Cory and Trevor you must be an idiot. Holding your entire position forever is the dumbest idea. Buy low and scale out... if it goes lower buy back in... goes higher scale back out. Especially in this stock.
Of course its undervalued. And the reason is because they can't turn a profit... and will have to sell more acreage to pay the bills... which will lower there book value...
Unfortunately I am Long...
But they will figure it out eventually or be bought.
I think it will be a target for other another regional. I wouldn't be surprised if HBAN, PNC, or 5/3 took a shot at it. On the flip side its getting big enough that after a couple of more small Michigan purchases that they could attempt to acquire in a new market. I would love to see a Michigan based bank go national.
I did very well with GLS and sold after the merger announcement so I never owned AER. Last year I started buying AYR which has a very active acquiring 3rd party that buys every dip. When it went above 21.00 a share I started buying FLY at 11.00. I can't really figure out what FLY's issue is but the div is nice and I am up so can't really complain. Good to see someone still around from GLS, I still see Lionel around from time to time.
I am surprised by how poorly its been doing. I thought delaying rate increases would allow it to inch up a little. Greece and oil and nope... no impact from anything. Good News with Gold under 1200 I started buying physical gold again.
Cramer and Baxter... If you watch the show and do what he says or the opposite doesn't make much difference... I like the show for ideas I would miss on my own, but I own no stocks that he talks about regularly and quiet a few that he dislikes including RMTI.
Cramer really like bio and pharma right now so his pump on Baxter has less to do with BAX stock and more to do with the sector which he is positive on. A rising tide lifts all boats.
Good Luck Have Fun.
I would love a terrible report in July. It will cause an artifical low to buy back in at... Then we can do this all over again. :)
True they will space the acquisitions out a little bit... Bax newco BXLT will want to stay in the news. disclosure I own RMTI, BAX and technically BXLT.
If your looking for a structural template for the spin off look at what just happened at CDE/PZG. The newco spinoff held unwanted assets, no debt, and 10 million in parting cash so it could run itself. I am sure it will be some variation of that. They can't load it with debt and give it no money and think thats gonna work out.
Trade, I didn't mean to sound bitter. Like I said I am long and still here AND still making money. That doesn't make my statements less true however. Its easy to say everything is great in the good times... but these guys have made some bone head moves that left a lot of us in a bad way... heck thats how I got shares for 4.00. The Baxter deal was forced because they were out of money again... even after they had already done two different raises... both of which they said were enough... each time. I am not mad, but to say this is flawless execution and there isn't a reason to take some profits is just ignorance of immediate history.
Bio, There are lots of reasons to bank a profit at these levels. Not the least of which is that the management of this company has consistently under performed their own guidance... and ran out of money... and had to raise additional capital even after saying they wouldn't need to do so. Yes they are most full of @#$#. I have been here a long time and I am long but my block of 4.00 shares just became long term gains for tax purposes and I sold out half of my initial investment. I don't intend to buy back in unless it does something crazy like go below 10. But remember the execution of this management is bad and one stumble on the roll out and they will remind everyone again.
Yes. I lost money here... The merger makes it worse. I am going to hold here for a while I bought this as insurance against a market decline... but it didn't happen.
Buffet and Goldman look at different things. Buffet says "can I make more money somewhere else?" Plus he has the inside scoop on oil via his train holdings. Goldman can make money on the sale of NOV or just collect the dividend... or wait years doing nothing if they are "wrong" they are the market maker.
You should always feel fortunate to have made so much money you need to a the tax bill. Remember all those dotcom guys that didn't want to sell and pay taxes!?! They lost everything.
