  • Disney should consolidation at these levels, it will be healthy for longs and shorts, other wise could we see profit taking?

    1. Option buyers are minting a bundle
    2. But DIS becomes X dividend soon
    3. Option price is expensive, based on Dividend
    4. Buying is genuine and 2 hours volume is 1,768,458
    5. Can it continue with no consolidation?

Let us see how last hour does to Disney price and volume.

If I was short, I would cover as losses keep piling. Are there smarter traders, Mutual funds and Hedge funds than all of us?

    Good luck!
    Sincerely,

  • It may take a few more days or weeks, before we get any clues, is it going higher, consolidation, or one more leg down. So far fundamental and technical are of not much help.

Someone seems to feed into each rally, and stock seems to go down and then give a feeble rally.

    Good luck!

    Sincerely,

  • 1. It may take two or three days before breakout
    2. Very good volume on Friday
    3. One more day of 3,000,000 volume and price will create the momentum
    4. Long-term chart only needs 2% move in price.
    5. Right stock in the right group

    4. SCLN has spiked every time profit taking
    5. With 4,608,123 shares short it could take a week to cover shorts.

    Disney price change = 90.80-89.03 = 1.77…not big change.

The big increase of 6,174,982 occurred when Disney stock went down to $82.03.

  • Google Search, Chasing Stable Growth

    1. WHEN ANALYZING media conglomerate Walt Disney (DIS), the biggest holding in the fund, Morley says it would be a mistake to think of it primarily as a Hollywood studio, subject to fickle audiences and the need for regular box-office hits.
    2. The most valuable part of the operation, he argues, is sports network ESPN, with its long-term contracts and dedicated audience. “The downside is that people stop paying cable subscriptions,” he says. Still, that hasn’t happened yet, and the business is stable.
    3. Along with the Disney Channel and ABC Family, ESPN is part of the cable networks group, which makes an enormous contribution to overall profit.
    4. Operating profit for the group totaled some $6.5 billion, about half the total $13 billion in operating income for the company in the 12 months through September.
    5. Revenues from cable networks amounted to 31% of total sales. Separately, Disney’s theme park business is seeing occupancy trending higher as the economy improves. That should result in higher revenues. And then there are dividends, which have been hiked consistently over the past 10 years. The recent yield is around 0.9%.

  • For traders Chinese Biotech turn around situation, stock must make a new high to prove it is being accumulated.

There are less than 20 people who determine the price of stock. Price action, no bids or only 100 or 200, then suddenly a few thousand trade up or down.

Stock and the company are mostly in China and the market there are getting very speculative.

We can expect a good up move with volume above 1,000,000 shares before it will top out.

    Good luck!

  • skepticalearthling... You just made a great point! The breadth and depth of this Market does not yet suggest anything other than to either be a stock picker or quick on the draw because on the whole there is still lots of red all over the place

    1. Disney was up for 7 days
    2. After big advance everybody knows
    3. Dividend story is on CNBC, Bloomberg news, Fox Business channel
    4. Disney is all over newspapers, WSJ, Fortune, Barron’s and Public Channels
    5. Everyone giving recommendations buy and accumulate for children.
    6. All Analysts are piling on with buy recommendations and breathtaking predictions
    7. How high is Disney going from here, that is all your ………

In 1928 at the peak of US market, J.P. Morgan, asked about the US steel (US steel was part of DJA) about the orders. The manager said, we are booked for steel, for all we can make, the company is working full shift and we cannot keep up with orders.

J.P. Morgan called his brokers and sold all his stock in US steel.

    When asked why?
He responded, “we can’t get news better than that.”

US steel made a high few days later and never came closer to that price.

As a trader, you should get on running train, and get off while it is still running, once it slows down, it can stop and take reverse direction.

    Good luck!

When a stock is with 2 or 3% from new high, support has no meaning. It has to be only weekly graph, not daily.
    Good luck!

There are lots of options of Disney and most of these holds will not exercise, it is expensive stock.

That should create some down side by tomorrow.

I will like to get back very soon, buy not today.

I am quite sure by the end of this year you will make a bundle. Weekly Stock graph of Disney is over extended.

Good luck to all those who are still holding. I need little rest, and this battle for investment survival there are folks who are very smart and it is most difficult to make money with Worlds best investors and traders.

Disney can turn on in a dime, company buying more stock.

But index selling, if market drop sometimes create Golden opportunity .

I think some traders will take profits before the weekend.

    Good luck!

    Sincerely,

    Carolyn Novice

  • Will try to come back later at lower price, maybe.

You are smarter and I am and always and be Novice, I am a trader.

    1. Good dividend is big news
    2. Shorts have to pay dividend
    3. Reinvestment of dividends, brokers have to buy stock.
    4. Index related investment change with price.

Disney can do lot unusual things but for long term it is very rewarding.
