idiot hakmelshihab, if Bank of Montreal and other banks are done, and short interest is not up, please explain the constant selloff?
We all know debt concerns, projects, revenue and assets.
not shorts selling, short interest has been down. Largest shareholder Bank of Montreal sold out, over 5 million shares. Think other bank holdings have sold also.
From what I found banks are selling their shares. Bank of Montreal sold out with over 5 million shares and being the largest shareholder. My guess other banks are selling. They got hit hard when share price and dividend collapsed. Might have been force to sell by regulators. Certainly hit the books hard. Bank of Montreal just announced a billion dollar plus investment in European wealth management. They might of needed some cash so they sold their losers.
Utilities buy natural gas under contract. They have significant green energy producing assets also. Wait until Obama demands clean energy! It is coming with new regulations.
Do you really believe votes are actually counted? All it takes is an IT server administrator to fudge the numbers and cover their #$%$.
Expect heating bills to double from last month. Last months bill was already doubled. CNP saying new daily records being seen. Has to help service side also. Hard on old furnaces.
Weather forecast is cold to continue through Jan. and even into Feb.
Not shorts selling, look at short position. Its been the banks mainly Bank of Montreal. When the divvy cut, share price tanked. had to hurt their balance sheet with the write off. Regulators too probably had a say. When the banks are done selling, up we go! FYI, Bank of Montreal was largest share holder have over 5 million shares.
They are presenting End of Year and End of Qtr. Takes more time to pull all the numbers together Also, I believe they will update us on debt restructuring activities.
Forgot to mention, labor participation rate is the lowest in the last 35 years. Based on todays data QE should increase bond buying, and treasuries should come down along with interest rates. Treasuries are down today and utilities stock prices are up a lot.
Fed will have to beek buying bonds for some time. Interest rates to remain low. Debt will be easier to refinance. Improved earnings with new projects coming online and extreme weather.
Learn to spell. Debt is manageable. Assets greater than debt with increasing revenue stream. A sale would be more likely, no bankruptcy court would approve it.
Short interest just posted up only 520000. The major reason is Bank of Montreal who owned over 5 million shares is selling out. New posting shows they sold over 4 million shares and 1 million to go. They might already be sold out. Volume has been high.
All utilities in Midwest posting record usage. Even Duke on East cost posted a thank you to customers. JPM asking electric customers to conserve. Earnings should be on the higher end of the curve. With the economy improving, some manufacturing coming back to US, ore homes being built electric usage will increase.
Interest rates treasuries going up hurting utilities and their dividend payout. Interest rates to remain low for at least two years.
