Yeah. I missed that one on 6/9. If I recall, it happened real early in the trading day. I'm on the West Coast so not always easy to be up at 6:30 am, depending on what I have done the night before. Today was a pure Greece play. I fully expect SWKS to pull back before earnings. I just made the play today because I am betting this Greece BS will finally get some kind of resolution in the next couple of days, even if it is kicking the can down the road. I was betting all the markets would react positively to the news. Plus, SWKS seemed to be getting really good support over the past couple of days at 109-109.50 and I bought right around there. Plan was to make a quick buck or three in a couple of days then wait on the sidelines if it pulls back towards ER. Now, I might be stuck!
I do sometimes feel as if the gods are conspiring against me. Been on the sidelines for a bit on this one but decided today to sink a bunch of money into Aug 15 options looking for a quick play. Talk about bad timing!
I bet if we dug deep enough we would find this Rich Ross guy is buddies with whoever bought a bunch of 105 put options for next week
Down below 109. I know AH often meaningless but this is strange action. Bid and ask both low. Its as if someone knows something or its part of a concerted action to bring it down. Or else its probably because I decided to pile back in today on a short term play in the hope of a pop on good Greece news over next couple of days.
At least you post in full sentences here rather than that virtually unintelligible shorthand you use on Stocktwits
Relax. Its probably just Russell rebalancing. Happens around now every year. Google it
Probably automatic sales that are part of his compensation that have been scheduled to occur for a while. You are grasping at straws. Short at your peril.
Up 7% after hours. After seeing your discussion here, I took a look and decided to have a little nibble at some long-dated CRM options just before the close. Glad I did! Thanks for bringing this to my attention.
Not a trader. Just have a very small amount of options expiring tomorrow. Also have a significant amount of options expiring on 5/15 that are currently a ways under water. Need SWKS to get back to 98 by the end of next week to avoid losing a lot of money on these ones. Have other longer dated options not so worried about. Check my posting history. While I only post sporadically, I have been posting on this board for quite a while. If my "minute-to-minute mentality" is "old" for you, feel free to put me on ignore. I promise I wont get offended!
To get this to really pop short term to where it should be, we need a strong day overall for the markets tomorrow. Look what happened to NXPI today. Was up 4% at one point but closed only up .5% While SWKS results were better, I don't want the rise to be muted by overall market weakness. The AH pop has only got it back to where it was at the beginning of this week and still way off where it deserves to be.
Ouch! Should have checked CRUS latest AH numbers when I posted this! It was up earlier but now down 2%. What does it take for a company in this sector to get any love right now. Although, CRUS is distinguishable because it was up 4% in regular trading today.
I dont know whether we will get a bump from CRUS tomorrow as we didnt get anything AH from the great CRUS numbers. However, I hope CRUS great report is a foreboding of great results on Thursday after the bell.
I wish I had some dry powder as I could have made a fortune today. But, I am already all in and fully committed due to mistiming trades on this one over the last couple of week when I believed it had bottomed. I'm under water until we come back some, which I think we should on Friday.
Manipulation at its absolute finest! They walked it down by shorting it and taking out stop losses and then bought the shares back at a bargain basement price.
By next Friday I will either be looking to kill myself after wiping out half the worth of my portfolio or I will be counting lots of profits. God, I hope it is the latter
I keep coming back to two statements that Aldrich made on Mad Money last month. The first was something like "All money flows to us." The second was "we are in everything." How could the next earnings or guidance be bad after statements like that? I'm all in with call options, short, mid and long dated. I wont be sleeping very well until next Thursday. It is going to be a tense 6 days.
