Refiners have had some price action of late. Buffett just keeps adding to PSX. Inside buying at WNR & PBF. Good yields. Time will tell. GLTA
Good to hear from you as well. The Jets game got scary. Bills scored really quick. Luckily they got organized.
Big Pharma is an interesting bunch of late. Some buyouts, some drug failures, some pricing issues, etc. Almost as good as oil of late. I personally just turned on dividend re-invest on BMY. This December we will see if they increase .04. Its not like BMY will go out of business. LLY is flat and quietly rebuilding. At least they are increasing dividend again. By the way, they are working with PETX.
Old Tech is doing quite nice. Looks like rotation in. Trying to figure out the new interest in refiners. Buffett loves PSX. One point I read, building a new refinery is costly.
ATI has a big short interest. Squeeze?
Hope you win that pool. Have a great weekend.
Yes the people at Yahoo seemed to go one step forward, two back. on this enhancement. Its easy to get the old boards back for any stock, for now. Just type symbol in the get message board field. Then hit go.
Stumbled in on SE, chasing yield on this one. EMC and JCI are gone. So I have some ammo to play with. And then little more when ACAS deal closes. Not sure if I want another BDC. ARCC. BRFH is stuck. Look at the latest SEC report. Early backers want to be able to cash out. That is fine. This is going to be a long term play.
Another beverage company, LWAY has some strong upward movement. However it is family controlled and they are not the sharpest sticks in the pile. Bought 2 refiners that are acting like a ping pong game, WNR and PBF. Again yield chasing above 5.5. Added to PPL. Oh yeah, PETX. another BarFresh hail mary.
And you? TC J-E-T-S
Found a way to get to the old boards, posted on Barfresh.
I agree sectors have been over bought and things can turn on a dime. The HY bond market is also running up. So w/bonds and stocks reaching higher ground, what is an investor to do? That is why I deployed $$$ into the refiners. Battered bunch. If it everything goes to hell by 10%, I would be still up for the year a few points. Buyout/mergers still occur, EMC, TE, SE, EDE, JCI. And they still will and hopefully be paying dividends txs and GL
Thanks, last year it was announced on 8/20. Little concerned, still maintaining, I see. Thanks.
Since we are on the BDC topic, ACAS/ARCC is taking a long time. I will get some 600 share of ARCC if deal closes. Any thoughts on ARCC?
BTW Refiners are on fire, PBF and WNR had nice gains. Payout is #$%$. Not BDC territory, however nice. txs again
J-Man still track WHF? Interesting note, maybe your eyes have a different view, are they late in announcing 3Q distribution? TIA
Utah I agree 110 percent. Must be in a high volume fast food chain.
They did have something going on with Sizzler which was a start.
Yes I would think a percentage of loans will be paid early and new origination would be lower. There will be equity sales and maybe the proceeds will be used to cover dividend, overtime. PLUS they can use the old ROC formula to maintain. However the BOD declares/decides. I'm in slightly higher than you, so I am hoping for price appreciation first (Bond like reaction) and the dividend as a reward for our patience. GL
I'm in SO too. One of my 2014 purchases. I am aware of the NYT article and the situation for years. The angle here is the credits and are the rate payers going to absorb the overruns? In a nut shell, they took a proven technology, spiced it up big time on paper and built it on a scale that no one has ever built before and screwed it up. TE has an IGCC plant (Polk) and it is still operating. I believe it's too big to fail. Go with your gut. I'm hanging on to mine for now. Looks like the street has it baked in already, unless a bigger rock falls. Like accounting fraud, etc. No ENRON here please!!
Someone mentioned on the CNP board that CNP had a big volume day before the 4th. Something like 8m shares. It is still paying above 4% which is rare amongst the utilities stocks currently. OKE is at 5.25 and SE 4.5%. I have enough OKE.
Never gone the REIT path. So, I'm clueless here. MIC yields 6.5% but it pays a ROC dividend.
Hang in there !
