  • Debt Doomed AMD's RX480 has poor performance of a 3 year old Maxwell 970 despite have the same TDP as Pascal's Titan Beating 1070, there are NO independent reviews of AMD RX480 showing how many watts it will suck trying to keep up to a OLD Maxwell 980.

Pascal is a TRUE performance upgrade that is much more future proof than a instantaneous OBSOLETE RX480 that has the pathetic performance of last gen lower mid market 28nm 970, Polaris is NOT a upgrade its a waste of money.

I find stocks of Pascal 1080/1070 improving everyday with AIB partners giving gamers many choices to pick from, so stop your lying, crying and start buying the most future proof GPU in the gaming world Pascal.

custom variants reaching close to 1900MHz from NVDA's many AIB partners will have factory warrantied overclock enabled, not like AMD watt sucking Polaris that VOID your warranted when its fried and died.

Poor performing Polaris RX480 will have the performance of a Maxwell 970 with a TDP of 150, while Pascal 1070 has Titan beating performance with the same 150 TDP. With Pascal you get high end performance per watt, with Polaris you get a watt wasting poor performing POS!!!

    Sentiment: Strong Sell

  • The RX-480 will have a base clock of 1120 MHz and boost clock of 1266 MHz. This is VisionTek’s variant of the GPU’s reference design. At the first glance, the base clock speed does seem slow, especially considering we should see higher clocks due to a much smaller node. NVIDIA Corporation (NASDAQ:NVDA) has demonstrated this perfectly with its Pascal lineup. The base clock of NVIDIA’s GeForce GTX 1080 Founders Edition is 1607MHz, with custom variants reaching close to 1900MHz.

The Pascal GeForce GTX 1070 Review

    Faster than Titan X...
...at less than half the price
    Excellent 1440p performance

Faster than the previous performance champs the Titan X and GTX 980 Ti
Gorgeous reference cooler design with excellent cooling performance
Plenty of headroom for overclocking, particularly memory
Strong software and driver support with GeForce Experience
Double the memory of the GTX 970

With the overclocking monster Pascal 1070 we're typically seeing clock speeds of 1950-2000MHz. At stock, the typical boost clock is ~1650MHz, so all told we end up with about 20 percent higher core clocks, with 17.5 percent higher VRAM clocks.

    A new middleweight champion

And there you have it: fifteen games tested, covering a variety of game engines and genres. Out of those games, the GTX 1070 manages to match or exceed the GTX Titan X and GTX 980 Ti in every single title. And it does so while potentially lowering the entry price to $380—though it will almost certainly be a month or so before we see such prices readily available. And if you're willing to overclock, you can add about 15 percent more performance, which is pretty similar to what we've seen with GTX 1080 and slightly less than the reference GTX 980 Ti.

We've rated the cards in terms of bang for the buck, or FPS per dollar spent on the GPU. That doesn't account for the cost of the rest of your system, obviously, but it's a start. Using the $380 MSRP, the 1070 ends up being a better value than all but three cards, and those cards are only a slightly better value but with far lower performance. The 1070 is over twice as fast (on average), allowing for higher resolutions and higher quality settings.

NVIDIA To Launch PCI Express Tesla P100 Card In Q4 2016, HBM2 GP100 have been shipping in volume to Nvidia's partners. The initial HBM2 version of the P100 announced in April was NVIDIA's highest performing version, shipping with 56 of 60 SMs enabled, based on a 300W board using NVIDIA's new mezzanine connector.

This week in Frankfurt, Germany, at the annual International Supercomputing Conference (ISC), NVIDIA is expected to announce the PCI Express Tesla P100 card.

According to HPC Wire, NVIDIA is mounting its efforts to replace the CPU as the top of the processor list for demanding datacenter workloads. One element of this strategy is introduction at ISC 2016 of a PCIe-based version of its new Tesla P100 card. ISC is one of the two major annual supercomputing conferences used for high performance processor announcements.

Since introduction of DGX-1 platform and Pascal chip last April, NVIDIA's strategy has been shifting. The company argues that the mainstreaming of AI/deep learning approaches in scientific computing, better performance scaling on GPUs and the large base of CUDA code are combining to lift GPUs to preeminent role from its previous supportive role.

Hey Professional Rabid AMDog that's paid pennies per post to Polish AMD's Polaris Turds IS A BLATANT LIAR!!! Polaris Uses 150 Watts at Full Load, Based on the fact that it could essentially pull as much as 150 watts, Based on the fact that it could essentially pull as much as 150 watts, Based on the fact that it could essentially pull as much as 150 watts, Based on the fact that it could essentially pull as much as 150 watts, Based on the fact that it could essentially pull as much as 150 watts, Based on the fact that it could essentially pull as much as 150 watts!!!

