Angela Braley off shored dept after dept in an attempt to cut cost and fill her pockets. However she only cut quality. Hopefully the next CEO will stop shipping American jobs over seas.
Both. I invested in Wellpoint years ago (still holding those shares) and would consider doing it again.
It just seems hypocritical to send out a press release about diversity and hiring Vets under the pretense of being a good corporate citizen and then sending American jobs off shore.
The water is fine and my life is a vacation.
Again, how you doing?
Fembup - I buy locally to keep my money in the community. I don’t shop at Walmart. I don’t hire illegal aliens. I check labels and look for Made in America. I drive a Ford. FYI – I already own WLP and have for about 18 years. I purchased it at $18 before it split. I’ve made a good profit. I’m retired and right now I’m on my boat at Lake Havasu in Arizona because my life is a vacation. How you doing?
While it’s nice to diversify, I would be more impressed, and likely to invest if Wellpoint kept its entire workforce within the borders of the United States. Your product is American made and only sold in the USA. If you stop sending jobs “off shore” I will buy your stock. America is waiting to see an American company buy American.
Thank you, from a deep pocket investor.
I've just heard that staff was layed off and their jobs were sent "Off Shore". At the same time WLP says they are going to hire more Vets. What BS. Why don't they keep the jobs in the US. These jobs were customer service, adjustments, benefit coding and medical review. Yep WLP operations is handled in the Philippines. Save America jobs first, then hire a vet.
I liked Margolin. She was a good person and stood up for the BCC staff.
I never met Jim, however everyone spoke well of him.
Anyone have an interest in this topic? Wellpoint (not Anthem) kicked Tenets buttt back in 2002! However let's let the past pass. I'm thinking of buying into Tenet if it drops to $6.24
My father-n-law recommended this stock and asked me to research it. However I'm having a hard time finding much of anything useful. Any advise, assistance or insight would be appreciated. Thank you.
OK, I'm going to get up early and listen to the conf call. If I like what I hear, I'll buy in. FYI - It's a pain for me to get up that early because I'm in Calif. (5:00 a.m!@#$&) Cynicallacinyc will you be on the conf call?
Hi duyu118. Yes there are multiple platforms: WGS, NASCO, ect., however it's my understanding, they are all in one mainframe in Richmond VA.
The mainframe computer is in VA right? I heard Anthem moved the Wellpoint computer (in Woodland Hills, CA) to VA several years ago. Is that right?
Most of the National groups are very large, and most want their member calls handled in the USA. I did hear that 12 National claims examiners in a Calif office were just let go. This may be because of a loss in membership. Good luck to all who are still working there, customer first and LTV.
