The only question with AVXL is, will it work on people other than Austrailians. :)

To put your mind at ease, with AD treatments, you can connect machines to tell you something works. The only thing you have to test for is safety. Can't do that with everything else.

  • Be kind as they are the stones we walk on now. Then call NASA and report the launch.

Shorts covering at a good clip in the pre market. Burn baby burn.

  • And there is a BIG difference. What goes unnoticed is the degree that it is occurring with AVXL. and why. To what benefit? By that I mean, funds generally do this to aid accumulation. But we aren't heavily owned by funds that should be close to 100% by now with all the tactics employed.

With other bios, you don't see hit piece after hit piece EVERY SINGLE time the MACD cycle rolls over. Even now when they seemingly have little effect any longer. Like this last one talking about insider selling from FOUR years ago and a guy no longer with the company. What's next, AVXL doesn't sweep the floors but once a week and is too dirty to be a Pharma? Missling doesn't flush?

This action is designed to hold the stock price down and that does two things. First is prevent AVXL from negotiating from a position of strength that they would have if the stock price were up. Second, it prevents early biotech take overs. Just look at poor percentage record for bios that are bought with the stock below $10. That's because CEO's of the acquiring company have to justify to their BOD and shareholders why they want to pay $30 for something they could buy all day long for $3. THAT is a hard sell and why it rarely happens.

So when you want to blame shorts and hedge funds for past stock activity and events, I suspect BIG Pharma is the true conductor of this orchestrated action. Since well over 90% of biotech take overs occur in the first fiscal quarter of the year, I don't expect any "sustained" stock price advancement until this fall. And after AVXL gets the first bid, that the auction will truly begin. They are all flush with cash that accumulates by the day.

The REAL prize is the drug. The chance for AD patients to reverse symptoms and live not only a quality life for them, but more importantly for those family members that suffer FAR more than the patient. For them, their burden returns to loving quality time until it's gone.

More money will be made in the stock after FDA approval than before. Grossly more. No matter who buys the prize.

Yep, just a few. No management requiring golden parachutes, no staff to incorporate or fire, no retirements to factor in, no buildings or equipment to unload. Pretty simple. You just move the computers and any files, throw everything else away, sweep out the place, lock the door and return the key to the building super.

And what you get is 4 working Alheizmer drugs worth billions and a couple of cancer ones on the side.

  • All you have to do is hit Market Pulse and you will see people asking / worried about day to day action for AVXL These folks will be gone next week either way. While these types will always be around, I suppose that the low stock price makes this even more of a problem than it otherwise would be. These Captain Clip A. Bucks probably bought more than they should have and most of that on margin to boot. Their departure will limit upside advance and escalate any downward disappointment. Some of this can be blamed on the high expectation for a partnership, should it NOT be in the cards at this time.

I would expect a release on that this morning if it is to be in conjunction with this conference as it would create a "buzz" for both companies and draw more attention at the conference. Good luck to all.

  • They want to know if I think this will be a sell the news event? Why isn't there any buying today if it's "to da moon soon"?

I was totally unprepared to give a response because, according to the plan I developed, I had not considered selling until what would now be joked as absurd levels. My answer was, I have no idea how others will view this opportunity, and regardless, some will elect to sell. Some already have, especially those on margin. Make YOUR plan and execute accordingly.

This tells me many aren't prepared. For a drug / trial / stock that has had credibility issues that have negatively affected the market cap all along, why would you sell news that vindicates all three? Why sell the greatest risk / reward opportunity in a generation when it seems more credible after the news than ever? And who's to say that we get all the good news together? After all the troubles the stock / company has had from attacks to SEC investigations, I wouldn't put it past Missling to let it run and allow shorts to get really heavily positioned before he laid out any type of deal news. Burn as many of his detractors as he could.

This is going to be where a good plan pays off. The unprepared will sell too soon.

Well you always have the heftiest front run an MACD cross. Doesn't matter if their is a buyout pending. To them, it's a zero sum game. Sell / short everything; win more than you lose across the sector. Cover while everything is negative and buy the cross positive.

Everybody knows the game, the smart trader make use of it. The question here is, is it finally better to be an investor than a trader. The answer to that will be what happens the rest of the week .... AND next after news is out. And that we can only lay our bet.

This is defying gravity again after all the selling last week. HAD to be a lot of people sell expecting to buy back cheaper. Are they back in yet? But any comparison to last November is nothing like now. Maybe if it breaks $8. Still in the normal market cap range for other bios, so nothing is out of market norm to this point.

Somebody BIG held it up yesterday for some reason. See if they are still liking the $7.35 level or not.

No stock runs. Investors are required to do that. And with the CTO / company founder leaving, short term, people take that as a negative. I don't because he hasn't SOLD anything. He quit as a director a couple of months ago.which was also a clue. Nobody wants to see their "baby" get sold off after he struggled to keep it going all these years.

My guess is that they aren't looking for partners, but want to sell the company outright and the CTO didn't want to work for someone else at this stage of his career. Could be that his departure was a precondition to any deal / discussions. Let it pull back and load up. 98% of all take outs occur in the 1st calendar quarter, so odds are we have time.

    Sentiment: Buy

  • Last years long term damage took awhile to repair. Filtering out short term activity, finally, the stock is in the long term position of moving up again. The 200 day and 50 have both turned up and the stock is in the position of having a golden cross completed somewhere over the next 2 - 6 weeks unless disappointment bites again, but we are farther along in the process this time. Mean while, the IBB and XBI are lagging. The bulk of successful bio runs / gains occur with sector participation. I still see an excellent Oct - May run setting up for this fall / winter cycle for everything in this sector. And after the correction, M&A activity should boom since 98% of all take overs in biotech occur in the 1st colander quarter.

All we have to do is be patient and let Missling work.

    Sentiment: Strong Buy

  • If this doesn't close up close to $7.50 to break the down trend line, the MACD WILL go negative next week without the algo to help. The Options Monster always killed the momentum which it appears to have done again, with the worst losses coming the week AFTER expiration since. Without news, the two worst down days are the cross and the day after.

Because of the lack of buying interest at these levels, my guess is that everyone is holding out for a test of the 200 day around $5.63. We could do that by Wednesday and they still get back in before the conference.

    Batten down the hatches.
