I reported this around 3 weeks ago. Nobody listened.
300 workers equates to about 4 lines of assembly. Otherwise, they are not shipping anything in quantities. The facility needs to hire about 2000-5000 more employees if they are going to make a dent in their current manufacturing woes.
you are WRONG about Walmart being a low priority.
Otherwise, Nokia would have given up on its entire line of feature phones (Asha).
"Only time will tell"
Yes it will. Just as it has for the past year. Nokia just cannot produce any Lumia in volume. They couldn't make the 920 last quarter and this quarter, they cant make the 521 along with other models.
I visited over 23 Walmarts in the past couple weeks. ONLY ONE WALMART HAD A LUMIA 521 IN STOCK.
Whether their selling or not, THERE IS A MASSIVE SUPPLY SHORTAGE OF 521s AT WALMART. That is something we all can agree on.
mrsanteph & mceug can all go F off.
Last quarter you guys did the same thing. You guys all said Adduplex's numbers were showing massive Lumia sales that ULTIMATELY were lfat out WRONG by almost 40%. Then we found out that AT&T only sold 100k Lumia 920s. So now looking back, we all learned that Adduplex IS A VERY BAD INDICATOR OF LUMIA SALES.
you pumpers need to give it a rest.
Nokia's Union workforce must be doing an old fashion slow down, cuz there's nothing on the shelves nor stores.
I guaranteed it to this board over 3 weeks ago.
Elop must go, along with the BODs
if you want new tabs in the IE explorer, simply click on the settings (3 dots lower right). Then Advanced Settings. Then Open links from other Apps in "a new Tab".
Thus, if you click on a link, it will open a new tab.
WRONG. Of the 10 Walmart stores in my area, NONE of them received any 521s. They said it will be at least another week before they MIGHT get any in stock.
This is the EXACT SAME TACTIC that Elop used during the release of the 920. Make every customer be forced into ordering the phone at the store or on-line.
Complete F-UP on Elops behalf. Doesn't he realize that it translates to millions of lost sales? Fire Elop and the BODs
just as I GUARANTEED this board over 2 weeks ago. Supply constraints and manufacturing issues follow every move that Elop makes.
Available for pre-ordering. None in stock. False alert.
A little bit of relief folks,
visited some more Verizon stores. None of them had the 928 on display yet. They said they had not got around to 'hanging' the poster NOR putting the device on the shelf. LMAO. Wow! AND ELOP THINKS THAT'S WHAT AN EXCLUSIVE BRINGS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Anyhow, one of the stores did have 1 black 928 unit in the back room. The sales guy brought it out and let me handle it (with out the battery in it). Very impressed. Looks like a REAL HERO phone. Thank God, cuz that white 928 unit I saw 'Looks Jake from State Farm Hideous'.
who would have FN thought that a PR campaign of only showing those Windows Live Tiles would fail?
IDIOTS. You sell a handset based on what it can do NOT on what it looks like.
PATHETIC.
Fire Elop and the entire BODs
Absolutely the best statement about Nokia I have ever read on this board.
Nokia currently runs on innuendos and rumors. Most of the rumors are started by Nokia's very own PR department. Pathetic. A multi national company like Nokia relying on 'social' blogs for PR. Pathetic. They could easily pay the $90 and get their NEWS published to the US via Newswire, etc,.
Its almost as if Nokia is afraid to say ANYTHING about products, sales, etc,. Its almost unheard of in the investment community. Nokia has still yet to announce their partnership with MSFT and the details of said partnership. WOW! But hey sports fans, you can read the 'news' of the partnership by some Pakistani Blogger! PATHETIC.
Fire Elop and the BODs.
No one is asking to switch to Android. We are only asking that Nokia offer 1 Android based smartphone. That way Nokia can resume its first mover advantage in the industry. The MSFT WP8 advancements are to slow. Thus, Nokia can't sell a phablet until 2014. Nokia could set its own pace. Instead, they are watching the entire industry zoom on by.
Have you been in a Verizon/AT&T store recently? Did you notice how the stores are all selling tablets and phablets? Their not selling smaller, their selling bigger. Nokia can't sell 'bigger' because the WP8 OS doesn't permit it.
A couple weeks ago, on this very message board, I GUARANTEED everyone that Nokia & ELOP would have major supply constraints and shortages. Pathetic. Fire Elop and the BODs ASAP.
if the 928 was being sold on all the carriers it would be no problem. HOWEVER, since ELOP decided to make the 928 an EXCLUSIVE TO VERIZON, you would have expected that Verizon would have a dedicated 6 foot shelf for the Lumia. Instead, you get a 10 inch shelf that is shared with the HTC and Samsung WP8 phones!!!! Why on Gods green earth would you deliberately sign an exclusive with Verizon, if they are not going to promote the sales of the phone? Its an EXCLUSIVE FOLKS! You would expect that going with Verizon, it was going to be Nokia's biggest release date in the US. What do you have? A soft opening. can't get devices in store. Have to pre-order BS. But you will get your device in a few days. F ELOP. Now, ELOP and Verizon doesn't even have the basic BLACK device that the majority of users would buy.
ABSOLUTELY PATHETIC. Not only does their manufacturing constraints SUCK, their Marketing and Sales management SUCKS.
the deal with Walmart hasn't even started. It will be another 2 weeks before Walmart receives any more 521s. Pathetic. Elop and BODs must go.
Also, the Asha 210 that was announced in April still hasn't shipped from Nokia... despite websites having the phone for sale, er uh I mean 'not available' or 'sold out'.
When Nokia was contacted about the availability of the Asha 210, they responded that the phone would be made available sometime in June.
On another note. Nokia's push into the large smartphone or Phablet market has been delayed and pushed out, well into 2014. This despite every smartphone manufacturer selling a phablet type device.
I gave you guys a GUARANTEE last week on this very message board that Nokia would have supply constraints. Elop needs to go. Then the BODs.
