    I repeat, AGAIN

FACT that debt doomed AMD HAS nothing that's Handset Mobile Worthy, NOTHING!!!

LOL, Dirky sold out of Mobile and got Axed, I made big bucks, Dirky is my hero. Rory is also my AMDumb CEO hero.

AMD has the best or worst CEOs in the world, depending if you're SHORT or a AMDumb long investor.

  • There are some things that neither of these charts can show, however, such as noise. The R9 290X in particular not only runs hot, but it runs loud as well. So loud, in fact, that it gave me flashbacks of the GTX 480 – both cards can sound like miniature jet engines while gaming. For those who game without headphones, or at low volume, that sound is going to get annoying, believe me.

AMD understands this as well, which is why the “Quiet” mode switch is included. But, given the fact that this switch is on the card itself, it’s not exactly the most convenient, and past that, it causes the card to run even hotter. That’s hardly ideal.

But on every other front, NVIDIA’s package is better: The 780 Ti performs better overall, runs cooler and quieter, and boasts a couple of features that I consider to be awesome (ShadowPlay, for starters).

    Best under-$1,000 single-card performance.
Even at full tilt, the card runs with modest noise levels.
    The reference cooler is amazing.
    NVIDIA ShadowPlay, GameStream, PhysX.

At the end of the day, NVIDIA gets the definite nod here – the 780 Ti is simply a fantastic card.
    -
I want to burn my 290Xs. They have so many problems. "Black screens" your screen will go black mid game, you can still hear the game but you see nothing. Crashes where your entire screen looks like dots of all colors. So much heat that my audio drops off and on. Fans that are so loud that if you run 3 cards you can hear the fans even with headphones on.

Software: They have no way to setup custom resolutions so I am stuck playing at 60hz since the driver is too stupid to take advantage of my 120hz. If it doesn't detect my second or third card have to re-install windows (uninstalling the driver leave so much crap behind that it won't fix it). I am stuck playing 1080p in a 4k monitor because a lot of games do not know what my resolution is on launch, some games that worked on my gtx 780s do not work on my 290xs at all. I will never buy AMD again.

Intel licenses NVDA GPU IP now, tying the knot would have massive synergy energy, MASSIVE! Debt doomed AMD would be R.I.P. freeing the silicone industry of the great AMD parasite that sucks the profits out of every market AMD touches with their watt sucking over hyped propaganda pumped cheap chips.

Nvidia has the best drivers and multi GPU tech SLI. AMD's watt sucking GPUs still micro stutter and runt render to cheat on FPS benchmarks, and AMD's cross fire is a misfiring mess.

GTX 780 Ti is almost 20% faster than watt sucking AMD's R9 290X, use the newest drivers and see for yourselves. Nvidia DOMINATES the performance per watt Crown NOW, upcoming Maxwell will OBLITERATE AMD's watt sucking GPUs.

I'm a builder of custom rigs using only the best, Intel has by far the best CPUs, and Nvidia has the best GPUs, both are very energy efficient quiet and powerful. Can't say the same about AMD's watt sucking bottle necking CPUs/APUs and their watt sucking GPUs are second rate, drivers suck, they still runt render and micro stutter run hot, crossfire is misfiring mess and they are noisy.

It’s fairly obvious that AMD is buckling down and focusing on its core strengths, Abandoning the Mobile Market Entirely.

Profit margins. Something AMD sorely needs. The company recently announced it was cutting 1, 100 jobs and taking another $622 million charge as the result of its 2006 ATI acquisition. In total it has written off $3.2 billion of the acquisition including this sale and the sale of its DTV assets to Broadcom last year.

The company is, however, in a bit of a catch-22 now. It really has no choice but to hunker down and develop out its core assets, but buckling down also means placing all of its eggs in one basket. It’s a very risky bet that AMD's CEO Dirk Meyer is making.

Dear investors, AMD SOLD its MOBILE IP to Qualcomm even the employes went to Qualcomm, AMD CAN NOT SUCK off of Nvidia going after Samsung and Qualcomm over GPU patents. The Mobile market has moved forward leaving debt doomed AMD behind.

Qualcomm has acquired graphics and multimedia assets from Advanced Micro Devices' mobile division for $65 million.

The cash deal has already received regulatory approval, and it involves intellectual property, assets, and personnel from AMD Handheld. Qualcomm said the deal will eventually lead to significantly improved 2-D and 3-D performances once the technology is integrated into its hardware. The deal does not include AMD's Imageon line, which is already in cell phones from HTC, LG, Motorola, and others.

"This acquisition of assets from AMD's handheld business brings us strong multimedia technologies, including graphics cores that we have been licensing for several years," said Steve Mollenkopf, executive VP of Qualcomm, in a statement. "Bringing this technology in-house creates even greater synergy as we seamlessly inte
The move was expected, as AMD has said it will cut costs and focus on areas of profitability. Last year, AMD sold its digital television division to Broadcom for $192.8 million.

AMD unloads mobile GPU technology to Qualcomm and has NOTHING for the MOBILE GPU MARKET!

AMD Sells Handset Division to Qualcomm for $65 Million

Advanced Micro Devices has agreed to sell its struggling handset division to Qualcomm for $65 million, according to the chip makers. AMD plans to sell the handset division that includes graphics, multimedia and other technology. AMD inherited the ATI's handset division in 2006 and the division had underperformed since then and the losses have had a significant impact on AMD's bottom line. AMD also sold its digital television division to Broadcom in 2008.

The agreement means that Qualcomm will not only acquire AMD's handset division, but the company also inherits the graphics, multimedia technology and other intellectual property from the business. With the deal complete, Qualcomm plans to use that technology and intellectual property to develop new types of 2D (two-dimensional) and 3D (three-dimensional) graphics technologies for handset devices and cell phones as well as enhanced audio, video and display capabilities.

Qualcomm is also extending job offers to some of the employees that worked within AMD's handset division.

"This acquisition of assets from AMD's handheld business brings us strong multimedia technologies, including graphics cores that we have been licensing for several years," Steve Mollenkopf, executive vice president of Qualcomm and president of Qualcomm CDMA Technologies, said in a statement.

AMD and its paid to pump parrots are in a WORLD of HURT, Maxwell and Broadwell will OBLITERATE ALL THINGS AMD. AMD will be Geforced and FinFETed to further Slash prices just to keep the lights on in its lease back Austin campus!

read weep and RUN, AMD is DONE,

The takeaway is that Intel says it can deliver twice the performance-per-watt in 14nm Broadwell Core M chips as it could with 22nm Haswell Y-series chips. If you're a PC OEM, this should give you lots of flexibility: you could keep the performance and the size of your PC's chassis roughly the same and increase your battery life; keep the size of your PC and its battery life roughly the same and increase performance; shrink your PC while maintaining similar performance and battery life; or do some combination of all three.

Like the current 22nm process, Intel is planning to use 14nm to make chips going all the way up and down its product stack. It begins with Core M, but it will eventually extend to encompass Core i3/i5/i7 CPUs for laptops and desktops, Xeon chips for workstations and servers, and probably eventually some low-end Celeron and Pentium parts as well. The next Atom CPU architecture, a "tick"-style shrink of Silvermont named Airmont, will also use the 14nm manufacturing process.
