The movies LGF has on tap over the next four months are a couple of cuts above what has preceded them. View the trailers at LGF's website. I was impressed. I think LGF has turned the corner, and the weak winter offerings we've witnessed are now in the distant past.
Yahoo Finance has estimated this quarters (June) earnings will decline from last years 2.62 to 1.59 this year. With oil prices down considerably from last year, how is this possible?
bananas: how do you feel this will ultimately play out? I'd like to hear your explanation of how this will eventually be a positive to LGF's shareholders. I'm up for anything positive at this juncture. Thanks in advance.
ezalldee: You said "much bigger deal". What would this deal consist of? And might it occur within a reasonable time frame?
ezalldee: now a lawsuit is being filed against STARZ for agreeing to sell STARZ to LGF for a lowball dollar amount. If LGF was getting such a bargain, LGF stock shouldn't have tumbled after announcing it was buying STARZ. This whole episode is crazy. Maybe LGF could make a movie about it.
At the moment, Humana stock is selling below its price just before the Aetna Humana merger was announced. Since the merger is still intact, this price affords an investor a price that hasn't been available since the merger news. If Humana was a bargain then, it's an even better bargain now, with or without a merger.
I don't believe time will be an issue here. Either Aetna discards what the regulators want, or the deal is off. This should occur soon. Either way.