Professional Packs of Rabid AMDogs are paid pennies per post to Polish AMD's Polaris Turds because its another Low/No Margin Watt Wasting Pathetic Performing Over Hyped Epic Fail that will BOTTOM FEED in the Cheap Chip Gutter Gaming Gutter.

Debt Doomed AMD wanted to price its Polaris RX480 at $300 Blatantly lying about it being a Main Stream Mid Market GPU. Debt Doomed AMD Polaris RX480 only has the performance of a Three Year Old Factory Overclocked Maxwell 970 that was Main Stream Mid Market Favorite. BUT AS ALWAYS The Main Stream Mid Market performance needs have MOVED UP, VR and NEW GAMES NEED a MORE POWERFUL GPU Solutions, and NOW this level of performance is NOT ENOUGH to meet the demands of what a Main Stream Mid Market, SO AMD was FORCED to SLASH the Price of its Poor Performing Polaris to $200 Dollars.

NVIDIA's Pascal 1070 has Maxwell Titan Beating Performance and it Only uses 150 Watts, Debt Doomed AMD's Polaris ALSO uses 150 Watts BUT IT ONLY MATCHES the performance of a 3 year Maxwell 970.
Pascal's SUPERIOR Performance Per Watt Kicked AMD's Watt Sucking RX480 Polaris OUTTA the Main Stream Mid Market and into the Cheap Chip Gutter Gaming Gutter.

The desperation we all can feel is that of AMD and its paid to pump marketing henchmen that infest this board, they don't want want to compare Polaris to Pascal real world benchmarks and FPS performance or performance per watt. No these pro pumpers just want to sell you watt sucking snake Polaris oil, and poor Polaris performance that doesn't beat 3 year old Maxwell factory overclocked 970 the OLD Mid Market Steam Favorite.

The Fact is that as always the Mid Market performance bar has been raised with new FinFET process from TSMC and NVDA's Pascal 1070 to Meet and Beat the performance need for more VR speed that AMD hyped up best Polaris RX480 just barely meets the minimum bar for both Facebook FB +0.39%’s Oculus VR and the HTC HTCCY +% Vive. BUT the Radeon RX 470 and Radeon RX 460 which do NOT meet the minimum bar for both Facebook FB +0.39%’s Oculus VR and the HTC HTCCY +% Vive.

AMD fantard replies are as ridiculous as poor Polaris's Watt Sucking TDP of 150 Watts when it only offers the performance of three year old Maxwell Factory OCed 970, LOL.

NVDA's 1070 Pascal with the same TDP of 150 beat Maxwell Titan/980Ti, that's why it commands money making margins/price proving you get what you pay for.

You AMD fantards are hyper polishing AMD's poor performing little Polaris turds, but come July Polaris will be exposed as stinking smelly watt wasting Piece of Sheet, that gets beat by NVDA's Pascal like a rented AMDonkey.

  • Radeon RX 480

Advanced Micro Devices says the Radeon RX 480 is expected to deliver “smooth AAA gaming experiences to gamers at 1440p resolutions”. This means that AMD expects this card to perform fairly well compared to the mid market Maxwell of the previous generation, roughly falling somewhere around a GTX 970. One key point on VR is that the RX 480 meets the minimum bar for both Facebook FB +0.39%’s Oculus VR and the HTC HTCCY +% Vive. This leads us to the other two GPUs in AMD’s Radeon RX 400 series line of GPUs, the Radeon RX 470 and Radeon RX 460 which do NOT meet the minimum bar for both Facebook FB +0.39%’s Oculus VR and the HTC HTCCY +% Vive.

Pascal HBM2 GP100 are SHIPPING NOW and soon its HBM2 gaming version will be released. Pascal 1080/1070 was NEVER going to have HBM2, it doesn't need it because using 8GB of GDDRX5 is major cost/yield improvement over AMD's Fury/Nano costly gaming gimped low yield 4GB HBM1.

The Pascal 1070 is a Titan beater, the watt wasting Polaris isn't even benchmark yet but if using dead cred AMD's hyper pumping inflated numbers its about as fast as a 2 year old stock clocked Maxwell 980 and that's pretty pathetic considering it has the same TDP as Pascal 1070. Pascal WINS, Polaris is a Loser.
