A small settlement just to end litigation is not worth much in the long run. Are you still going to hype this settlement when it's proven to be tiny? If the settlement was large with ongoing royalties, the technology would be proven valuable, do you agree? If it's small with no royalties, it means the technology wasn't valuable to Samsung. Correct?
If the ITC case is ruled against PRKR, I think this is going to fall like a rock. Why would it rise?
No, the Samsung deal was just a way to end litigation and the desperate PV settled for whatever they could get. You can't prove otherwise, and it's all speculation on your part. Keep telling yourself that the small Samsung deal is just a beginning, and wait several more years for other small settlements. I've been there and heard the same #$%$ before. The US court already dismissed their $173 million win for good reason. Good luck. I plan to cover when this pig stops dropping.
You still lose. The stock is 10% of where it was 2 years ago and the Samsung settlement was likely small. Face it.
It doesn't need to...it just needs to drop below the price where it was shorted. And it already has for me. The question is what if it doesn't go back to the ~$50 where it was 2 years ago? IMO it never will and lots of people hold it at that price. Unless you loaded up with a lot more stock "pre-Samsung" you're going to end up losing money on this dog, imo.
So your "answer" is to cut and past a post full of BS from another Parker pumper?LOL! I was long this POS stock until the appeals court shot down the $173 million verdict, which proved to me that the patents are worthless, and the stock dropped 95%. The SCOTUS then refused to hear the case, so now you think the ITC is going to rule differently? And you further believe that a small settlement with Samsung is somehow going to lead to bigger settlements with others? LMAO! I don't short many stocks, but this one is obviously over-hyped. Even at 10% of the pps of 2 years ago, it's over-priced imo. Sorry you lost so much on it. You could have recovered some by shorting at $7 like I did.
So you cut and paste the words of another pumper, and you call that "proof" of something? Show me one example of what you claim. Show me one example of a lawsuit that resulted in a small settlement with subsequent settlements getting larger.
My question is how does someone come up with a $6 pps when the terms of the settlement aren't even disclosed. It has to be pulled from a dark stinky place. Notice the pps is drifting down as the new bagholders wonder what happened, and the old longs sell into this hype. I once bought this long, but realized they really have nothing and are unlikely to prevail in court. So they will just troll for a while. imo.
When the details are know, the pumpers will just make some excuse that the first settlement is small and the next ones (if there are any) will be "huge". And they won't be able to explain why that would be the case. As time goes on you may see more "confidential" (aka "small") settlements come in. That's how a patent troll works.
Why don't you answer my questions? How much income does it take to justify a $6 pps and where is it going to come from? How can they keep the settlement details from the shareholders if it's "material"? No large settlement I've ever seen has been hidden and must be released per SEC rules. This was clearly a one-time payment because ongoing royalties would be "material" imo. If Samsung settled for a small amount, why would anyone else settle for more?
I've seen this with other stocks in patent suits...it's all speculation. I'm betting the Samsung settlement is small, otherwise they would have been forced to release details. You're even admitting as much. And you're just speculating that there even will be a "next settlement". This is just patent trolling imo and will never amount to any significant money. They'll make small settlements over and over just to get what they can out of the supposed "infringers". Those who bought before the reverse split will still get hosed like I did, but I intend to get it back when this pig falls.
This is a great short candidate, and that's all. imo.
I bought PRKR long a couple years ago at $6, pre-reverse split. That's $66 today! Since then I've seen what a failure it is. I took my loss at $7 on this settlement news and shorted much more at the same price. I fully expect to recover my prior losses and possibly even come out in the black, and will continue to short it if you pumpers hype it back up to $7 again. Keep pumping this pig. After the quarterly report it will crash. imo.
The shorts won based on what I see on the charts for the past couple of years. What are you hyping about?
If this settlement was meaningful, ie "material" the terms would have to be disclosed per SEC rules. When did you ever see a settlement that turned out to be large, that was not fully disclosed when it happened?
This is an obvious short right now.
"Why did Samsung settle? Because Parkervision is so desperate that they are willing to settle and Samsung seized on that as a way to avoid costs and time-consuming hassle of litigation no doubt. ."
Precisely. That's how these lawsuits usually work out, with small settlements. It's the short of the year right now, and the bubble will burst once the pumpers realize how small the payment was. If it was large, it would be "material" and would have to be reported publicly.
IMO this is a huge short right now. The Samsung "settlement" was likely for a few million bucks, nowhere near the amount needed to justify a $6 pps. The company has no income to speak of. It's all speculation at this point, and I'm betting the speculation bubble is going to pop soon. I sold all my shares at $7 then shorted slightly over $7 on this hype. I'll short more if it bumps back up, covering under $5. All imo.
There's a topqueer on every stock board. Always bashing and attacking others who believe in their investment or trading vehicle. The peon should just shut his mouth and go away if he hates the stock. Seems like RNN is trying to do something good for the world.
He's a basher that has no conviction in his position. He's sure it's not going anywhere, but he won't put his money where his mouth is. But he expects others to do so. Typical shortie dolt that hangs out on every board.
