  • I was thinking of buy 1 share but this stock seems to be on a downward trend. Any opinions?

  • This stock was recomended to me, but I am having trouble understanding the dividend process. Could someone tell me if I bought shares this week, when the next distribution would be. Also, is this a decent price point to enter given the state of the loan market? It will be a long term hold for me for growth reasons.

    Thank you

As a comerical photographer for 20 years and high end digital user (22 mega pixel camera) for 8 years I know that myself and all the pro users I deal with are buying or getting ready to buy the new intel Macs. Most professionals need speed. Cost is not an issue. The time savings of a faster computer always outweighs the purchase price. I curently have 6 Apple G5's and two laptops. All will be replaced in the next few months . All will need new CS2 software. Pro's make up a huge market for Adobe so I expect good growth for Adobe as soon as the products are launched. Most pros on Apple machines could care less what windows has to offer. Many of the high end digiral cameras on the market doen't even run on Windows. I have owned Adobe for a long time. Traded it a few times and always wished I had just stayed long. Its a nice steady growth stock with a few bumps one the way up. Adobe likes to double and split every few years. this is a company which keeps getting stronger as Digital begins to rule the planet.

    Just mho

I have owned ADBE a few times . Evertime I sell the stock it takes off. I own it at $36.35 so I am getting dangerously close to break even or loss. I would buy it back lower or just hold and wait. Just can't afford to loose any more money. Any one know why the stock and been going down?

I have been watching this board for a few years. Most of the time I never post. I am invested in Adobe. I don't trade much. The few times I felt like adobe was going to go down I would sell. Then of course it would move up 4-6 points. I am a commercial photographer who uses their products every day, as do all of my associates. I am on user groups, which are made up of professional photographers, video, web and animation people all over the world. We ALL use Adobe and macromedia products. None of us will every change. Photoshop is a hammer to us. It is the main tool we use to make a living. It is the main tool amateur photographers use. The world is becoming completely digital and Adobe is there to keep making products for its users.

Apple makes a new product called Aperture, which many of us pros are impressed with but are still more comfortable with Adobe. We cant afford the learning curve on every new product that tries to compete with adobe or macromedia. It takes years to understand and really use the software. It is because of this that Adobe has such a loyal user base. Apples new Intel chip machines require that all software be rewritten to run in its new native language and take advantage of its power and speed. When Adobe finishes the re-write due by the by 2nd quarter, all professionals in the graphic arts industry will happily purchase these upgrades. It just the way it is for people making a living with Adobe products. None of us bitch about it because Adobe always adds useful features in their upgrades. Millions of user will soon be dropping at least $150.00 USD for upgrades. And that is just for one product. Advertising agencies, animation, web and video companies all have to purchase dozens of licenses sometimes hundreds.

I believe this stock will rise again to 80 or 90 then split. It may take a few dips on the way and allow the traders and shorts to make some extra cash but in the end the longs will be rewarded quite will. Best of luck to everyone who likes Adobe. Hope you all get rich whatever your position is!

I bought 3 ipods on Apple's web site on Monday. They arrived today with free shipping. I have been to our local apple store 3 times this week. The store has been PACKED with people every time. The store had plenty of ipods.

New products are comming, Razor ipod phone 1st or 2nd qtr. New desktops and laptops spring or summer. This company always inovates. Just a minor pullback. The stock has been going up since it's split. They said GOOG would never break $200.00. We shall see what Apple's future holds.

I live right near Somerset Mall in Michigan. The Apple store there is ALWAYS busy. I wont even go there on a Sat because of the wait just to pay for your toys. My studio has 9 Macs and we have all been users since the late 80s. I personally own 2 ipods and have purchased 8 in the past year as gifts. Ipods are what all my nieces and nephews want for Birthdays. Apple will keep growing because they are a different computer company. The are there own company. Every other computer out in the market is a PC except for Apple. It is what makes Apple unique. Apple also invents and innovates constantly. They always take risks. Apple was the first to get rid of floppy drives and when the did everyone bitched. How are we going to save dataApple was the first to make self contained computers, the first to make firewire standard, the first to include wireless networking as standard on their laptops, the first company to stop making CRT monitors. They invented File Maker software. Apple sets standards and just plows forward with one good idea after another. I think the fact that they have such a small market share makes Apple the most exciting computer company of the new century. They really have only one place to go and that is up. There is no bubble to burst here because Apple has proven themselves for the past 20 years by creating new and exciting products which people need. It doesnt matter that dozens of MP3s will be released into the market to compete with the ipod because Ipod is branded and considered cool. Owning an Ipod is like wearing Nike shoes. People are willing to pay a premium for the innovation, name brand and recognition. Even when sales level out Apple will be onto something else. Look what Steve Jobs did for Pixar. The man and his companys are and will always be successful.

I am long and strong. Good luck to all longs Enjoy the slow steady ride.

Just wondering what everyone thinks VIAC will do in the next day or so. Support mid 9's then a pop back to 11's. No real feel for this stock yet. I sold some at 14 then 11 this morning. Still holding a bit that I bought at $9.10 hate to see it dump below 9 but hate to sell now and have it pop to 11 Friday or Monday.

    looking for opinions

Still holding my stem. Bought to high, now crossing my fingers we make another run. Long term all stem stock will be fine but short term this market is a mess!

Does anyone have any more info on VIAC in terms of what time they IPO and what the offer price really is. Anyone on the STEM board planing on buying the stock?

I am wondering if it will run up upon release then dump in the late afternoon. So many IPO's seem to do this. Lots of profit taking for those who got shares at the ipo price. Long and strong on STEM!!

    Any one own Dreamworks

Both Pixar and Dreamworks have great products. Dreamworks needs a better track record to boost its shares but at $39.00 it has a lot of room to grow.

Pixar is still the king and may always be. Jobs has always been an inovator!

I am typing on an Apple as we speak. Own 2 ipods also.

    You're right...

People pay $4.00 for a cup of coffee. People use to pay .60 per minute for a cell call. Pay TV !! Another stupid idea. Plasma TV's for $4000.00...who would buy that? The world must be full of idiots buying all this technology.

I think I will go watch the news on my Black and white TV.

    Yeah that will happen.
