I'm usually not a strong proponent of a dividend but Aer might be an exception. Generally Wall Street has never embraced this stock or its business which explains why the PE is always way below market. For a while, VC showed some interest but most have sold many of their shares without buying when the stock dropped to the low 30s. A dividend will add a totally new group of shareholders, mutual funds that require holdings to pay a dividend and individual shareholders looking for return in this low interest environment. A div also places a meaningful floor on the share price.
I realize a div is not the panacea and the stock won't rocket to $45 if one is announced. But maybe it will provide a base from which it can appreciate. No easy answers. cheers
Come on guys, you all have seen this before. Poster makes outrageous and unsubstantiated hogwash claims which cannot be disproved for a couple of weeks. Then, once disproved by events, the poster quietly deletes the the post and disappears. What has be gained? A couple of days of message board banter and hysteria. cheers
Without substantial intervention by the company this stock is going to struggle. While most stocks have recovered over the last few days, AER is still 15% in the red. Company announced they would not be materially affected by Brexit but Wall Street was, and still is, skeptical. There just doesn't seem to be any interest in this company is spite of a stable PE under 10 and money available for more buybacks. Don't know what will b required to see this stock sell at market multiples. Remember when AER was selling in the high 40s.....just a memory now. cheers
Normally when I see 'rumors' in a post re a buyout/merger I tell the poster to 'chill and take your meds'. Ninety nine percent of the time that is the correct response. Nothing happens.
This time it's a little different. A buyout makes more sense. Several txt divisions make good fits. Aviation has a long runway. Drones are becoming more important to the military. TXT has several desirable military contracts. Lmt has strong balance sheet plus high stock price to use as currency. Plus the non core businesses are easily sold.
If not Txt......buyout might be for Avav. GLTA cheers
