Seems that there is news trickling out after a long dry spell. The latest media presentation created 7-29-15 outlines updates to the studies is lined up and hopefully the exposure will be continued... Hopefully the upward momentum persists for a while...
As I stated the shorting begins prior announcement then news hits for stage 2 then event for phase 3... supporting your comments.
The sad thing is that from an investor perspective they have been right on.
We are after all investors so that is the measure. being short or long can be changed any time. From what I have seen after the 4 for 1 R/S most of the shorts are profitable below $10 -$10.50. The return on $10 to $7.50 is pretty good for a year. I suspect that the real damaging party is the buyers of the offerings. Typically the stocks are run up prior announcement then drop on heavy volume prior the offering... INO was close to 11 before the news... then the shares traded down as shares purchased to drive the price up are dumped... then the announcement, followed by additional dumping... hedged by the coming shares.
INO has handed the shorts a winning hand via the actions over the last 18 months.
They easily can cover at a profit.
Personally I don't sell short, I am long to a significant degree. I believe INO will provide a great return IF results prove successful, but I understand (unlike many on the board) that this is not guaranteed. The last offering was one of the worst executions I have experienced. so yes I am disappointed and somewhat conflicted over my holdings.
Last word... the pumping and negative #$%$ on this board are almost intolerable... Examples
- after successful 5120 phase 3 price will be 600 - 1500 dollars (ok can you narrow it in - is it before 2030, does a loaf of bread cost $2000? how many dilutions ect
-35 years of whatever - who cares I am investing in the future not the past.
Last, I am long and would love to have some conversations but seems that only positive statements are tolerated on this board by most (not all of the longs). We should be getting a message to IR that shareholders are holding the company accountable and expect actions that are in our best interest. The only thing that they rely on us for is to keep holding which keeps up the share price. That enables them to raise funds at an advantageous share price... that's all we provide....
It should be scary for anyone that understands the space and characteristic of biotech. The rate of success is not good and the number that burn thru dollars for decades is significant. Timing IS important and anyone that considers the results as a guaranteed is ignoring reality.
As an investor my interest in the company is purely on returns... no investor puts money into a stock hoping it goes far lower so they can buy more... I'd rather buy on the way up as my holdings then increase in value... instead of buying as it goes down which provides me a lower cost average per share (at a loss).
If this is such a no brainer then why is it not seen by the major players in the industry. Why are the insiders not purchasing shares (quiet period - what for the last year).
I am long very concerned and yes unhappy with the performance... numbers that I was unhappy with not long ago now seem like dream prices.... I recall a discussion with another that was concerned after the offering that he wouldn't be able to get in near $8... right now he can get another 12% share count wise.
"Take off your blinder's and your shall see."
I take it that your answer is your way of saying that you don't have a clue. Please explain specifically what you see so clearly. I see a stock that has spent a year retreating from 14 dollars to 7. I see no news no partners and no guarantees
please explain why no one in the industry recognizes this... where are the partners, buyer, and even the insiders?
Congrats, if I had over 13 million I would probably be less frustrated with the stocks performance... My holding represent over 9% of my portfolio and while I am not taking a substantial loss (thanks to options and longer term positions) I am negative on positions that were once quite profitable.
Unlike many on this board I recognize that there is risk in any investment. It is not just waiting to success and reward, things can go south.
Thanks for the rare civil reply
Interesting that you took my meaning, but actually its you that mentions sticking his head in the sand not me. As an investor I am still holding but I see no way that I can defend this companies performance.
The desired outcome is not to reduce the value of your holdings by 50% when you invest. My holding now are only worth a hair over 200K...
Given the focus on raising capital last year, managing the stock price is critical as there is a direct relationship to the price dilution can be executed at... the stock has move down over from $14 last year...
This got a thumbs down from me as I watched it on April 8th... if that's the best that INO has to offer for updates then I begin to understand the stock price... And all this quiet period non-sense doesn't hold up as its been really about a year since we had an update. With the cash that INO has they should be initiating phase 3... This stock has gone from an A- to an D for execution and information... One last word - DWARFING
congrats on your foresight... The as year has ben very disappointing and he torture never stops.. The performance has not lived up to the hype from early last year... instead the company has gone silent
no new partner interest
Plenty of dilution
I anything buy in small lots or sell cash covered puts to get in
Bio also has a horrible track record for failures... Its not merely a matter of waiting long enough... Seems very ostrich like of a strategy.
the low volume at these prices is the only good sign... unfortunately its not as good as one would hope for... be nice to see INO get back over 10.
