I appreciate the fact that Keith tells us what they are going to do, when they plan on doing it, and then delivering on the promise. We'll all be rewarded in the long term.
You are correct that therapeutic tissues are still several years (5?) away from market, but we should find out soon which tissue that may be as Organovo has promised an announcement on that prior to EOY. My money is on a liver patch of some sort as that is what they have the most experience with.
Looking forward to the PR tomorrow announcing the release. What's next? My guess is liver patch ready for further testing but who knows....so many possibilities!
If you meet the people and tour the facility you can't help but come away impressed. Thanks for all the legwork and investment you've done doc, look forward to meeting you at some point in the future.
My recollections of Organovo board meeting - aprox 40 people in attendance, probably half were board members, employees and management and the other half shareholders. Everybody was upbeat and professional (as expected). Enjoyed meeting Keith and a few of the board members. Keith reiterated earnings numbers. Looking forward to many upcoming events like 3D Tissue conference with many big players in attendance and EuroTox in Seville with kidney launch (and maybe more validation or liver?) Revenue recognition cycle continues to shorten due to efficiencies in sales process (some due to master service agreements) and improvements in the production and reporting timelines as they get better at what they do. Still on track to release news on what tissue out of three candidates they will be pursuing this calendar year as well as many investor and scientific conferences going forward keeping Organovo in the public eye. Met with Steve Kunszabo at at facility tour. Impressive facility with lots of young (to me), educated, focused individuals working there. Modular labs still have room to grow with either shift or increased equipment though at some time they will outgrow this facility....which will be a good thing! After tour Steve talked and answered questions for another hour plus. Good guy to represent Organovo as they increase institutional ownership. All in all, I can say they seemed as excited about the future as am I. You could tell there were things they would love to talk about if they could, we'll just have to wait and get the news with everyone else. I would recommend the trip for any long term investor....after all it is San Diego!
Anyone else going? Love to meet for lunch and possible abbreviated tour of the facility afterwards if anyone is interested. My flight home is at 4pm so I have a few hours to kill,,,and maybe bum a ride to the airport! May try that Uber thing rather than rent a car. Also, anyone in the area know a cheap, clean safe hotel near the meeting site.
