  • Did anyone else notice that Flaws sounded like his dog died on the earnings call yesterday morning? Every quarter they promise to increase investor value and I have just lost over 10% in "value". There was no mention of Gorlilla for other applications other than tablets and smart phones. What happened to the promise of automotive and solar? It's hard to sit back and watch everyone make money with social media stocks while here is a company that makes things can't get it together. Ok, we got the promise of a brighter future, which sounds like my priest talking about heaven. Where's the return of the money spent on research? I would think we should see at least one new product a year. I say come on guys, get your act together or let's get another team that can execute. I'm tired of waiting from quarter to quarter for some sort of breakout. If this were a sports team these guys would be long gone.

It looks like people were disappointed that there was no dividend increase. I'll take my 10 cents and expect that there will be some news coming.

  • From Digitimes Taiwan:The amount of LCD TV panel surface area shipped in the second quarter of 2014 grew 14% on year, largely due to an increase in average LCD TV size, according...
70, 80, 90 inch tv's now available at Sam's Club and Costco. This means that Corning is suppling more and more glass. The problem now is getting these big suckers into the house. Have you seen the size of the cartons these come in? There's no way to load them into the minivan.

Is it just a coincidence that the $22 calls expired worthless today? It's amazing how this happens. Time to collect your dividend pennies on Monday.

Watching paint dry would be more exciting than the anemic volume of trading in GLW. Is this the calm before the storm, or will we continue to drift along at this pace. We need a catalyst to punch this in some direction. What ever happened to the Gorilla glass automotive announcement?

I've always liked my women and tv's with curves.

  • Redux Labs is demonstrating a sound bar with Gorilla Glass as the speaker. Check it out. Now think of the possibilities. This same tech could be used for noise cancellation in cars, homes, airplanes, offices...... Just think of flying without the background hum of engines. How about sound cancelling windows or windows as speakers...
This is the kind of thing that can change our environment.

There was a steady climb today to 21.42. Personally, I'm getting ready for some sort of announcement from Corning. It could be automotive with Gorilla, long rumored or something entirely different. The price action says stay tuned.
