Thank you both. On the plus side, I have no positions, and no plans to take new positions for a long time and maybe not ever. It just beat me is all- the game simply beat me. All this time wasted trying to beat the market and I ended up losing most of the money, and now will spend most of it for living expenses while I look for a new job situation.
I can feel Hussman's pain. Probably if he had just gone long S&P, or not held his puts at various times, his fund would be 30+ instead of 7.85. It's a career-changer, though luckily for him he has plenty of money so he's not in my situation.
But honestly what really hurts is not that I ruined my financial future, but the mental part of knowing I wasted so much time messing around with speculative stuff and lost most of the money, when I could've just been long gold or the S&P and go to the beach. It's going to take time to get past this.
You think DWTI is going up another 150%? I am nervous of buying those triples because of the decay when they move against you.
Well, I myself turned 500k into under 200k the past couple years. I really don't even believe it, but I'll admit I thought pretty seriously about killing myself. I need to more than double my money just to use my tax loss carry forward and at the rate I'm spending money I'll need to quadruple what I have left. All while market is all time high. We all try not to let money define us but I lost at the game and not sure how to recover. I guess he feels the same.
Good god am I hating this.
Unfortunately such a tiny gain is not enough for me.
It'll make ya cry. And I don't own a home and am spending 600 a week for living expenses so I will run out in a couple years. That's the way it goes. Need some kind of miracle.
So at August expiration, I would have $3600 of the $50000 invested in DUST if DUSt is under 4. If DUST is 2, I will have $1800 in DUST, and $46000 in cash. Would I be crazy to average down, and get my cost under 3 or maybe 2.50 and hope it goes back to 4?
As I write DUST has dropped from 6.65 to 5.68 in the past hour so I assume it will drop under 4 within 42 days.
99.9% what do you mean? My cost would be 3.75, are you saying that will never be achieved again? If it is $2 I will think seriously about averaging down.
Right now it has 178 cent cushion, at 5.78. I hope I am not dead soon.
Once it breaks below 6 the move lower will be fast and furious IMO. Q2 earnings could do the trick.
Can only hope I will ever break even, or maybe sell covered calls.
