I might be slow, however SDRL cost basis was reduced by broker. I checked SDRL website and there was an IRS form for dividends detailing that 83.73% for 2015 is now ROC. GL
Refiners have had some price action of late. Buffett just keeps adding to PSX. Inside buying at WNR & PBF. Good yields. Time will tell. GLTA
OGE wants it all. CNP management is booted!
Any news on the ENBL stake and the third party strategic review? Arclight has been selling ENBL in the $14-$15 range.
It would not load for me either. Timed out.
With Mondelz making an offer for HSY, it looks like the food sector is hot again. GIS taken out by KHC is a big rumor.
Yes I would think a percentage of loans will be paid early and new origination would be lower. There will be equity sales and maybe the proceeds will be used to cover dividend, overtime. PLUS they can use the old ROC formula to maintain. However the BOD declares/decides. I'm in slightly higher than you, so I am hoping for price appreciation first (Bond like reaction) and the dividend as a reward for our patience. GL
May the 4th in your neck of the woods be safe and sane. They are already blasting stuff and getting prepared for their grand finale. The Brexit selloff did get me worried. However, I rode it out. PPL did get hit because of UK exposure, however it bounced right back.
As I mentioned the biggest surprise was the closure of TE. I have some money to buy something. Thinking GSK will straighten itself out and grab another 100. While we wait, 6% is not bad. However, with pound down 10 cents, it will translate to less, I believe. If it gets below 40 again I might consider. They are the kings of vaccines.
Be careful with insurance. They have to invest their premiums.
Yes MDU is having a heck of a run. Did not expect that. Ill take it!! I have some JCI. I have to figure out the deal with Tyco. I just don't understand it as of yet. Their website has some info, I read it at least 4X and I am still missing something. What I am concerned about is the stock price resetting and the options involving cash. Then there is spinoff of Auto seating (UK based). The media is touting the merger as a positive. Maybe it is.
Same goes for EMC and tracking stock of VM. Why can't it be all cash like EDE and TE.
Yes, Barfresh is/can be fun. Hope it will not turn into a segment of the American Greed show on CNBC. That Godbless individual is off the top. To each his own. I have been in it for 3 years. I think that is patience. LOL
Check out Greenspace went for .75 to .93 CAN. there could be some growth here. Even in Canada.
SO, DUK, WEC and even EXC are having nice runs. Who knew!
Hey HVB Happy 4th,
TE Closed today, I thought the buyout was to be finalized in August. I was surprised when I logged on my broker account this morning. Anyway, I have some cash to re-deploy. Tough to replace the yield that TE was paying. See you on the EDE side of tracks. Gotta run!
All the best
It will turn around. JF has plan, probably involve dilution. Reminds me of some bad EU banks during the crisis issuing warrants, shares, etc. GL
Yeah this is certainly better than a stick in the eye. You can certainly buy Emera if you have an international account setup. With CAN dollar @ .75, buying with American dollars, it could be a bargain if CAN $ appreciates in the future. What are the odds on that !!
Tax time might be funky with dividends. Fidelity charges $19 a trade, 1% of principal for currency exchange under $100K and .005% local broker fee. Reason I know this I was looking at CAN food company the other day.
Anyway, we all did well with TE, not a bad return for 6 years of holding !! GL
This is the spinoff from OKE. OKS is the K1 version of OKE. This has been a gem with good dividend growth. Regulated gas has merger/buyout potential. NG prices are up too.
Be glad you stumbled into this and pour yourself a cold, premium beer this weekend !
Yes indeed, which ones in your lot do you think will get a bid? I believe OGS, VCC or MDU will go in mine.
I'm in SO too. One of my 2014 purchases. I am aware of the NYT article and the situation for years. The angle here is the credits and are the rate payers going to absorb the overruns? In a nut shell, they took a proven technology, spiced it up big time on paper and built it on a scale that no one has ever built before and screwed it up. TE has an IGCC plant (Polk) and it is still operating. I believe it's too big to fail. Go with your gut. I'm hanging on to mine for now. Looks like the street has it baked in already, unless a bigger rock falls. Like accounting fraud, etc. No ENRON here please!!
Someone mentioned on the CNP board that CNP had a big volume day before the 4th. Something like 8m shares. It is still paying above 4% which is rare amongst the utilities stocks currently. OKE is at 5.25 and SE 4.5%. I have enough OKE.
Never gone the REIT path. So, I'm clueless here. MIC yields 6.5% but it pays a ROC dividend.
Hang in there !
Utah I agree 110 percent. Must be in a high volume fast food chain.
They did have something going on with Sizzler which was a start.
Yes you are compulsive concerning the patent drama. What about BH location and worldwide (Australia/New Zealand business) ?
I agree sectors have been over bought and things can turn on a dime. The HY bond market is also running up. So w/bonds and stocks reaching higher ground, what is an investor to do? That is why I deployed $$$ into the refiners. Battered bunch. If it everything goes to hell by 10%, I would be still up for the year a few points. Buyout/mergers still occur, EMC, TE, SE, EDE, JCI. And they still will and hopefully be paying dividends txs and GL
