Janet...I don't think there is anything wrong with SFL (except the share price)...the problem with SFL is that it is boring and 'not doing anything new' to draw attention...! Stagg...!

    DLNG.

sarge...DLNG is up 26% on my watch list which is pretty good for a stock that has a yield of about 15%...DLNG is now up 53.5% YTD in Total Returns, and 'we can thank William' for the tip on DLNG...that said, I have had a lot of rain (over three inches) and my corn looks OK, but my soybeans look terrible...my soybeans are a very thin stand and the deer have eaten them as fast as they come up, I will probably be collecting crop insurance on my soybeans (I carry 80% of my average yields), which is a lot less than normal crop yields would pay...! Clarification on MORL and other ETNs

mark...please knock it off, the only purpose of your message' was to try to discredit me' again and yes, they pay their dividends as they receive the amounts of money from the notes (nothing different there)...more, NYMT is doing OK, even after you went to the NYMT message board to try and discredit it because I own it...if I am doing everything wrong all the time, how come I am having a good year in the markets...

More, I try to make my messages 'easy for investors to understand'. which is more than I can say for you, as you are always posting long messages and 'talking in circles'...I also think it is weird how you are always saying what will not work (but never say what will work)..! You are more concerned about being a trouble maker and trying to make others look bad than you are in investing...! That said, I am here to try and help other investors make some money, as others have helped me in the past...and I only tell others what I am doing and I let them judge for their selves...! Clarification on MORL and other ETNs

mark...thanks for the clarification, but I already posted on two different messages that MORL is an ETN...that said, BDCL, CEFL and DVHL are also ETN's (Electric Traded Notes)..these notes are not available to the average investors...however, investors still gets twice the return (up or down) with the same amount of invested funds on some of these holdings...i.e. MORL, BDCL, CEFL, DVHL and etc.,..! I strongly suggest that investors that do not understand what an ETN is, should look it up on search (as there is to much for me to post)...! Stagg...!

ed...I know you do not agree with me, but I think you are doing very good (not many investor have been doing as good as you)...the problem is that we have all made so much profits in the past that we have gotten bit spoiled...again, you seem to keep seeing a lot of things that the rest of us sometimes over-look...! Keep up the good work as we all need your intelligent input...! Stagg...!

bayman and board members...I am not trying to be a trouble maker or a pumper; however, did any brokerage firms have investors sign waivers before they bought SDRL, LINE, EVEP, PER, SDT and etc.,...and then some say that the high yield 2X ETN's are risky (???)...! Just something else for smart investors to think about...! Stagg...!

bayman...I have TD Ameritrade and I don't understand this waver thing...MLPL was also a (2x) ETN and they stop it and returned the money to the shareholders because it was losing so much money (of course most energy MLP's have gone down almost 85% and a lot of people are still buying them (not for me and I don't mess with any stock that sends out a K-1 anymore...)...

More, I also think that brokerages 'try to discourage investors' from buying high yield holdings because they like to see investors keep trading and not sit on high yield investments and collect the dividends (how come they do not have investors sign waivers on risky low yield stocks, ???)...brokerages and analyst, do not make money on buy and hold investors (just my opinion)...! Stagg...!

bayman...MORL (is a double leverage (2x) basket of many REITs) and pays the yields the same ways that they receive them...some of their holdings pay monthly, some pay quarterly and some pay on different dates...therefore, the yields from MORL are always higher in January, April, July and October...and lower on the other months (also their holdings (ETN's) can change a bit)...! OT: Stagg - Question on CEFL, DVHL, etc.

    by dividendhunter Jul 1, 2016 11:59 AM

DH...you ask some good questions...when I did a tune up back in early February I bought some holdings that I thought were over-sold with very high yields because, at that time, it looked like a stock pickers paradise (the charts help tell the story)...i.e. I started a position in MORL (yield about 23% and pays monthly) today because of the high monthly yield and because it looks like interest rate hikes are on hold...if MORL goes down less than -23% in one year, I will make a profit and I can reinvest my revenue stream along the way...and if that don't work, I will just do something else (and I always dollar cost average off of my share price starting points)...

That said, I think different than a lot of other investors...i.e. it is not how much the farms are worth, but how much revenue that the farms can produce (I care more about revenue stream than principal, yet over time, revenue stream will build principal)...please remember, that we all know about Total Returns (share price plus the yields), but if we reinvest, 'compound returns always win' (which is more than just the Total Returns)...more, some investors put a lot of cash on the side in case of a market pull-back (and can that work good)...however, I have real good revenue stream (yields) to dollar cost average with when the markets pull-back...! I don't expect to hit a home run every time I am up to bat as long as I keep winning the game...! Stagg...!

