Yes, I remember the same phrases used with regard to OLED last year, same old arguments. But why have we seen a 25% sell-out in the last 5 trading days? Couldn't be just false rumors. Has fear of the future gripped the institutional owners? Are they the ones that dumped out? They seemed to have not been able to withstand the pressure of the selling trend and so made their institutional decisions to leave the company. Goodbye to them. They cashed out for an average of $6.50 per share.

  • on the first trading days of the past week, over 40 million shares. Those who took those shares are now controlling the company and you would think they hedged their positions with puts and selling calls. One day they will want to distribute their position and push the price up again. Otherwise they will be faced with owning 50% of the company.

There is always a threat to any company: high frequency trading, shorts, 90% of the shareholders selling, falling gross margin, credit crunch, etc. The biggest threat to Himax seems to be the Occupy Wall Street, Tea Party, NSA paranoid crowd who are calling the company garbage because that is the way they perceive Google Glass. They plan to destroy Google Glass being worn in public because of its perceived snooping powers. OK, so it might happen. Once we are past that though, Himax will still have solid earnings power. The Paranoid NSA people see Himax at $2 or lower. Technological earnings see it at a pe of 20.

  • When it is sold down to a pe around 5, you can buy back in for an easy triple to pe 15. Buy back 10k shares and you will make $40k-60k. That is what bottomfishing is talking about. You can make your losses back. I saw it happen with my Wyndham shares in 2009. It was sold down to a trailing pe of 2 because of the credit crunch. Earnings did fall to pe of 1. I bought 3000 shares at $3. Now it is at $70 even though earnings have never bounced back to the 2008 level & doesn't look like it will. PE just rose from 1 to 20 because the earnings have always been solid.
