Not a bad thought, Cuda. Very typical to find additional zones of interest in a series of geological formations once the initial obvious targets are established and developed. Just look at the Bakken area.
Have you noticed Gary always keeps himself in a position with adequate funds, never wanting to be exposed to a "must sell" situation? Can't see that changing, so we can wait it out.
Not bad...not bad. One can put about any assessment on this thing with suddenly-changing market prices. What is this outfit worth? It really IS in the eyes of the beholder. If one thinks oil/gas prices will stay at a certain low level for a good while, then a more accurate figure can be put on this stock. If we are in a constantly changing commodity pricing situation, it becomes much more difficult because it's sooooo very dependent on timeframes one is thinking about. Personally, I subscribe to the notion that pricing today is too low, whereas $100 oil was a bit high. Throw in the death of a Saudi King, etc., and you may again have a sea change. My thoughts are you really have to look at things from a bit longer perspective.....today's $1.90/share is too low for this Cowboy to sell, assuming they have the cash to remain solvent for a while. Three to four bucks? Perhaps this is realistic today, but I really believe there is more value here.
Personally, I'm praying for a lengthy cold weather for those guys in the upper Midwest and across New England and the commissioning of new LPG exporting terminals while I bask in the Florida sun, waiting for gas pricing to move up.
Who am I? FYI....I worked in the oil and gas and minerals business all my life. Ever heard of DeGolyer and MacNaughton? (Google it) I've put valuations on more mineral and hydrocarbon properties than times you've changed your underwear. I've worked with companies a lot larger than MHR, so am experienced in dealing with reserve evaluation concepts at the highest levels. I carry an engineering degree from the Colorado School of Mines, understood to be the world's foremost school of minerals engineering. (Google THAT, also) Now....who are YOU?
Gotta admit, I am a bit underwhelmed at these numbers. Seems as if they've spent too much money on a few pads, drilling multiple holes to obtain production while no new drilling was done in other locations. Those other locations would be the basis for additional reserves.
But you forget....STEALING (is "consficating? a better word for your guys?) from someone to give to others isn't exactly an honorable activity. So please don't foist upon me the term "giving"....it's a crock!
Jimmy, if I were you, I'd just put him/her? on "iggy" and do your thing. You no need these pests around, trying to harass you.
It's all about interpretation. See, he did catch it, take two steps with it against his chest, which made it a controlled catch. So you're telling me if he runs several steps more, then goes down and fumbles it like happened....it's a "no catch"? They need to clean up their rules and interpretation thereof.........Too much gray here....
It may not have been the correct call, but please don't tell us you knew it should be reversed, unless you were watching through "cheesy" glasses. A little-known rule most people still don't understand even today.
In the current sense, it's the guy living in the White these days. Can you keep track of thenumber of times he's broken the law? Bet you can't count that high.....
Somehow I've always liked what Jimbob says...he's got it all covered, it seems. Romo comes from Cheeseland, so the cold won't bother him.
BJ, are we now going to have to concern ourselves with YOUR sanity? First the coal industry is killed, now you want oil to go away....what's next in your mind? NATGAS, of course. Seems like you'll NEVER be satisfied 'till the sun is called upon to do it all. IDIOT ALERT!!!!!!
O.T......Think I'll turn on the fooor heat since it's going all the way down to 50 here tonight. But not as cold as it'll be in Green Bay Sunday after my Cowboys get done with their Packer business.
Upton, you deserve it. :-) Remember, your MS. LOVES her cold...grew up with it, eh? Now....if you had taken MY advice and voted for the other guy, you might have some warmth in your stocking on Christmas Day. In all seriousness, have a great New Year.....and make a lot of money!
Tim, Upton and the FOX girl are two of our best dreamers on this board. You and I ain't gonna change their thinking, since it comes through prisms you and I can't tolerate. Like most of their minions, they continuously fail at seeing cause and effect scenarios, so there's no point trying to debate locical policy. I've given up trying...many times over.
Gary was a Dallas banker before he got into this business. I'm thinking he may still have a home here? If so, I think he might be getting tired of commuting to Houston......I would too!
