This is exciting as this means new revenue stream potential, should this be successful.
"We are thrilled and excited to enter market #4 with a station that reaches the entire metro population," said Salem Media Group President Dave Santrella. "Just in time for the run up to the biggest Presidential election of our lifetime, we're adding the entire lineup of Salem's outstanding network talk talent."
The lineup will include live shows from the Salem Radio Network:
Hugh Hewitt, 3am to 6am
Mike Gallagher, 6am to 9am
Dennis Prager, 9am to Noon
Michael Medved, Noon to 3pm
Larry Elder, 3pm to 6pm
Steve Deace, 9pm to Midnight
Salem's news talk stations and network have grown in prominence in 2016, with its coverage of the Presidential election. Salem surprised some in the media when it obtained exclusive radio rights to four of the GOP Presidential debates. SRN will offer wall-to-wall coverage of the GOP Convention in Cleveland from 6am toMidnight, including live anchored coverage of the evening activities. The new station in San Francisco will be able to carry it all.
I wouldn't consider re-purchase of shares better than a dividend or wisest use of resources.
At least, they're not giving lip service to thier $20mill stock repurchase program. To be exact, CDI repurchased 290,888 shares for $1.7 million during the first quarter 2016 and an aggregate of 461,055 shares for $2.7 million from inception of the program through May 2, 2016.
thanks for the clarification/confirmation. However, what I still don't understand is their intent/goal of achieving with this "synergy". There doesn't seem to be that great of savings or revenue generation from this quasi merger of sorts.
It doesn't help determine if investing in one company would result in the the liability of another's lawsuits, etc....
Which company do you like better and why? Thanks!
For the brave (gambler/trader's) heart, KZ could give them some excitement lately.
Down 13% last week, up 3.58% today! Interesting.
Clarification on Stupid Question. What is the Difference between BHP vs BBL?
The offer price is a joke! However, having said that AND the current management ineptitude, I would run to take it too.
KZ is no longer stagnat. Today (05/06/16), KZ is down a 13.93%!
Why in gods name did KZ go down 13%? If KZ goes down $4, this would be a catastrophe! WHY?!
You may be right about a breakout.
Is this the classic cup with handle pattern? Today's shake out of weak hands building up for a longer term breakout?!
Three reasons why I am still a long time holder:
0 KZ has been relatively stable AND lately, it has a positive upward trend, albeit tiny.
0 KZ debt is not much and KZ is cash positive.
0 KZ is a micro-cap and has shown ability to rocket up with good news.
However, KZ has shown to go and stay low for extended period of time, than go up.
My lack of patience is rearing up lately..
What's not to like?! SALM was a big mover last session, as the company saw its shares rise over 51.2% on the day. The move came on solid volume too with far more shares changing hands than in a normal session. This continues the recent uptrend for the company as the stock is now up 6.0% in the past one-month time frame.
None of the estimates for this stock were revised over the past 30 days. The Zacks Consensus Estimate also remained unchanged over the same time frame. Yesterday’s price action is encouraging though, so make sure to keep a close watch on this firm in the near future.
Blame it on poor executive management leadership.
What have they communicated to make KZ exciting to own? No vision thing.
What prositive earnings execution has management shown in the past years?
What exciting technology have management shown/shared with the investing community?
BTW, who is KZ's CEO and how long has this position been vacant?
Any way to find/determine if SALEM broadcasting is getting more political ad revenue as the presidential election is finally getting tighter?
It was very nice, but, why the special? I did not read anything on this special ....and it's not like GSK revenue has been rated superior, especially of late.
Agreed, very nice! However, does anyone know why we got an extra dividend? I did not read anything the reason behind the "extra bonus".
"My hope is that since the stock did hit $16ish in 2012...."
That $16ish valuation meterics must be thrown out the window. The prior valuation was based upon an entirely industry.
'If so, this is a great time to buy CDI.'
If so, wouldn't have been better time to buy Oil ETFs? I did, but, never enough on the winners. Still got a outside chance to buy more, as I believe for 2016 oil supply continues to mount.