Board members...there is probably 'few better places than good' U.S. equities, because the S&P 500 has a lot of stocks that most smart investors would not touch or own...! This is another fine day in the markets and most of us are well pleased (unless they have a lot of funds on the sidelines)...! Stagg...!

gambler...you got me thinking, my BDCL is top heavy compared to my other core holdings (in total value)...I will take some profit on my BDCL and start a position in MORL (the yields are both very close the same)...this move will put my core holdings back in balance, add funds to a different sector and increase my monthly revenue stream...! Thanks for the wake up call (and I also like the color of DHT)...! Stagg...!

bayman...actually my revenue stream is bit over 16% (at this time)...I am thinking about selling some of my BDCL and starting a position in MORL (the yields are both high but also close)...my BDCL is out of balance with my other core holdings and I need to 'take some profit on it' and I will then have more funds invested in a different sector...I also want to increase my monthly revenue stream (getting paid sooner is always better and I still believe this is a stock pickers paradise)...! Thanks for the feedback, as you made an excellent point...! Stagg...!

bayman...here is something to think about, a lot of investors try to increase their principal 'with capital gains' (and sometimes that works very good)...I am different, as I try to increase my principal 'with my revenue stream' (yields)...first, it may be slower, but it is also a bit safer, and I always know ahead of time how much I will have to reinvest in the future (as I can pre-plan my future income)...second, if we have a market pull-back, I can use my revenue stream to take advantage of it, for future portfolio gains, when the markets come back again...! If our revenue stream 'keeps growing' (from our yields), eventually our principal will follow or stay more stable (it just takes a while)...good luck in the second half of this year...! Stagg...!

    Any news on FRO

Board members...FRO is my ugly duck today (probably strong short term profit taking)...however, this snap-back rally has been wonderful as my NRZ, SFL, BDCL and CEFL are all still doing good...my opinion is, that we may headed for a Mid-Summer rally and then we will probably have another Bloody October (time frame) after Labor Day until early November...! I also wonder why Zacks has a strong sell on SFL (???), while a lot of analyst feel it is worth twice as much...! Stagg...!

sarge...Zacks has a strong sell on SFL and I don't have a clue why (???)...I really like my SFL as it has been a long term cash machine for me...however, other analyst feel that SFL is selling 'at half of its current value'...! This has been a sweet post BREXIT rally, FRO is my ugly duck today but my NRZ, SFL and CEFL are all doing fine...! Stagg...!

mark...the start trading date for BDCL is May 25, 2011, the start trading date for CEFL is June 7, 2014 and the start trading date for DVHL is November 13, 2013...they don't look that recent or new to me and I think that 2015 was 'a bit of a down cycle'...! More, none of us walk on water when it comes to investing, but sometimes with the help of other investors, we keep swimming in the right direction...! Stagg...!

bayman...you and I have been on these message boards for well over 10 years and most of the time you beat me in Total Returns by 4% to 6% a year (and that is great)...the only reason that I am doing a bit better than you, at this time, is because of William and bob (and the messages that they posted)...

When NRZ crashed, bob posted ,'an information message' about NRZ, and because of that message I did not sell out my holdings, but added a lot more (I made money twice, once by holding and then by adding a lot more shares, as I was going to sell out)...

William posted some messages about 're-pricing being the new norm' and about 'sustainable dividends' and those messages made me look at things a lot different...I then realized that it was' a stock pickers paradise' and I did a portfolio tune-up based on that outlook...

That said, these message boards have made me a lot of money and that is the reason that I am here...! I would like to take credit for being a outstanding investor, but the fact is, I have had a lot of on-going help from other investors...! Stagg...!

bayman...I have wet dreams about being as good of an investor that you are, lol...however, you may have more funds invested than I do, as I keep a large reserve of cash and working capital (for farming and etc.)...that said, it is very hard to get other investors to understand how much profit can be made in high yield investing over a long period of time...! And again, 'compound returns always win' and we all enjoy getting paid...! Keep the faith and more good luck investing...! Stagg...!

mark...the markets have had a wonderful run-up in the last two days (and since the end of January) and you seem to be in a bad mood again (when everybody else is happy)...that said, my opinion is that high yield investors do better in a slow growth or bear markets and high growth investor do better in a bull market (if they have the right holdings)...I also received some nice dividends today from SFL and I always enjoy getting paid...

Myself, I take no pleasure 'in walking on' other investors, if they have a few bad investments, yet you always make fun of me (and some others) if we lose money and then you get negative if we have a decent run-up in the markets...! mark, I lost a lot of money in 2015 on my investments and I am doing great, at this time, after a portfolio tune -up (and some outstanding messages on these message boards helped a lot)...I am up over 56K since the end of January and you say my investment model is wrong (I must be doing something right)...why do you feel it necessary to try and spoil it for me (???)...you have your investment model and I have mine (and mine works for me)...!
