Pilodialcyst, I'm really more interested in why you rated MO a Strong Sell. Have time to explain your rating? I've held the stock for over five years now, and all they've done is increase the dividend every year and the share price has been going steadily going up. Thanks for any info.

As a veteran myself, and with ALL DUE RESPECT to the 4 guys GPLS72 is referring too, I might remind him that: so are all the brave US MARINES that died at the barracks in Lebanon, and so are all the innocent civilians that died at the World Trade Center. All these deaths aren't including the number of people, Americans and others, that died in terrorist attacks on US Embassies from 2001-2008. All of these other people died and are still dead! All of these deaths occurred during Republican Administrations. Republicans for whom I had voted. For GPLS72 to counter an allegedly true comment about Trump University being a scam by comparing it to Benghazi, shows in my opinion, a level of brain washing and or ignorance that I cannot possibly understand! BTW, this is supposed to be a GE Message Board. As a GE shareholder for many years, I am a lot more interested in discussing here when GE is going to start paying shareholders some of the CASH that they've acquired over the last few years by selling some of the company (our) assets?

Would one of you gentlemen please be kind enough to provide some information for me on this subject. I have done a little research and have either missed it or can't find an explanation of exactly what it means. I have read that GE has frozen its dividend for 2016. Does this mean that there will be no increase in the current dividend this year, but that GE will continue to pay the current dividend amount quarterly? Or does it mean that they have totally suspended paying the current dividend for the rest of 2016 and current shareholders will receive no dividend payments at all? I have held this stock for many years for dividend income and I thank you for any information you can provide.

  • As a holder of MO for 5+ years, I was just wondering if anybody had any thoughts about the possibility of the stock splitting? I am very happy with the dividend, and plan to continue to hold and no plans to sell. Thanks for any input.

Barnes and noble is the epitome of scam in stocks

Hello UGGS8788. You may be 100% correct and know more than I do. However, I just read an article in the weekend newspaper on 3/6 saying that paperback book sales were up 12% and that the computer versions down 12%, This was supposed to be good news for BKS. As yet, I have no position in this stock. However, I am considering buying some after reading that newspaper article.

As a long term hold of Altria, another quarterly dividend announcement is always good news. However, my question is in regards to what the company is going to do with the boatload of cash and shares that it received in the recent sale of part of "OUR" assets to BUD? One would think that some type of SPECIAL DIVIDEND would be very appropriate to all shareholders of Altria!

Hello. I also own a fair amount of CYS, but I am starting to be more than a little concerned. Out of curiosity, are you still long and bullish on the stock? I would appreciate your response and any information you could provide. Thank you!

    Proxy Vote Mid-November

The whole point of my November 25, 2015 Post was to ask Boxwinner where he got the information HE posted on October 6, 2015. The month of November is almost over. There has been no Proxy vote nor any information regarding a reverse split that I have seen. As a long term hold of FGP myself, I wanted to know where Boxwinner saw or obtained his information from because it is very important to me in deciding whether or not I keep this stock. I have been very happy with the distribution for several years now. Thank you.

Hello Boxwinner. I was just wondering if you had any more information on the Proxy Vote in Mid-November and the Reverse Split that you posted about on October 6, 2015? Thank you.

OFFER FROM BUD TO ACQUIRE SAB-MILLER

    by tjpandkhp Nov 12, 2015 12:31 PM

According to information I found there are 1.9B shares of MO. If those shares are divided equally into the 2.5B MO is supposed to receive in this transaction, that comes out to $1.315 per share in cash if my information and math is correct. I wouldn't mind receiving that amount as a special dividend as a result of this transaction. That's not even mentioning the shares of the new company MO is receiving.

    Sentiment: Buy

Hello Simon168_99. That would be great if those other companies were interested in buying PYPL. Would you care to speculate about a possible sale price? I'm not sure whether to hold my shares of PYPL or to just sell them and possibly look at more V or MA. Thanks.

  • Does anyone have any information on how this sale is supposed to affect us as individual shareholders of MO? Do we as shareholders receive any of the cash involved or any of the shares of the new combined company that MO receives in the sale? We have held our shares of MO for several years and we are quite happy with the increasing dividends and appreciation of the stock. However, in this transaction MO is in fact selling a part of "our assets" in each share os SAB-Miller to BUD. It seems reasonable to me that we (all MO shareholders) should receive part of the proceeds of this sale for the part of SAB-Miller we are losing in our individual shares of MO.

Sorry to let you know brilliantstorm, I read the same information about the dividend cut, the amount, and with .08 put toward future growth. I don't know if the information is correct, only that I read the same information. I bought this stock for the "safe dividend" .... any cut doesn't make me happy either. I also didn't like that in the same article, it was also said that they were planning to issue more common stock. I still have a profit and a reasonable dividend with this stock even with the decrease in price, but not the dividend rate that I wanted when I bought it.
