Greetings Fellow Readers and GMAC,
The 9 month update on financials showed me that getting the new products completed, approved, and introduced didn't slow down our income activity much . . . . which for a small company like SKVY is a common thing to happen. I also didn't expect much for sales prior to patent approval - as that would have been a dangerous effort while development was still ongoing and before the patents were applied for and approved.
Still, any shareholder waiting for success, is impatient to "see the flame lit" and as yet the flame is just going to get started. Patience is tough when it seems it is ALWAYS required and not fulfilled. We've been waiting quite a number of years for the dream to develop better.
I also expected that larger sale potentials take a longer prospect curve . . . however I hope we also don't lose focus on what I consider a very big market potential for us . . . the small and mid size customer potential we now inherit with the new product capabilities. Sure Dorms and Corporate office complexes would be nice - but think how many small schools and individual office buildings could benefit GREATLY from our curve and corner capability. Too often in our past - big name entities with large scale warehouses or big box buildings were our effort because WE COULDN'T compete for those small and medium office buildings and phone centers, and small schools.
But the other potential mentioned in the recent news is one we typically never heard anything about - the separate label business we own part of. And that one would be a dandy profit feeder to our small business as we ramp up the new markets in cameras "U, curve, and corner".
I'm thinking the new parts of the label business could be more substantial in 2014 than any of us might have expected even just a year ago - while we're keeping our eyes on the bigger markets we approach.
Patience still engaged as an absolute requirement :-)

4. One of the things I like about our majority owners - is they don't have to "give us" anything for numbers or financials - because the exchange we are on does not require it. Yet they have and continue to still offer numbers and financials because they know it is good for us to have them. Earnings could come out at anytime - or no time - because it isn't required of them. What I believe, is that Murdoch has been quiet of late. We saw several PR activities in July and August and none to speak of since. That tells me one of two things:
a. we had to take a step back in order to take two steps forward - it could mean we have a supply or quality issue to correct before moving forward - or it could mean we have too much interest but no decisions, or the interested client size of business is larger than expected - and bigger companies take longer time to decision. In other words - product issue, or selling time issue.
b. The other possibility is "we got a better idea" - and want to implement that before rolling out the public awareness effort. It could mean a better marketing method - it could mean a product enhancement to the brand new products - or it could mean some form of "partnership" interest that needs to get settled before announcement.
For me, I understand that a very small company with new exciting products is just as stressed as having no new products at all - being small - you want to do "big things" but it takes time. My gut tells me Murdoch has recognized that this "is the time" to do things RIGHT, not do things fast. Management looks at a couple of months like its a week - while anxious shareholders look at everything like its a year :-)
Personally, if I were a betting man, I'd say Murdoch wants to be making some things happen before he tells us that things "are happening". I don't mean he's playing it safe - I mean he wants to have it running before he tells us it is even started :-)
Its Oct. 29th 2013
And GMac had posted recently
Sorry to bother again but you seen to be the only active on this board. I believe in this company and the importance/value that their products can provide to security on multiple levels across organizations.....any idea when the earnings come out (I think Yahoo is incorrect)? Do you think Murdoch will provide any guidance for next year?
Greetings GMAC and Fellow Readers,
Well GMAC, its not "a bother" to talk about a stock you like - and I do like SKVY. But liking something and watching watching it seem to crawl at a snails pace is still a tough combination :-) I can give you some opinions - but "answers" seem in short supply :-)
1. While I believe the products SKVY is now offering are of good or better value - its the management/ownership that secures and maintains my faith and ownership. I think Murdoch has both his heart and his head in the right place. They didn't need to keep shareholders "in the loop" of ownership - but they have. And they've hung in there when it would have been alot easier to quit.
2. Murdosh and Furst have also bought stock when they didn't need to - and kept debt away with their own money - which to me means there is value to be gotten and they don't want it taken away from themselves (or us).
3. As far as offering "guidance for next year" - I'm sure they could throw out some possible numbers - but I'd rather they give us actual current sales numbers as they develop - because that is what will actual allow us to draw our own projection lines as time progresses. To me - these are new new new products and it takes time to get momentum developed on the size of budget we have for marketing. We can promise the moon - but I'd rather see us deliver reliable delivery schedules and completed installs and let the products (and customer statements) push our cart down the road :-)

good question. the original plan was to have the new product announcements/rollout targeted for early-mid September.. So that would be 1 month ago. My understanding is that Murdoch opted to increase/improve the rollout impact by having additional website capability to actually SHOW how the new camera system operates in a live mode. This requires an active website instead of a passive one and a live outdoor observation location in real time (a new customer's parking/access area with new camera technology).
To me it sounds like a great long term benefit - but it adds a bit of complexity and bandwidth need which can add to development time to complete and test it prior to announcing and displaying it. The point is - if you have multiple people viewing at the same time (as in dozens), and you don't want a hurky-jerky display effect - its an advancement from the current single website SKVY had. Like you, I'm anxious to see a market impact from the announcements and new interest that may be created . . . . however /i much prefer a pile of new prospect/customers get excited and feed SKVY's coffers :-)
Maybe we'll be thankful before Thanksgiving :-)
Catch U later,
Greetings Grandpa and Joe,
The original plan was a mid September announcement - then it seemed to potentially be a new target of early September.
Its my understanding that the "roll out" of the new camera product is slightly delayed.
No - its not delayed because of any reason other than a real simple one . . . . they got a better idea. My understanding is SKVY potentially wants to coincide the actual announcement/roll out of the new camera products and PR process with some additional improvements and capabilities in website usage.
Of course before going live with it - I would assume they are doing considerable testing so they don't get a situation like the Obamacare exchanges had on opening day recently - grid lockup.
