    JAB Buyout of KKD

I also was a fan of kk donuts. they taste amazing!
I have not tried dunkin donuts recently.. i don't expect them to be as good as kkd of course.
how ever, dnkn is everywhere.. unfortunately, they have not updated the 70s look of the stores.
i assume all the stores are franchise stores.. often owned by immigrants - especially high proportion being from India..
I don't know if dnkn, as a parent company, can help these franchisees change the appearance of the shops..
i can't understand why it has taken so long for dnkn to follow starbucks forumla of friendly and pleasant service, with wifi and better appearance..
I am long on dnkn but for obvious reasons, I am not too crazy about the stock's performance
Can someone explain to me why this would hit $49 in the near term? Or would it not?

    Sentiment: Strong Buy

  • considering the low volume of messages here, it seems that there is very little retail investment..
Hence.. not too many knowledgeable retail investors around here..
I wish someone can explain why dnkn fell badly on mon, tues,
went up a lot on wed.. fell like a rock on thursday..
    fell and bounced today..
Just trying to understand.... what makes this stock bounce around so much?

    Sentiment: Strong Buy

  • I am long on dnkn.. and obviously feeling the pain.
I have no idea whether this will go up or down! I wish I knew.. but I don't.. neither does anyone else know for sure... We are all gamblers.. long or short!
The reason I bet long on dnkn is - their CEO seems smart enough.. and they are changing into a cheaper starbucks model. Starbucks coffee is great but starbucks is very expensive!

    Am I missing something here?
I don't know why it tanked yesterday..
    Any valid thoughts?

    Buy puts

large market cap companies like Enron, worldcom failing is less than 1% of the stock market. I am talking only about $1 billion+ market cap companies. In general the market/house always goes up, over time. House/Market always wins.
Of course, there are exceptional traders who win with puts and also calls. But they are very rare. Notice how Bill Ackman lost in VRX and Herbalife.. Icahn made money.
Often, the people who make a lot of money, long or short, have some kind of "extra info" than us retail investors.. But when they don't have that extra info... they fail like Ackman..
I am long on dnkn.. and obviously feeling the pain.

  • Never mind buying opportunity.. never mind the people who say this goes to $12
just looking for some logical explanation. I am long twtr, because of its name recognition. Turn on the news and someone is always talking about what was on twtr.. it seems to be a great brand name..

Anyway... why would it go up so much in one day, yesterday and why would it fall so badly today? I assume nothing has changed? no new news?

    Sentiment: Strong Buy

  • I heard and read comments that google needs twtr for video.
Is there any basis for those comments?
If so, Can someone help me understand why?
I am long twtr but I know well enough that almost all the time, the "buy out" that share holders like to occur will never happen and Google would most likely not buy twtr.. Us retail investors would never be able to figure out who would buy whom - almost never!

twrs is obviously falling today.. I sure would like to see it going to $16 soon but it seems to be headed lower!

I agree with you arbourpricke.. It is laughable as to how some idiots think they can "manipulate" retail investors like us!
