"Bentley for its part shipped 2,212 cars in Q1. That is up significantly from the same quarter one year ago, in which it shipped 1,759. Bentley said in a press statement that ” Growth was led by a strong US market and outstanding sales in the Middle East, Asia Pacific and Europe, as the company opened a further eight new dealerships in the first three months of the year.” It may sound a bit strange to hear the US market was strong, but in fact in the automobile world this past 12 months has been the strongest in history. Luxury makes in particular did very well. Any luxury automaker not seeing huge leaps in sales should be very nervous (Lincoln).
Like Tesla, Bentley serves affluent customers looking for a second, third or fourth vehicle. Neither is a mainstream car to be used in the same fashion one might use their crossover or sport utility vehicle. Interestingly, up to about 100 mph they also have similar performance, which is to say nearly the top of the game. Both make very large and heavy (solidly constructed) vehicles."
Tesla’s emergence as a luxury near supercar maker with the ultimate in green credentials has woken up some sleeping giants. Prior to the appearance of Tesla on the world car scene, many automakers were planning to simply add a bit of internal combustion technology to their existing cars and sell them as always against one another. If Tesla sells 20,000 cars this year those purchases were almost certainly at the expense of other luxury cars. Porsche’s new Panamera Plug-In Hybrid is a good example of the reaction to Tesla and the green movement. "
"Comparisons between Tesla and other automakers are not common, except in statements like “As fast as a Corvette” or “As comfortable as a BMW M5 but faster out of the gate.” It will not be long before statements like “Much bigger than Bentley, and closing in on Acura” become part of the conversation."

"Goebel was an executive at Applebee’s for seven years before he left after the chain was bought by IHOP in 2007. He has been in the restaurant business for 40 years and has worked at Ground Round and Boston Market. He’s also on the board of directors at Jack in the Box. He became a Goodcents franchisee in 2008 before agreeing to run the brand in 2010. Goebel called Pie Five “revolutionary.” “I’ve been in this industry a long time, and I know a great brand when I see one,” he said."
Handwriting is on the wall for ICE, just as it was for PC's. Always takes time for people to see the obvious.
Google article title if interested. "PC Sales In Free Fall"
I want to see the number of shares and the price. This will provide interesting data. Not concerned about any short term pressure/opportunity, and curious about large buyer that came in few days back. Activity/events create opportunity, this is just earlier than expected, and reason for could be more positive/optimistic than most are considering. Time will tell. GLTA
Ask yourself, why now? Things have accelerated. Now ask, how and why? :-)
Agreed, this is solid JUSTIFICATION to invest!!!
Yup, the best is yet to come. LOL :-) Suggest you cover.
Yeah, I know, it's frustrating to watch the stock keep going UP, when your short, or missed the boat. LOL :-)
If interested, Google subject, just change KKD to Krispy Kreme
Maybe Google, think of all the great YouTube video they would get. :-)
Yup, the truth and nothing but the truth. Judge Judy on steriods. :-)
Driving, but looks like we are or have been over $5 at some point today. That would be good visibility and bring in a new group of buyers. GLTA!!!
I'm wondering if we have more people that are yet to learn about this announcment. Could we be EARLY to the news/game. The fact that this guy in on the Jack In The Box board, should get people interested/EXCITED
Agree, had not thought of that, but we are spreading our wings nicely!! :-) Orlando, and college locations should also help get people introduced that are moving around the country, and I would hope help create more ready customrs as more Pie %'s role out.
Couple interesting trades, all of a sudden.
Everything take time, especially if you want to do it correctly, and this GUY is what I call doing it correctly. ON THE BOARD of Jack In The Box. We have deep pockets looking over our shoulder. This is a hot concept, ready to go. They bought Qdoba, for growth, and they need MORE GROWTH, very interesting/[positive.
Don't miss this sentence, and REMEMBER, Jack In The Box BOUGHT Qdoba, which is Chipotle's competitor.
"Today he (Goebel) also sits on the Board of Directors for Jack in the Box, Inc."
Sounds pretty GOOD. Great PR.
"The Kansas City area will soon welcome its first Pie Five Pizza Co. restaurant in a 10-unit franchise agreement with former Applebee's President and Chief Executive Officer Dave Goebel.
Goebel, a seasoned restaurant veteran who served as an executive at Applebee's for seven years, will join forces with his sons Kerry and Kevin to bring Pie Five to the Kansas City area.
"We looked very carefully at several fast-casual pizza concepts before making our decision," Goebel said. "Pie Five already has the franchise infrastructure and support system in place and this is our opportunity to get in on the ground floor of a concept that is rapidly expanding throughout the nation."
Goebel was also impressed with the company's industry and franchising experience, strong leadership team and approach to creating custom pizzas with the freshest ingredients, baked to order and ready to enjoy in just five minutes.
"Once we met the Pie Five leadership team, we were sold. They bring a wealth of restaurant experience from world-class concepts," Goebel said. "I've been in this industry a long time, and I know a great brand when I see one. And Pie Five is not just great, it's revolutionary."
Goebel started in the restaurant industry almost 40 years ago after earning his undergraduate degree from University of Notre Dame and while working on his graduate degree from Ohio State University. He has held high level executive positions at well-known chains, including vice president of operations at Ground Round and chief operating officer and partner at Boston Market. Today he also sits on the Board of Directors for Jack in the Box, Inc.
"I fell in love with the restaurant business at an early age," he added. "I love the fast pace and interaction with guests. I also love that the industry is always changing and evolving. Pie Five is a game changer in the fast-casual space."
Yup, agree. Still think the police forces should go to their local news stations and say if you help us fund these cameras, you will get better video for "NEWS at 11:00 pm" segments. MONEY!!!!!, that is what we need for RAPID deployment, and this would FUND the purchases. Say what ever you want, but if you can put a ratings number/revenue number to something, people FIND THE MONEY/justifacition, fast.
