Thanx for your parting words, cap'n. I wasn't kidding ( although I parenthesized a chuckle) about signing on as your first mate, but the decades leaves no choice but to be as soul mates on passing ships in the night. But damn, I forgot, I am cursed with mal de mer! xxxxx
they removed the "message board" option from the left hand menu on the summary page. Say your last goodbye because this board is gone, as you will see when you try to log on.
We certainly had sufficient warning, but were stubborn with our dreams. Today marks the end of my trading and being at the mercy of unscrupulous CEOs and their abetting boards. The market is more corrupt than any mafia owned casino or even our politicians
This board will very soon disappear, so I offer my regrets to all who are not short (the pigmy people). I will miss the the colorful posts of saltwaternurse. Cap'n, I want to say to you that you are a very exceptional, bright lady with a successful future awaiting, no matter whatever your pursuit. You have a great flair for creative writing, and I won't be surprised to see a novel with the author's name," NACLH20RN." some day, if I'm still around. Smooth Sailing!
Is there any credence to bellweather's statement that all but twenty of the staff have been laid-off ? If so, have you been included and do you still maintain that bankruptcy will not occur?
Hi,cpa. Yes, the board is balanced with opposite views. On 8/29 a company employee
(lets call him "A" ) comments that there will be no bankruptcy, implying that he has info that can't be divulged. Today, an ex-employee ( let's call him "B" ) states that bankruptcy will be declared shortly. "
B" states he was given the "axe" a few weeks ago and therefore may be disgruntled and revengefully posting to hurt the company. "A" might just be happy that he is still employed and is trying to encourage investors to hang on, with the hope that this somehow will pull the company through.
These two views fail to give us any insight, as both individuals may have their own biased agenda . But most of "B's" statements can't be denied, and that companies in this trading range are more prone to bankruptcy, which has been shown historically
If indeed, there was a major lay-off this week, I would be curious to know if "A" was affected, and if so what comment he might make as an ex-employee. I believe that all the evidence thus far points toward bankruptcy, but among the ashes there is still a small glowing ember that may with a whiff of oxygen flare to life.
You may be an ex-employee as claimed in a prior post, but you raise doubts by stating there will be a "big" layoff as there are not enough employees left to justify the word "big". You certainly don't know what you are talking about when you say the company can't make a public statement of bankruptcy without releasing an ER simultaneously. However, the repetitive forward moving of the ER date appears to be deliberate and may serve one of two purposes; negotiations with the DOE or a buy-out prospect that has not solidified on the date anticipated, with the prospect of a later date, or just a stalling technique to stave off what appears to be the inevitable.
Your description of a relationship in its last throes is very vivid, leaving some scars, but also a learning experience as to whom we are in relationship (no pun intended) to others; lessons many of us have experienced, sometimes without absorption.
Thanx for the offer of a helmet, but I'm not in denial ( but who wants to be in Egypt today, anyway!). Angry? Yes! This is not the first time I have been caught in a similar situation, and foolish enough to not have learned from past experiences.
Perhaps I persist so much with a strong compulsion to protect my turf. A book I read decades ago about two Jewish brothers who are MDs living in a
neighborhood that deteriorated to a Black ghetto in which they often became robbery victims despite compassionate treatment to their patients whom often couldn't afford to pay for their services. With each intrusion, they would often exclaim," The bstrds won't let you live!" I'm not paranoid, but just fed up with all the corruption that so many are getting away with at the expense of innocent individuals.
Hi, cap'n! Your Dad's fable is appropriate as it speaks of "squirrelly behavior". Perhap's the "squirrel" keeps appearing to penetrate our thick headed resistance that the "tree" is indeed dead, and to accept this fact with the sorrowful grace that this elderly couple exhibited.
I tried contacting Yahoo for some explanation for allowing the continual scheduling of ECTY without
their reporting. but like our "cherished " company they have an impenetrable curtain that gives no answers.
The Yahoo Quarterly Earnings Calendar shows that ECTY is scheduled to report Monday, 9/16. This is the fourth Monday in a row which most probably will not materialize ( at this point does it really matter?) ...Evidently this is a weak ploy to have the investors thinking the company is still alive. Aside from their blatant deception to their investors, their behavior is not only unprofessional, but macabre and sadistic.