That's my understanding. No delays in the camera approval and potential - I expect the selling and marketing efforts are already quietly in action. I don't know how long the delay will be - but I'm assuming yet sometime this month of October. Then we'll know 2 things - about the cameras, and if the delay and potentially "better idea" can actually be melded together for a better "story" communication to would-be customer prospects and of course investors like ourselves.
P.S. Personally - I was looking forward to a early/mid September roll out process . . . . but given the market situation and the government shutdown . . . . I'm really really glad it didn't happen earlier. Assuming the gov't won't be shutdown for only a few more days . . . the market and customer potential interest also, should be much more able to notice new and positive developments in business announcements and technology gains. When SKVY comes out with their roll out - it doesn't mean the earth will "move" - but it would sure be nice to have it come out when negatives weren't the focus of the week :-)
Catch U later,
Absolutely. I believe Murdoch's message is clearly that the goal is not gross profit - but net profit and I believe his perspective is measured in quarters not years.
Why? Because they have their costs further reduced by 16% and their market prospect potential has grown exponentially. That doesn't mean SKVY will grow exponentially but a real key to his past 4 PR releases on 3 camera customers and 3 new label products was "they tested the markets" and "they were price competitive in winning the bids". Murdoch isn't in this to gain a "draw" - he wants to win. IMO.
Greetings Fellow Readers,
2nd quarter report is just out. It reminds you of just before sunrise when you can see things getting lighter clear sky, and fresh crisp air, but you can't yet say the sun is shining . . . . its 20 minutes or half an hour before that is accurate.
Things look promising :-)
Greetings Fellow Readers,
I'm posting today to admit to an error regarding my posts of SKVY.
Over the last 2 months SKVY has had several announcements regarding new camera customers and the CSI new products as well.
Well I goofed regarding the camera/new client announcements.
July 24th was the announcement of a South African camera sale through the "world's largest video integrator".
July 30th was the announcement of a $230,000 purchase order from one of America's largest fashion retailers.
August 8th was the completion of a new installation of a VideoRailway™ (VR) system in Canada's largest retailer.
Somehow I got July 30th announcement and August 8th's announcement combined in my thinking.
In effect - there have been 3 VRailway system announcements recently - not two. In addition there was the recent Sept. 11th new products announcement through SKVY's subsidiary CSI of Canada.
Catch U later,
Greetings Fellow Readers,
I'm seeking some input regarding SKVY vs. what I formerly didn't know about CSI.
1. SKVY works in two areas - surveilance camera systems/techniques . . . . . and label - tag- rfid - library security products for retail, production/manufacture/inventory control, and self service applications.
2. So my understanding with the rf/rfid/library system work - that we did it. However CSI's website seems to indicate they do the same things as well as consulting, etc. etc.. So do we do our own contracts, farm it out to CSI, or we do things for CSI as well as our own?
Let's use some examples:
a. SKVY's library system for university applications like New York. Is that our system, CSI's, or our system but their products?
b. The three new products announced - did we (SKVY) develop them, did CSI develop them, or did we work on it jointly?
What's the purpose of these questions? To find out who actually has the expertise and knowledge.
3. Some few years ago (maybe like 2 ) - SKVY was in the process of hiring 2 sales people for the U.S. markets (because dealers/resellers were doing Europe etc. etc.). Do we know what happened to those two positions - hired and gone, hired and working now, or never fully hired and implemented?
Catch U later,
Your brain may be smokin' but your memory is sure working :-)
As I recall, it went from Video Sentry to Knogo and then it went down a great deal. Then Murdoch (about 2000 or 2001) and his company merged/acquired and it became Sentry. I remember ADT/Sensorrmatic talk in a later time (03 or 04 ???). And I remember some dust up but my memory is that SKVY was cameras and RFID form Video Sentry and library and labelling from Murdoch's company.
I don't remember anything ever actually happening with ADT to move the price or sales activity up. And i remember too many years of sub 50 cents :then sub 25 cents and now sub 10 cents :-)
I think its time for SKVY to take up the theme from the Halloween Charlie Brown show - "oh great pumpkin, we've waited all night for you to rise from the pumpkin patch . . . are we not worthy of treats"?
After some quick study on CSI - it appears the following:
1. CSI appears to be a private Canadian company
2. CSI appears to be an actual 15 employee operation that does at least some of its own manufacturing of the tags, labels etc..
3. The quantity of products and variety of areas it works in is considerable.
It appears, that CSI has more than a little value, yet I don't recall ever hearing or reading anything about them in relation to SKVY. I also don't see any valuation attributed to it in some past financials nor on SKVY's website prior to today. Even more important is that as a subsidiary of SKVy we own majority control of the company (51%).
Talk about an unexpected . . . and unexplained value LOL
I'd also mention that it doesn't appear that CSI has any "cross ownership" in SKVY - as they are not listed as insiders or part of any options/warrrants.
Combine this CSI surprise, with the new label products surprise, with the several months ago "Kapusta" 3rd party hiring - - - I'd have to say - it seems I know less and less about SKVY all the time :-)
Any chance this CSI ownership - is something quite new? It seems odd that no past PR or media releases by Murdoch have ever mentioned it or all the many other labelling/ID options far beyond the RFID and library labelling we all knew SKVY had.
Greetings Joe and Fellow Readers,
I read the CBS Marketwatch announcement early this a.m. with some level of confusion until I got to the end of it.
Obviously, new products in the RFID/labelling areas and a new market potential are very pleasant to hear as shareholders.
However - when did we become a 51% owner of CSI ? What did we have to give to have that ownership? I have seen no media announcements or filings detailing anything about CSI. Has anyone else seen or heard anything prior to today?
P.S. By the way, this article didn't mention anything about our new camera products (obviously because it isn't CSI related). So that is still coming out also. Lets see Football season is back - and SKVY is announcing new things - fall is starting out good :-)
