Looking to enter short later today. Waiting for it to head lower before I pull the trigger. JP Morgan figures are baked in. I think the battery plant is going to cost a fortune and I'm not certain everything will go as planned.
Yes. T & VZ will not get thrown out with the bathwater like the high flyers. I stopped adding to VZ, but I bought some more T today. Can't beat the T dividend. VZ dividend might get bumped next year though. I am leaning toward T now because the Short Interest is crazy high, with 10 days to cover.
You forget about inflation. Imagine you purchased the 30 year bond, 30 years ago and it matured today. How good did you really do? You got hammered when you factor in your purchasing power today. Had you invested the same money in virtually any other non-bond you would have done much better. Imagine if you invested in the Dow 30 or a condo in Manhattan. Many of those other countries have zero inflation today. In the USA its 2.4% but really higher. Bonds are a very bad investment.
meant 10 year not 30 year. Michigan Inflation today was 3.3 so the 30 year would be a complete wash assuming inflation held steady @ 3.3% for 30 year. Ha
What? Undervalued? If inflation was currently 2.2%+/- (as the government claims) your real yield is 30 basis points for the 10 year. How is that undervalued? In the real world costs have increased much more and that's just the start. Anyone buying the long bond will lose money. The best place to be is real estate and certain dividend stocks. Again negative rates.
Well I bought before the open and at the open. I just sold off for a quick 4.75 profit. I figured 217.5 was max pain, but got lucky with over 220. GLTA
