It's hard to believe but BSC continues to lay off senior employees...
The Guidant disaster happened years ago yet management can't get it resolved and continue to lose highly qualified Engineers.
Fortunately, they continue to keep their top class managers on the payrole....... Thank goodness they continue to lose Engineers who contribute nothing to BSC ???!!!!???
#$%$???? Anyone Manager, Director and above, should be lost ASAP and keep Engineers who can actually get new products to market!
What the hell is wrong with BSC management????
I see Angiotech announced that their profits have declined due to Taxus losing 50% of sales in the last quarter. No wonder BSX price is falling.
Recalls in pacing again and again and now an announcement that Taxus is on the way out. It really explains the fall in share price.
Is that warning letter still in place? I would have thought it had been cleared a long time ago.
If it's still active, I'm surprised the FDA has not said enough is enough and ceased all US sales.
Oh - A competition!
My entry - Insider trading!
I've been waiting for this one to hit for years now.
It's a pity incompetence is not a violation. That's a sure winner!
I agree that many corporations have credible assets listed as intangible and/or goodwill that fit perfectly under this heading.
In the case of BSX however, this is just a parking space where the substantial corporate losses wait while it is slowly written off year after year.
With the growing number of losses, I would not be surprised to see "Goodwill" grow substantially in the 2009 Y/E accounts over 2008.
I see that Boston Sci just sold Advanced Bionics for $489 Million in cash. Pity they paid $740 Million in cash for it just 5 years ago.
Don't worry investors, it's only a $251 Million loss. We should be used to seeing "Buy High - Sell Low" and more loss as standard by now.
BSX really goes out of their way to add value to their write-downs!
This isn't business 101. It's business WTF???
I'm guessing he/she was fired from the Maple Grove facility when BSX had lay offs last November. It appears that Kyle is a very bitter person with no other way to vent his frustrations other than spending his/her day whining here.
Due to the length of time he/she rants here, I'm further guessing that is either completely incompetent and can't get another job or BSX fired him for cause thus nullifying any chance of a positive reference to submit to another employer.
There were some rumors on this and other boards that some production lines were moving from Indiana to Ireland in 08. These were active during the headcount reduction announcement time.
That's about a weak a rumor as they come though.
Forgot to add that once good news comes in, the only original spammer comes in with a post.
Plus the "bad news" spam was reported to all be virus infected.
Sounds like someone did not want the negative comments about Tobin/BSX posted or read.
Anyone notice that when the BSX stock was dropping like a rock, coupled with bad news, and all the posts were very anti Tobin/BSX that this board was buried in spam?
All the negative posts were buried under a mountain of spam preventing replies or allowing other to see all the negative comments.
Interesting how the continuous spam stopped when all the negative comments stopped being posted.
Could all these new posters and all this spam been originated from BSX to bury all the negative comments???
The timing was interesting.
