i too owned these funds, and i did a comparison to the qqq and the only ones that beat it in five years was fbiox. Maybe i missed something and it may not be correct. Just my opinion...
Would not allow them to redeem to cash. Fine print in Mutual Fund prospectus points that out. Feds have been looking at ways to function in the next financial crisis which means to me there will be another one. No one knows when, wish i did.
I am with you, I am going to slowly transfer my alleged great stock investments into the qqq, spy, and dia. One other thing, I can sell if i want to. One manager told me he would not let his client sell during the 2008 crash. Can you imagine losing half your money and then can't get what is left? Yes, they did the investors a favor that time, but next time might be much longer recovering. Anything that is recommended by these so called experts is so that they can sell into the buying. Just like, sd, this one dude kept recommending it all the way from 20.00 to 50 cents. You can bet your (** that he was short sd and trying to trick retail into buying. Of course, that is just one example of many that I have seen in the years.
I have been comparing mutual funds to spy, dia, and qqq. It appears that majority of funds fail to the beat these etf . With more liquidity, easy in and out(compared to some mutual funds) I see these etf to be better investment. Comments from experienced investors please?
Thanks for the imput, It makes me feel a little better about taking a position here. There is not safe place for dividend income anywhere. Eventually oil/gas will come back after all the dust settles. I like the div and plan to hold.
Oklahoma Corporation comm is giving them a raise. I think they let then make a guarantied 10 percent or more. Anyone know for sure???
I am getting mixxed info on whether this is monthly or quartly pay. Info on fidelity and here says quartly yet another site says montly??
i forgot to mention that the roc, dividend and capital gain amounts vary each month. There is a list of their historical monthly pay that breaks it down for each month .
I have the holdings printed out, but forgot where I got it. I googled dnp holdings...they have at last report 63 stocks and 39 bonds, Google and you can find it. The dividend is actually a total of long or short term capital gains(less taxes to pay) Dividiends, or return of capital(tax free). I don't know how they continue to return capital but they have done it off and on for 25 years and yet their stock has been pretty steady. If you drip and the roc is reivested then teh roc is repurchasing stock at a discount which I think Varries. I have owned it off and on for years, and now have accumulated for the duration. Just all of this is my opinion and don't buy or sell on what i say...just fyi
I am upping my bet on energy with this fund. Sooner or later, oil will recover at least to a profitable area. Selling cheap oil drives out the weak players, big boys get back into control and supply will be controlled. Seen this a few times in my life, oil always comes back .
Took a beating after hours, but i am all out. Glad i sold 10,000 yesterday at 9.90, today...ugggg 8.80 I can't see anything good from this piece of &^%*
Zacks was dead wrong. I wonder about the institution and mutual fund accumulation. which showed heavy buying? Was that bogus information posted for the public?
I wonder if these are all true buy and sells, or just some paper trades trying to steal some shares? Would be nice to know what is really going on, but only the market makers, hedge funds know for sure. It is all a guess on our part. Still, got to put our money somewhere, banks don't want it and soon may be charging us for keeping money in the bank.
bought in today, will not go to zero and sell off will eventually end and great companies will continue going up in value. Always when blood in the street, time to buy a little bargains
