Natural Gas Prices Saring - Hot Summer

If you do the math and subtract the sale of the properties and add in the gas price increase, VNR will now make over 200 million this quarter!!!!! This should be a $5.00 share stock!!!!!!! Why do we keep dropping?

I own 20k of shares. More frustrating than anything, patience, patience! I suppose if I buy another 25 K shares they would have to consider a majority owner.

Sometime you get a small player taking on a big project and they don't put or have the right resources available to make something happen and make it profitable. The previous management made a poor decision to build and never considered the consequences of oil dropping, nor did they consider cost overruns. You could've purchased a 20k skid mounted refinery for 1/10th the cost! Plenty of those on the market and being utilized throughout the world.

    Live and learn.

  • Natural gas prices ended Friday at $2.987 per MMBtu – 12.2% higher from last week and the highest close since May 2015 – as successive below-average builds on the back of strong power sector consumption keep on cutting into the year-over-year storage surplus. Things were further helped by predictions of strong cooling demand with forecasts of warmer temperature across the country over the next few days.

The commodity has rebounded strongly (by more than 85%) since hitting 17-year lows of around $1.6 per MMBtu in the first quarter. This has boosted shares of natural gas companies like Devon Energy Corp. DVN and Range Resources Corp. RRC, which have popped up more than 30% over the past 3 months.

VNR looks like it will be last to the party. By the way earnings announcement has been moved up. Probably some truth that they will pay off all their debt with one blow this quarter.

Just got an upgrade from Zack's today and they have been one of VNR's biggest criticis.

Monsanto settled with Argentina over soybean dispute, Bayer is divesting radiology group, etc. All part of the process folks, just a matter of time. Monsanto is making itself look more attractive so Bayer shareholders don't balk. Start thinking $135.00 on the offer! This is a done deal!

As I have stated, NG prices have gone up .50mmcf and oil has stabilized at around $45-55. NGL liquids has gone up too. THE LAST QTR WE MADE AROUND 80 MILLION, WE WILL MAKE DOUBLE THAT AMOUNT EASILY THIS QUARTER!!!!!!!!!! This is a minimum $5.00/share right now!!!

If canyontraveler is correct or even half correct and they pay down half the debt, this is a $3.50 share minimum. As I have stated, if they have three consecutive quarters of 180 mil plus, this is a $15.00 share once again!

Yes I own 20K shares plus! If they announce earnings early, that will be the signal that they plan to pay off debt and it was a huge quarter!!!!

Waiting for all the 'financial analysts' to start raising their sentiments from sell to strong buy. It is coming!!!!

    VNR - what the hell?

One thing I find real funny is that all the insider buying took place at around $14.00/share and there has been zero sales by the insiders! In fact, there have been more purchases, obviously to average down, watch to see if a new list of insiders is posted shortly! ThAt means it will be a huge qtr.

Quite a bit of insider buying in May, perhaps a lot of shorting activity. NG prices are high, oil prices are stable, credit is a non-issue this quarter as they have already come close to doubling last qtr.'s performance. Something fishy here!!

  • In just the last two weeks, the price of natural gas has increased by $0.45/mmbtu. The January, 2017 NYMEX contract, which will be the front month contract by late November, closed at $3.32/mmbtu on June 10th. The oil and gas prices you see quoted in the business news each day are the front month NYMEX contracts.
The reason for the sharp move in the gas price is awareness by the speculative traders that our gas market is going to be a lot tighter heading into next winter. U.S. production is now falling by over 400 MMcf per day month-after-month, primarily because the associated gas from horizontal wells in the oil shale plays is dropping like a rock. Gas from the Eagle Ford shale play in South Texas is falling by over 200 MMcf per day. At this rate of decline, we will have 4 to 5 Bcf per day less gas supply heading into the heating season than we had a year ago. Five percent less supply will have a significant impact on gas prices

Five coal fired power plants and a nuclear power plant are being replaced by gas fired plants this year. Plus, the weather forecast for July is HOT for the eastern U.S., which will significantly increase demand from our gas fired power plants. Gas fired power plants now produce more electricity than coal fired power plants in the U.S.

Over 90 percent of new homes built in the U.S. are heated with natural gas, so residential space heating demand goes up each year.

Natural gas in storage is high for this time of year thanks to a mild winter, but a hot summer should bring storage levels back to normal by the time the next winter heating season begins. If that happens, the price of natural gas in the first quarter of 2017 should top $4.00/mmbtu.

I'm real skeptical about today's drop it looks like pure manipulation. I hold 10000 shares plus, I guess could double down on this at this price. NG prices look to go up dramatically as does oil.

    Sentiment: Strong Buy

Natural Gas UP 6% today, why then is VNR down?

pipelinewave pipelinewave Jun 9, 2016 12:35 PM Flag

Mark, a lot of the majors and independents are down today. NG is high, oil I high for the year, can't figure it out. Market pullback a little today. Kind of hoping for a big surge soon. Hot weather drives up demand for NG as several power plants are converting to run off NG. As I stated on another VNR thread, VNR should be surging to 5 right now. Based on today's prices and jumping into the 3rd qtr. soon, VNR might be able to pay off it's debt ahead of schedule, have money left over for capital and divvy!!!!

NG is at 2.48 and oil is at $50plus/barrel. 1st qtr conditions were $30/barrel oil and $1.60 NG. Anyone with some math skills can figure out what is next. The current price is grossly low and I'm surprised some of the 'financial analyst' haven't upgraded VNR. I believe they made 76-82 mil in the 1st qtr. This is a slam dunk 150 - 175 mil qtr in profits, this upcoming qtr! If these prices stay or go up, we are looking at a 200-250mil profit in the 3rd qtr. If today's IEA inventory report comes out positive as having crude draws, we could see a huge surge. You are seeing it now with BP, Shell, some of the other upstream producers. VNR has been seriously lagging. Should be at a minimum of $3.00/share now. $6.00 by the end of July. Again two or three positive quarters in a row and we should be back at a minimum of $10-12/share. As I stated I own over 14,000 shares.

Here's a bigger problem for you to deal with. Today's volume indicates significant accumulation by someone. Two more days at these levels and SGYP has been acquired by someone. Chew on that for awhile!

Donna, I like to look at the percentages of oil versus gas production. The two real big oil producers are in the Wyoming/Montana area. A few refineries out there for outlets. Those are Williston and Big Horn Fields both producing above 80% plus oil.

Again, I think there is a lot to look forward to this upcoming quarter. A lot of guys understand Eagle Ford and Permian production and what that means in dollars and cents. Bottom line is VNR is going to have a huge quarter!!!!

Production going up, new drilling taking place, looks good. Check your VNR production maps, We are in Eagle Ford and Permian Basin. VNR will do real well this quarter!!! Stage one of big comeback is coming. Oil prices should remain around 45-60, VNR will do real well!!!
