Was not condemning anyone, everyone makes mistakes ( self included) but I stand by my statement that a CPA is not a certified tax expert. There are local CPA firms in My area that hire the best available for tax season and sign a return that they did not themselves process. Like any other business if they screw up they lose customers. i would much prefer to work in the back office of a average CPA firm than work for any store front tax prep company . Enjoy you Summer all.
Fred, are you always a sucker for a slick sales pitch? FSAM might pop short term as it rapes FSC investors. Rest assured I will not bid the price up on you.
A CPA is not a certification for a tax expert. They use uncertified preparers in a back room and look it over and sign it. I get a certain enjoyment from correcting CPA mistakes. A Enrolled Agent is as certificated as a tax expert can get but being human they can also make mistakes.
I have never and will never lend or borrow money from a individual including my children . I might give someone something money with a promise to pass it on to someone else in need if they are able to help but never a loan. Each year ar Christmas it never fails a mother with a big shopping cart of food having her card declined at Walmart, if the cart is not loaded with beer I just step up pay for it and say Merry Christmas. That's the extent of my giving. I get a better feeling doing that than contributing to some organization with a big fat CEO and high overhead but I give up the tax deduction.
Ockiote, Not sure if this means anything or you need to alter your trading plan for next week.Last week while showering with Janet and playing "drop the soap" she was humming " Stormy Weather" and "Any Day Now". Take my word she will take a dare..
I,m in the process of selling the family farm that has been in the family since The War of Northern Aggression. I will have a large long term Capital gain. The buyer has cash and does not want to pay interest with a installment purchase. I don't wish to invest in a business property as a Like Kind Exchange. Is there a way I can spread out the tax hit on this transaction?
One suggestion I received was to hire a land assessor to estimate the land value higher than the tax value in the year I inherited it to raise the Basis.
Thank you all,
MAIN lately has moved between $26ish and $32ish . I start buying below $28 and sell over $31. The trash BDC like MCC,PSEC,FSC ect are only worthy of a short trade off a new bottom. In the past your could buy MAIN on a 52 wk high and come out over time.
I would have looked forward to a big Tuesday IF we had the usual sell off last week. It makes me want cash out long, short,Gold, the house goes up for sale next week and I,ve made a good deal on the farm in Virginia. Soon to be 100% cash living out of the back of a pu truck waiting on Slicks "Big One":) I,m considering trading for a old wore our truck and ride around with Bibb over ally . I,m thankful my wife does not read my posts:)
Bernie and Obama would only think that the imperial government of Venezuela did not go far left enough. Commies always double down on failure.
Another reason I like Lowes I screwed up a special order for new Garage doors , I ordered 8' but needed 9' and being in a hurry I opened one carton up messily before realizing my mistake. Lowes gave me a full refund and exchange with no question.
One interesting thing about HD, if you buy a molding you can save all you scrap and return it to the store for full credit for total length of all the pieces.
I remember the conversation and I only shop at Lowes and carry there CC to get the discount. In my working days I was a transportation vendor for both HD and Lowes, both were demanding but HD store personnel behaved in such a way that I don't set foot in the place and do not compare prices. I don't waste time going to either for advice just walk in buy what I want and leave . Most resent purchase was a dishwasher and over the range microwave (selling home) for about $600 including water lines and reworking tile back splash.
NEWS: Yellen will give a speech at 1:15 today. The market might go nuts depending on how a Bot reads a buzz word:) Slickogeddon ?
In olden times you could expect a sell off on a Friday before Memorial Day. But ............ Low balls in place in case of a slickageddon.
