Wonder why the sp is where it is at? I applaud the effort OJ is taking over on the SI board, but I wish he would take a look at what he posted. How confusing can calculating a take rate be? The number of cars containing the msc option divided by the total number of cars produced or to be more specific you use the same formula each model. Even though there have been a handful of 2016 s sedans reported with msc, dimtint posted that MB has listed msc to be a new option for the s sedan on the 2017 models and production did not begin until 6/21/2016 with initial orders not taking place until today according to the schedule also posted by dimtint. So if OJ is being conservative by using 80,000 s sedans produced annually, how can he use that number if production only began 6/21/2016 that now contains msc? I can see half that amount since production began after half the year is over. And now ND stated that profit will be in months........here we go again.

  • Whomever is running this show, whether it is Hitachi, RFI mgt. or BOD,they better get their head out of their behinds. For those of you that are a bit too young, go back and learn what led to the demise of the Betamax system vs. VHS back in the 70's.
Now we seem to be focusing on MB and their production numbers and well, perhaps it's the only game in town at this moment and well, it shouldn't be. Sunroofs are never where the money will be. I have repeated this over and over. Too many options available that may serve the same purpose, and cheaper. I have always focused on sun visors and side windows in the automotive sector along with commercial buildings in the architectural area.
All one has to do is look at what Continental had to say in regards to their launching of their "intelligent glass system". Although everyone is optimistic, it is still too "cost-intensive" at this time but are expecting "prices to drop quickly due to competing technologies" and "it doesn't matter which technology they use."
Cost continues to be the enemy and as long as Hitachi can control prices at the film production level..........Hello Betamax!
