    You said..
JDSU issues conservative guidance to avoid negative surprise before analyst day. It would be worth buying it few days before analyst day.

At least their gross margin improvement will be seen as net positive... they have managed to stay away from low margin business that has devastated for NPTN and OCLR... Less

Ochs.. I would listen to Blake and not buy more until it is in mid teens and proves itself.. Meanwhile looks like that $10 is now here as Blake said it would be.. We are at $10.90 trade right now.. Blake didn't say where in $10 just that $10 was coming.. You must admit he is usually right on.. Which means $8 is possible.. One year target is $12.. Not good.. Don't buy man... Don't buy more..

    Gross profit down
    Net income down
    Earnings down
    Receivables written off..
Like I said.. Company is a scam..
Buy back will never happen... Didn't happen last time they announced one.
    Company is a scam..

Not acting like a stock that has a slim chance of surprising... Street usually is ahead of that.. Stock should be up like it was two January's ago when it announced well only to sell off the next weeks but it did run at earnings with a pre announcement jump.. Here we have none and I suspect earnings will be once again underperformed with promise for more than a few quarters out... Never do they say next quarter. lt keep you hanging onto ur long that way..

  • It has never ever once exhibited the capacity to prosper..
Just keeps hanging and failing to deliver while cheerleaders scream on message board about cash and book value.. My checking account has cash value but no one is buying it for ten times the amount why would one buy a company w cash and no business.. Cash doesn't bring returns... Sales and earnings do... Awrcf.pk has neither.. And it's cash will be less with receivables and inventory higher next earnings when announced in 2017...
    Stock going to zero!

However, on the downside, the ongoing global economic fluctuations may significantly affect the prospects of JDS Uniphase. Moreover, the consolidation trend of wireless networks and data centers may also impede the company’s growth in the coming quarters.

  • JDS Uniphase Corporation (JDSU), a leading provider of communications test and measurement solutions, is slated to report its fiscal fourth-quarter 2014 earnings after the closing bell on Aug 12.

In the prior quarter, the company posted a positive earnings surprise of 50.0%. Let’s see how things are shaping up prior to this announcement.

    Factors to Influence this Quarter

We believe that the Communications Test and Measurement division of JDS Uniphase will immensely benefit from the massive growth of wireless backhaul and DOCSIS 3.0 network deployment. Wireless carriers are gradually augmenting their backhaul capacity owing to significant growth of mobile Internet traffic and multimedia applications. As a result, cable operators are fast deploying DOCSIS 3.0 networks to retain competitiveness through provision of faster data access speeds.

However, on the downside, the ongoing global economic fluctuations may significantly affect the prospects of JDS Uniphase. Moreover, the consolidation trend of wireless networks and data centers may also impede the company’s growth in the coming quarters.

    Earnings Whispers?

Our proven model does not conclusively show that JDS Uniphase is likely to beat the Zacks Consensus Estimate this quarter. This is because a stock needs to have both a positive Earnings ESP and a Zacks Rank #1 (Strong Buy), 2 (Buy) or 3 (Hold) for this to happen. Unfortunately, this is not the case here as elaborated below.

Zacks ESP: Both the Most Accurate estimate and the Zacks Consensus Estimate are poised at 7 cents. Hence, the ESP is 0.00%.

Zacks Rank: JDS Uniphase's Zacks Rank #3 Increases the predictive power of ESP; but when combined with a 0.00% ESP, it makes surprise prediction difficult.

We caution against stocks with Zacks Rank #4 and 5 (Sell-rated stocks) going into an earnings announcement, especially when the company is seeing negative estimate revisions momentum

    How about an update..?
Why a stock with $20 in cash and book value of $300 is still under $3

  • In North Korea and management told me $10 coming soon...
Then they gave me a $10 bill and said here you are...
Then management loaded their private jet and flew to Bermuda where they vacation at their other headquarters where they hide all investors money and drink rum all day...
They informed me they will not be announcing earnings on time this quarter as they decided to stay by the pool longer...

hey there uncle robert old friend..
I reccon no white knight will avail..
    no deep value investor either..
the stock will just trade down and disappear soon once management has squeezed all their juice..

  • Probably today...
Earnings release will be delayed, excuses will be heard and targets will be missed with promises for better results in five quarters from now as typical.
Then once earnings are finally released and cash flow is shown to be down, inventories will be up, receivables will be up with write offs, earnings will be negative and the stock will be delisted...
good luck to any dreamer who thinks otherwise..
It's been 15 years going strong with no results people.,.
The BS will continue and longs will be punished..
Please don't reply with nonsense about cash and book value...
No one cares, no one is buying, the company is a scam!!!

    I see no value Hondo..
And $2.34 is its 52 week low while $4 is its high so I don't quite see how you can claim the price is up even last week when it was $2.7 doesn't equate to being up.
My prediction is apwc.pk is a scam and goes to zero...

In May you said the below...

did you read the results ? earnings for the q came in @ .20/sh! or .42 for the year ending dec 31, 10213- compared to .41 last year when you sub out the extra cash from the flood insurance. The company has ZERO long term debt, $4.50 in cash, bk of $11+ or with partial interest in subs yielding a total bk of $16+
, the company still had rev of $450 million or so and earned .42-----you must be missing something or
your prefer "feye" @ $28.00 down from $95 with est rev for 2014 of $450 million and $2.00/loss some 144 million shares outstanding vs 13.8 million! There are plenty of books on investing! Less
    Sentiment: Strong Buy

    Am I still "missing something"
Looks like you're the one missing something...
    And that something is
    A PROFIT!!
    Lol
Stock price is going down slowly and will soon be at zero...
