I agree 50 is a good point to go to a hold status. How high do you see baba going ? I think 83 on opening day will be the high.

No stores in Europe, Ukraine, Russia or Syria. Company will beat the street. Back to School looks good and back of house leverage will drive earnings improvement.

I have it a 1.30 B but the assumption is that there is a profit of 1% after taxes. In any case if MB gets this revenue side untangled and differentiation is one of the key planks in this strategic platform we have a winner here. So far he has made some good moves. He introduced himself to the organization and Wall Street in an appropriate manner. he laid out a modest vision statement and began to act on getting the right players on the bus. Now he needs to add to this strength and get them in the right seat.

The merchandise strategy and marketing communication will be the key and that is lacking at the senior level but FS will help out some there imo.

This is not Q and while they still are the king pins of this strategy you can not succeed by just doing the same thing as they do. It is like an AA minor league hitter going up against the major league all star caliber pitching. You can swing the bat but you better get a plan on how to hit this guy. KS taught the team how to play defense and tried to teach them how to hit but at the end there has to be capable talent.

This is a AA team and an OK one but they need to step up and make it major league caliber and that is the single hardest challenge MB has as the playing manager. This is a Hall of Fame opportunity to be sure and I think he is up to the challenge but he must have his 100 day plan and his 200 day plan in place and operating it at some improved efficiency from the past performance. Good luck to the long side here.

going to 25 in less than 12 months. The savings from the consolidated backroom operations is still not fully baked in to the stock price. They enjoy leading market share in all Brands they operate , Debt is dropping very quickly. Will be zero debt in 2 years maximum.

I hope he is right. This is a long term short though but I can wait a bit I like it as a short at 12+. Momo is keeping it flying now.

  • There is an over weight of negative sentiment holding share price down on DSW shares currently. The release and earnings tomorrow along with the conference call is scheduled during trading hours. very Bullish indeed. Look for an improved outlook with better than expected eps for the past quarter. This should signal a strong buy.

I have spoke with Mark and I believe in his point of view and his long term vision. It is difficult to see how he can implement it without some changes in management. Some have been made. The biggest positive change was at the CEO level and Keith operationally delivered pretty well but that cow is pretty dry. He was not a leader of inclusion rather one who knew want he wanted to do and pushed it through and was effective for 3 years and he did save the company in my opinion. Now that I have been generous I will also say he leaves a lot of opportunity behind on the sales revenue and marketing side of the business. A thorough understanding of operations is very important but there was no balance on the marketing side rather a defensive posture. I will note that there has been some improvements but not uniform and not strategic and fast enough. I believe Mark not only has the horsepower and vision but his leadership will be an improved paradigm for the company. I do not question the apparent improvement in the Board either. This is a better connected company as a result of recent changes in my opinion and I have made an initial re-buy and will add as the former management group liquidates their position. I would hope that the CG would view this as an opportunity to buy some shares cheaply.I look forward to Mark getting his vision polished to a business strategy and taking it out to some investor conferences in the near future. I see it as an opportunity as the Board would not let Keith do that as he made big claims supported by almost a non existent business strategy beyond his 3rd year. more of the same was not adequate for a break out.

These stores average around 30 million in sales. This is not bad. I don't know when you are viewing the traffic. I hope you are not a short seller at this level. You will get hurt. Short at the top not at the bottom. Bad news is all out. This will not be the most difficult turnaround in retail history.

I agree with you on all counts. I believe the NY office was a good call as well. Much easier to meet the trade than the Mini Apple. Directors should be a plus in the introduction area as well. I did not like the forecast of lower margins in the future unless that travels with a higher ASP. I like the lower ASP so long as sales and margins are higher. The QVC pricing model works this way and I assume they are using a similar pricing model. I like the increase in Beauty mix to 15%. If they can get it to 18 % without hurting anything else in terms of growth this would be excellent. ( should be able to imo )

I respect your opinion but I believe you really are missing how much this stock has been negatively impacted. The market is likely to reward them if earnings are a beat and out look by management is favorable. This team has good credibility with the street and it helps. Retail sector has deservedly been hammered but the economy is improving and value retail plays are likely to gain based on investors confidence returning to the stock along with the signal that customers are returning to the stores. This is happening and I stand on my call. In fact we could hit 30 before the end of the month with an up beat earnings report. GLTA.

  • when competent management returns they begin to dig their way out and the stock has begun to stabilize even though they still are far from World Class. This company is world class and certainly best of class in the US market. This stock will be not just fine it will get back on the growth plane in my opinion. $30 before year end and in fact could be there after earnings as it has been tamped down .

It never fails to make me laugh when I find the laid off short trader pronouncing themselves as a significant cog in any wheel. Their knowledge is totally dependent on what so many people tell them than really being able to dissect and examine a situation as it unfolds and build an analysis that could bring a posting with a logical thesis. Here the thesis is TEX told me to do it and TEX is waiting for a personal audience with his short lesser god ( Billy Ackman) to tell him what to say next. Stimulating get ready for the run. Long and strong. No punitive action coming to help the shorts. Most of these people are not bad people but they are not too smart.

Nice computer. What do you know about Yhoo Stock ? I have a $300 laptop and a 7 figure portfolio and I don't need your computer to make money. You should buy YHOO stock and maybe you will make enough money to pay for your computer. Sounds good for gaming but not so much HP required to make a lot of money. Good luck.

The stock hits 60 this week. You will see. Going to be ugly for the short side. Going into an options expiration with a lot of nervous shorts out there. The easy money was already picked up but if you missed it don't worry more coming soon.
