    BDC = Business Development Company

Seekingalpha and other websites have plenty of good information on the individual company's.

Look for earnings growth, dividend coverage, asset quality, and insider buying to narrow down the list of companies.

I own several of them and trade them frequently to increase my overall gain vs. just buy and hold to collect the dividend. Dividends for the BDC's are usually around 7% to 10%. Don't just buy the highest yield, because they usually are the weakest companies. Also the best time to buy is when a quality company does a secondary offering and the price dips.

For OSBCP i saw the ex date of 07/01/2014, record date 06/27/2014 and a payment date of 06/30/2014.
Which didn't really make sense that the record date was before the ex date. I was thinking that the ex date and record dates got flipped by mistake. So the ex date would be 06/27/2014 if the dates were flipped by mistake.

In the past few months I have been buying the FBP non cumulative preferred. (FBPRL, FBPRM, FBPRN, FBPRO, FBPRP)

Back in their March 10Q there was $56.8 million liquidation value of the preferred outstanding.
Since then they announced two private exchanges of the preferred for common stock of $11.3 million and $20.7 million. Should be just a matter of time before they either publicly redeem the remaining shares @ $25 or at least start to pay the dividend.

Other than the FBP preferred, I have been buying a bunch of the BDC's.
The BDC's are being removed from some indexes at the end of June and this has caused them to sell off during April and May. Most of them bottomed out in May and have started to recover. Looks like most of the damage in price was done before the actual event occurs.

Looks like the 15th is correct.
I didn't take the time to check before hand and assumed the end of month.

Based on an S-1 filing issued today, HGUBP should redeem the trust preferred and pay all of the past due interest at the end of July 2014. At the end of the July The amount would be $37.72 per share.

We have used a portion of the proceeds from the Private Placement to fund the repayment in full of our loan with Community Bankers Bank and intend to use an additional portion to repay our trust preferred securities, including accrued interest. We received regulatory approval to repay our trust preferred securities, including accrued interest, and anticipate doing so for a total of $4.8 million in July 2014. We intend to use the remaining net proceeds of the Private Placement and of this rights offering for general corporate purposes, which may include improving our regulatory capital position, improving our cost structure and supporting future growth.

This is the last trust preferred that I own that was still in deferral. It's been a good run, but I guess all good things come to a end.

    The list:
    BBXT redeemed at $25
CBC did a death dive to zero
    CCPCN/EOSPN redeemed at $25 par
CTZ-pa paid past due, and trades around $25
FBS-pa paid past due, and trades around $25
HGUBP should be redeemed in July 2014
    IBCPO redeemed at $25
    OKSBP redeemed at $25
OSBCP will pay past due interest at the end of this month.
    SCMFO redeemed at $10
TAYCP paid past due, and trades around $26
