How could you possibly know what position I am in. What I have seen is what has already happened in Israel. Do a little research and you will find a history of pump and dump oil claims by small players claiming big discoveries in Israel. Why not put some of your "intelligent and sophisticated" smarts to work and get some oil flowing from this fantastic discovery. Almost a year has passed. How long does it take these experts to test wells, analyze data, and release results. As for short/long I do not typically invest in small undercapitalized drilling and explorations efforts. We will see what the future holds with respect to this one. There is always something to learn whether right or wrong. Your math is too fuzzy for me. I do not have time to tutor you.
"The final arbiter is not the current stock price. The final arbiter is the price of the stock after they make their announcement"
Once again a partial truth incorrectly and incompletely stated. The final arbiter is the stock price after they "conclusively prove" they have discovered and can economically produce oil for profit. Until then, you are fooling yourself and others with wishful thinking. The current stock price reflects the forward looking sentiment of current and prospective investors. You need to be careful. It is one thing to lose your own money, it is another to cause others loss. I hope you have not overextended yourself by betting the bank on this one. As I have said before and will say again, I have seen this story played out many times before. You would do well to listen.
"That's false. Howard Jonas NEVER announced an oil find. Yuval Bartov, their chief geologist, said “We’ve found an oil stratum 350 meters thick in the southern Golan Heights,” and later.... “On average worldwide, strata are 20 to 30 meters thick, and this is 10 times as large as that, so we are talking about significant quantities.”"
I was reluctant to get involved in this but you are sounding rather ridiculous. Is Bartov not one of GNE's most trusted advisors? Did the company issue a statement countering the claim? Stockplusbonds is correct and hit the nail right on the head. The company made a fantastic claim, which aroused my suspicion, and has been steadily walking it back covering their forward looking statements with a heavy dose of salt. You may not agree but the stock price certainly does. And that is the final arbiter of this discussion.
You have it completely bassackwards. No company is in a rush to release bad news, good news is heard before it's ever released. If they had a gusher you would know about it. This does not look good from an oil_man's perspective. I have repeatedly advised those following GNE to temper their expectations and exercise caution. I have seen this story played out many times before. I do agree we will know something official soon. I wish you well and that is why I warn you.
