All I need is to hit 15.76

Dunaway: Nice. Can't quibble with 12%. I'd take it, too. These days it's clearly all about trading. Equally clear is this equity is going nowhere fast. Neither into the cellar or to the moon. To the extent it's a reflection of sentiment in general about the sector this equity is not loved.....errrrr.....excepting amongst those who're churning the float to high heaven. In that regard this is their darling...

    Bid $15.41. Did I mention churn? ;-)

Sure it'll get hit. The $64 question is...when? What day? Heh! I jest...but remember....if BAC was an oil tanker it'd be a heavily loaded one. It's going nowhere fast....

    PM bid going into open....$15.67.

Right: "....means nothing unless you post your buys in real time." LOL! True enough. My comment is harmless. Just passing time in semi-conversation. I care less what you or others may think. I just toss it out there for consideration. I always let market actions determine the efficacy of any statements. ;-) Let's see how it plays out. Note I got a small, additional PM bid hit just now at $6.45. Bid now $6.55. I consider anything up thru ~$6.50 area as "gift" material.

Not that I don't agree but remember something....the Forbes article was basically an interview of someone who appears to be talking his book. It's always a good idea to consider the source when reviewing such as that....even if you think he's correct. ;-)

Meanwhile MNKD bid is....$6.61. Let's see how it plays today...

Nest: HA! Glad I closed my short in AAPL before earnings. Bird-n-hand stuff and all that. Besides.....I seldom hold trading positions into an earnings moment. Experience tells me that's just unnecessarily asking for trouble. Didn't flip to the buy side, though. Too bad....AAPL in PM is at...what....$118.36? Won't chase...but could be another short side play setting up there. Whenever an entire herd of analytical types comes out mooing the same tune that generally means things are gonna go exactly the opposite. But I'll wait and see...

Speaking of waiting....BAC bid at $15.73 in PM. Another day....another chug and churn fest I'll bet....won't complain about it....it is what it is. Let's see if it even trys to get north of $15.80 today...

Sure I'll go out on a limb and say it'll get back into that area sometime this year. ;-)

  • I've maintained a longer term downtrend line on my chart with this equity. It starts back at ~$10.25 last July 7, 2014 . A second touch on the chart is the ~$9.84 level of July 23rd. Draw that line thru to today. The bid has stayed under it until...yesterday. The line, as of close yesterday, sits at ~$6.25. So....breaking north of it represents a potential trend change and reversal what with where the bid closed ($6.35). You can color me intrigued. One day do not a trend reversal make; but the buy side set-up is becoming clear. Let's see how it plays out. Disclosure I've been judiciously building a buy side position in the mid-low $5's.....so consider the source.

    Just my 2pennies worth...

Mdb: Death spiral? Geeez.....a bit over the top in the hyperbole department, eh? I don't consider it a spiral, much less death one, when the bid has gone from a bit less than $15 on Jan 16 to where it closed yesterday (PM bid now $15.71). Unless you consider the spiral in an upward direction? ;-)

So for now it is what it is, and no amount of hyperbolistic (is that a word?) commentary will urge in along according to your emotional dictates. Play what is, now what you expect is my general rule in this game.

Speaking of which....let's see how it plays today...

    BAC resistance $15.95 / support $15.72...

Doubtful that this gets easily shaken off. It'll all come down to the earnings biggies to shake the funk or accentuate it. One TA thing, though....I was overlooking this....there was a post earnings downside gap that occurred on Jan 15. The bottom of that gap sits at....$15.70. So go figure the bid is having issues with that line today. Bid $15.65 and the way the ask is stacked I'd say that's as far as it go into close....bid now .64...

Just more of the nervous and twitchy out there talking themselves down. As for BAC it looks like Master does not want Pooch closing north of, or even close to, $15.70. For a short time there it looked like he was gonna let da Pooch recover. But nope....current bid $15.66. I suppose, in the greater scheme of things, this ain't all that bad....? Nobody ever said this one was going to be a moon-shot.....

Look'it THAT! Dow now off only 192pts...this from being down over 350pts. I'm shocked, SHOCKED I tell ya! ;-)

Oh...and gap theory works? BAC got to $15.78 before Master stepped in to yank him back to (now) $15.68. So in theory gap theory works?

But now we're getting into the final hour. Let's see how it all plays out from here....sell side back doing what it always does with this equity....

APA? Hmmm....used to play 'em but haven't really tracked them much of late though I used to like them. Down below $60 they'd have been too juicy to ignore...and kind'a that way even now at mid-$64 line...especially if you think there's any truth to gap theory....looks to be setting up to test an assault on that ~$73 to~$65 downside gap that opened back early Dec? Hmmm....might be worth a gambit if the sector has stabilized...which...down here I'm not sure there's much more wringing out to be done....

  • highlowsel highlowsel 23 hours ago Flag

Sure. If they miss I expect to witness all the pundits of the "know" running around in circles with their hair on fire screaming "We's doomed, DOOOOMED!"

Or sumthin' to that effect. You know...the general theatrics of what their profession actually is; Entertainers. ;-)

Seriously...I'd expect them to (continue to) retrench. Ummm....disclosure...I've a short position in them from a higher pps....one which I will close going into this event. I've got me profits locked...no point putting the 'ol head into a guillotine purposely. I'm a bit attached to it. ;-) I'll revist post event....

Meanwhile...more to the point...BAC bid back again at $15.63,

No truth to the theory....yet. Pooch started to get some freedom and then, YANK! Master pulled da Pooch to heel again at .54. The Pooch is being played like an accordion at a Polka-fest....

    Bid now .57

Yup. Bid now back basically at the bottom of the downside gap that opened this morning. $15.60. Let's see if there's any truth to TA gap-theory. ;-)

Not to sound like Tom Foolery (heh) but the Bot's have control of all that you see and hear (can you guess the show I just referenced?). Dow off over 350pts currently...but these days that's almost routine....and what's also routine is what comes next.....you bet they bring it all back in to being down less than 100pts? Let's see if this WAG is anywhere close to correct or not. ;-)

    BAC bid now $15.62.

Bots and machines herding the overall markets south due to all the stuff out this AM. It happens. MU bid now back where it was oh so temptimg back on jan 20th...that bbeing the ~$29.50 area. Okay...so....I'm in on the buy side for a trade down just south of $29.50. My "take the monies and run" out is the usual +10pennies.
