Yeah...look at the "big guns" in the sector. They're being slaughtered....'course....since they led the market up off recent lows it stands to reason that they'd be ripe for being sold....aided and abetted by the issues swirling around GILD; politics, etc..

    Bid $9.80.

LOL! Yeah...I'm right there with ya....the bid spent most of the day bouncing around an uptrend line I've got that starts from the Feb 24 ~$11.66 level. I decided to go long a buy at $14.05 but do not plan to hold it into tomorrow.

Ummm...true...excepting the SP.....but then again...BAC, Merrill, the whole shebang of the financial game...that probably wouldn't exist as it'd have been nuked by the unmitigated (by them) explosions in all those CDS-styled WMD's, eh? 'Course...in some folks eyes that would have been a good thing. Bottom line? Late 2008/9 bore witness to the simple fact that all across the business and political spectrum there is more than enough blame to spread around....

Don't know from all in but I infer you got in somewhere in the low $9.70's? Nice..for now. Bid $9.84. Let's see if the final hour shows a bounce-back from all the selling that dove the bid for most of the day...

Indeed. I always view such as that as a "tell" of an eminent change in direction...ummm...and this isn't meant specifically to BAC. Generally speaking the characteristic is viewed as a "tell" of impending pps change. 'Course....here's the art....it's the knowing of the "when" of the change that separates the pro's from the amateurs. Not everyone can do it...especially consistently. This is not unlike....let's say...American football...I can throw a football. And I can even throw it fairly well. But I ain't a NFL QB. Not even close....but at least I can stand in the stadium? ;-)

Or maybe the big boy/girl players of this game recognize the fact of the meeting and are now busy yanking the bid south to garner cheapies to turn around and sell higher post meeting? You know...carnival "barker" style. But stuff like that never happens does it? Not in our free market Capitalist self-correcting system does it? HEH! Meanwhile...bid $9.72.

Mencel: Timeframe for healthcare sector turn around? Hmmm....I dunno...to my mind you can't put a hard date on when it turns around. There's no such thing. But given certain demographic realities...meaning the Boomer generation ain't getting any younger...I figure demand will insure a better future than not for the sector overall...let's say over the next few years, 3 to 5 years. But before I even think about going there let's see what happens if Trumpie or the Clintonistas get elected, eh? Heh! For now that whole act is a carnival just bound to roil the group....and probably dam near everything else, too....

    My2nd:

LOL! Thanks for the chuckle. But BAC_trader does touch on important aspects from a TA trading perspective. The only thing I'd point out is that if TA were truly a science there'd be a lot more billionaires in this game than not. TA, it's interpretation, is all art and little "science." To a certain extent it's akin to reading tea-leaves. Don't misconstrue...if it ain't obvious I use TA. I like TA. But when using it always be sure to juxtapose your attempted "reads" against the real-time action in the paper you're playing....from this you can derive the "herd sentiment" related to that which your tracking. It ain't foolproof by any stretch of the imagination...but it may help you to avoid being trampled in any stampede.

    Bid $14.06.

Oh...by the way...overall the sector is being whirlpooled by the likes of GILD, etc.. Check GILD's 5 day chart if you want a heart-attack. That's a biggie in the sector...its roilings are bound to ripple out and hit everything else in the sector.

  • highlowsel highlowsel 14 hours ago Flag

Tmastria: LOL! Free falling indeed. Always like Tom P. Could be. There is one truism I believe to be....true (heh). And that is the market always knows. It's not an individual poster who knows. Or an individual professional player or analyst that knows, necessarily. But the market....it always seems to know. Or at least thinks it does. Bottom line? Never discount it's actions...it's trying to tell you something....though interpreting said actions is akin to reading tea leaves....

Speaking of which...$9.75 has broken...bid $9.74. GSCO just dropped their bracket to .63...so my WAG is the bid is about to range into the .60's....

And there it is....bid $9.75. GSCO lowered their bracket....but not buy much...now sitting below bid at $9.69 showing their usual 6.3K. So this might indicate this downside selling run is about to end....but with the above ask bracket at $9.89 this doesn't mean we'll see $10 again today. I think it's gone until it...returns.

    Bid $9.77

  • highlowsel highlowsel 15 hours ago Flag

Ummmm...."Let that happen?" Ummmm....not to point out the obvious but Frost has zero say in how the market sets his paper's valuation. It's all market dynamics at play....and it always is...the bid is being walked south. Firmly, strongly and consistently. Just as it was walked up from the ~$8 area...the bid just hit $9.81 and there's still no sign that the sell side pressure is abating. $10 was a critical support threshold south of the even more critical 38.2% Fib retracement. Both have failed....for now....the only thing I'll point out is it's not atypical for an equity to be so moved ahead of earnings. It could rebound...then again...thoughts of lower still could be correct. Regardless this much is clear to me. The paper is in play right now.....and the interests driving the play are on the sell side.....

    Bid $9.83.

Oh I think it's going there. The sell side is on their game today. Yesterdays upside surge must have irritated someone? Heh! They are slamming and capping the bid at every juncture. A ~50K sell side volume spike just shoved the bid to $9.85. It's going to .75 today at this rate...south of $9.75 the next level is $9.50..

I see no point in vesting emotion in this game. It's like getting angry at your poker hand...I've never really gotten, or gotten into, the rah rah bah bah gooo TEAM aspect of play. Who cares? It's all about making a profit. Period.

That said...recall my earlier WAG about $9.75? Here's a laugh....GSCO is bracketing...as per their usual game....and guess what the lower bracket is? I'll give you ONE guess. Heh! They're showing 6.3K shares at....$9.75. Go figure....and no...I am not associated with the Vampire squid. ;-)

    Bid $9.91

The thinly traded nature of the equity guarantees quick falls and jumps (like yesterday afternoons). When trading I expect and look for this very thing. That said...OPK's bid is now breaking thte 38.2% fib retracement line...and breaking it badly since if sits at ~$10.20. I won't be surprised to see the bid sag back to $9.75 at this point. Not all at once, mind you. In pulses, pushes and pokes interspersed with surges. But little of this churn is directly related to OPK, imo. Just look at the markets. The Dow is in chaos, now down once again over 100pts. The S&P is off over 15pts. If this game were a casino...and to a certain extent it is....I'd say the place is in a frenzied state right now....

    Bid $9.97

Maybe...but I doubt there will be a political catalyst to ignite upside...fact is...if you step back and take a broader look at it...the markets are all very over-extended...and all across them you look at corporations straining to hit numbers...and when they do it's mostly cost containment derived. I don't see much of anything on the demand side that's driving anything. Excepting an aging demographic cohort that could drive and sustain the bio-tech's....but for now here we go...everywhere I look I'm seeing equities get punched to their downsides....BAC is at $14....well...now $14.02...and keeps being punched, too. The $13's seem inevitable. Oh...Dow off over 100pts, and the S&P is off over 15pts, too.

The sell side went on the attack and hammered the bid to $9.89 in an eyeblink...using +200K shares to do it, too. Given the way this paper trades there was no way the bid could sustain that sort of attack without collapsing. Which it did. I saw it happening so am back in at ~$9.90 for another trade....mischief.....it's an endemic aspect to this game...
