You are correct. Like most message boards of this type, it should be renamed the "whiner board." If you're looking for serious investor analysis and information that's rooted in reality, look elsewhere.
Of course companies place news releases with PR Newswire. No one's disputing that. But that doesn't change the fact that Allstate is well-known for its leadership in national disaster-preparedness efforts. Again, proves my point: The whiners and haters can't stand to see anything positive about the company.
Oh well, gotta pack -- it's off to Sandals! Won't be checking back here again. Best to all!
Pretend? Never hear of Pr Newswire -- used by all the major companies for years?
Now who got snared?!!
The whiners and haters on this board would never have it, so here's a change of pace -- read about one of the many good things Allstate does for the public: http://finance.yahoo.com/news/Community-Action-Plan-prnews-3525108306.html?x=0&.v=1
With your way of thinking, a company would never try any new venture -- or have the sense to exit it if warranted. Allstate Bank was begun in a much different business and regulatory environment. It amassed a very large amount of deposits in only a short time. Ten years later, the market is very different and it makes sense to make adjustments in business operations. That's what successful companies do. What's the problem?
boardreader/clueless: Sorry; ain't buyin' a word of it. (And I would never click on a link from a stranger --that's how you get computer viruses.)
Well, it's off to Vegas for some R&R. Last post. Won't be checking in here again. 'Bye!
Do you realize how ignorant you sound with all this Obama bashing? Or have you forgotten that the financial crisis exploded in Fall 2008, BEFORE Obama ever took office, while Bush and his cronies were asleep at the switch. There are no quick or easy fixes.
Sheeeesh! Talk about clueless.
