  • they had it too easy, too much bravado, not enough fear. They lost focus on their smartphones, and put our junk now that is not innovative. They are a dying company as far as momentum goes. Google glass is a total joke, and it really took focus off smartphones and trying to become a leader in innovation with something that actually sells. Google is like a scatterbrained son of a great scientist now. Its so sad to see this happen to such a once great company. They need a new leader and fast. Sure they will make money but Im certain im not the only one who is lightening up on thier goog holdings. They seem arrogant and lost to reality. I hope somebody new comes in and takes this company over SOON.

XOM is way overpriced. BP has less of a downside but they will always have safety issues and is not as high a quality company. Only a fool would go long oil now though. There are about a billion better sectors that wont crash as hard. Also, XOM got bloated from buffet and gives a #$%$ dividend. DIvi is safe, but the priniciple will have to come down to near its peers. The XOM premium for safety in included in my guestimate for 70's stock price. That is still on the high side but XOM is well run and has a great safety record in the industry.

One of the easiest shorts I've ever seen. The PE is WAY to high on this terd. At least theres a good safe dividend when it hits 65 in case it does capitulate in the 50's

shareholders are lucky that there is a premium like with biotechs that have losses etc. If it wasnt for the NUAN premium, (which is undeserved at this point,) this would be a 10 dollar stock. Its just a lost cause at this point but it looks like the premium will remain. What is incredible is how poorly the company is run. It is one of the worst managed companies on earth, yet it does still have the premium going for it...

  • KMI all the way folks, always knew this was the "center" of it all. God Bless America and Mr. Kinder

remember when AAPL was 394... do you think people holding apple were happy about it? Of course not but the smart ones held on and now its almost doubled lol... I dont know how many times it will take to shake the short term thinking out but best of luck with your decisions. Someday RIG will be 95 and people will all be buying like wild...Mark this post and look back in a year or two..

    Sentiment: Buy

A tip for you .. buy when things look bad. If you want to sell, only Sell when things have been going well for awhile. I like the RIG dividend and feel a good time to accumulate is when the cyclical business is down.
Its such a shame to see people lose money selling low and giving up such a nice dividend because they dont understand a cyclical business like rigs

    Sentiment: Buy

I bought isil for the dividend and am hoping it goes to 11 agani. The company will only get stronger as the years go by. I feel sorry for the people who dont understand how important a dividend is to buying tech stocks...

    Sentiment: Strong Buy

For Long Term Investors in SO

I have been in since 96. I like the area it covers. Dont read the articles about utilities. I have laughed at 30 different articles since 96 saying SO was a bad investment because of "x" reason. The current CEO and management is progressive as far as looking to the future and conservative as far as balancing the energy mix. All I can say is ADD WHEN IT GETS CLOBBERED and smile when it goes up, while you collect your increasing dividend. The KEY to investing is diversifying and not being fooled by the "bad" news. As far as SO for a long term, I cant think of a better utility. I increase my position but only as my portfolio grows. I think when I started I had about 40,000 dollars and im over a million now. Only sold a few russian carriers due to putin acting up in all the years of stocks. I can live off my dividends but dont need all the money coming in. Not bragging , just telling the young ones here to not be afraid to invest in yield. I like some of the REITS for income and many other utilities , and of course the whole dow is pretty good lol! just dont let the down times get to you and youll be fine
    Best of luck

A nice market correction should do the trick. I own this as a long term holder but am ready to buy a lot more under 15. The management is great. If you know the industry, you appreciate ORI management ...A LOT.
Great company, great future, great dividend.

    Sentiment: Strong Buy

  • When I was a novice, I would cry about portneys, debt, etc etc, but now as a seasoned reit expert I can say this is THE ONE for the future. So glad they did the offering at 23.50... Look to the future folks! and look forward to your dividend checks even more !!

i didnt get in on the ipo but bought 3 years later. I add whenever it dips and am accumulating shares for my children .

  • allgamachee303 by allgamachee303 Jul 24, 2014 8:35 AM Flag

I am concerned with the long term business and dividend. As a large position holder, I like the reason for the offering and it is telling...GOV is growing and I plan to have 10,000 shares some day for my children to inherit. I will be closer after buying today. I wil be t waiting past the initial swings then placing a market order initially then will be buying more all the rest of july. This is a WELL RUN COMPANY for income and I think the management is doing a great job

    Sentiment: Strong Buy

The true game is vz and t. TMUS and sprint are for idiots only and I dare say they will both be out of business in 10 years. I buy T and VZ on RED days. Have been doing so for almost 10 years . Do you know what I like most folks?? You guessed it THE BIG DIVI CHECK THAT GETS BIGGER EVERY YEAR. Two giants, two great companies. VZ and T are both buy when its red stocks and hold forever. I really dont care about the BS that goes on and I am glad tmus is run by a #$%$. That is very lucky for t and vz holders!!

Im buying more today. I live in queens, know NYCB and the community very well. With this management over 50 would just mean larger cap gains, and divi growth on top of the 6.2 percent. This is how its going to happen. as am Ultra long term holder its clear the reason
they are waiting the deal is to get the big bang out of it. I dont think any bank is in a better position than nycb to cross over and win large. This is thier style , slow and deliberate, and top notch concerns for dividend GROWTH LONG TERM. I dont think of this as just in a holding pattern for the divi. Im infor dividend GROWTH and I have 20 years left about to wait it out before my kids get the nycb
