Tom Stemberg sounded well, frankly dumb on the interview. He did not sound like a thoughtful business leader. He sounded like a political crony that hitched his wagon to a tired old political insider. The electorate has rejected Romney as too liberal and willing to compromise principles and values for the sake of political expediency. Stemberg should clearly separate himself from the public image of a political crony that has no principles or values.
The office supply chain stores are nearing the bottom but that is where these stocks will stay. There is no indication that these stocks will rebound in the foreseeable future. Overall economic pressure combined with the inflexibility of the old business model spells prolonged stagnation.

There are top execs that move around from company to company because they are able to step right in and improve the existing organization. As a result, they are heavily recruited and move often. Then, there are those top execs that move around alot because they just DO NOT meet expectations and lack leadership.
Nice 9% boost today. No chance of a takeover though. With all the debt and the terrible management at the grass roots level (causing lots of union pressure and customer disatisfaction), there certainly will not be play for any takeovers.
