I don't know. Pru up 10% in 2 days and I believe met did better with their q1 performance. Like roger says, the feds are back in the picture again concerning met. Do the feds know that the national debt is very close to 17 trillion dollars. They, however, are going to teach met how to run a company that never took tarp
money like aig which got bailed out with billions of dollars of tax payers money. It doesn't make sense to me.
Met should be a $60+ company.
You did real good but I am hoping that met will return to a favorable long term investment.
I did very well with met at the end of 2008 and the beginning of 2009 doing the same thing you did. Approx 18 months ago I bought at $42 and it is never reached that number since.
At the time I purchased these shares the analyst's low estimate was $51 and I believe the high estimate was over $60. Well it never got close to either. Kandarian took a very large increase in salary and on may 1st we'll find out if this increase was justified. Maybe, because of the low interest rates, this is only a $30-$40 stock and maybe my expectations were too high.
So far you've done really well!!!!!!
3 billion eoros for the revs seems a little low compared to 4.09 billion q4 2012. I know q1 usually is not a big
quarter for alu and most companies but I'm hoping they beat your estimate. I enjoy your posts, you put
a lot of work into them.
I am more mad at the fed's, irs and fbi for letting him get away with stealing millions from shareholders and probably from the irs. He must have friends in high places.
I still firmly believe all his money is hidden in china and latin america. You would think that this thing would
not happen in the u.s. after Enron and Bernie Madof. It does not say much for our government system.
Pru up, afl up, pgr up, aig "way up" and met down again.
Met down 10.5% from it's $40.64 52 week high and that was only 3 weeks ago. I'm really curious to see
what happens 04/22/13 (Q1 results). Are these prices results of hedge fund shorting attacks or just a lack of confidence by shareholders. Considering the volume I would say the former. Very frustrating to say the least.

In the past 2 weeks met's pps has dropped approx 8.6% from it's $40.64 high and the dow was up most of this 2 week period. As of yesterday the pps was down approx 6.1%. The $40+ pps was short lived. My wish is they have good q1 results, raise the dividend to build future shareholder confidence, and with all the cash they have, instead of doing a stock buyback, build it's revenues up through acquistions of companies that have future profitability and "growth". Now that the bank classification is out of the way, they have to focus on growth which is a big concern of analysts opinion of both met and pru.
My confidence went down concerning Kandarian when he made the statement in a press release that met can perform well in a low interest environment and then
the day of the feds ok to declassify met as a bank (financial institution) he lays a bomb and reverses that statement.
Met shareholders were waiting over a year for the feds decision and, if you remember, the pps went down instead of going up as expected with this major decision. Forget about the possible share buybacks and increase in dividends,
Kandarian,as ceo, should not have made the original statement about performing well in a low interest environment without crossing his t's and dotting his i's. It made himself and met, as a company look like idiots.
Go to analysts estimates on yahoo finance. That's where they got it from. If alu has 1 good qtr the whole estimates will change. I expect alu should beat revs for q1 just like they beat revs estimates for q4/2012.
We might take an earnings loss q1 but with cuts by our new ceo q2 should be profitable. I am really impressed
with all the contracts alu is getting. Should be a good year.
Well maybe he'll hit a lot of homeruns and "earn" that kind of salary. The market has rebobunded to new highs and, yet, the pps is nowhere near the $66+ pps back in 2007. They have loads of cash,
let's see what they do with it. Maybe he will bring met back to where it was then. The 1st qtr results should give us a hint of where he is going with this company and it's shareholders who have been waiting so long for the pps to reach analysts predictions over the past year and a half.
Can anyobdy help me, Bud, Frank, Twigger, etc. I just got notified by my broker that I am being charged $208.00 for ADR fees for the 10,054 shares of alu which is approx 1.45% the value of my alu shares. Does that seem correct and is that a yearly charge?
Any help you could give me I would really appreciate it.
A friend of mine said she received a check a week ago.
Big jump on high volume. They've got lots of cash, wouldn't it be nice timing to raise the dividends and/or do a buyback to sustain this upward movement. However, maybe the market is just finally realizing that met is
undervalued. We will see next week.
Sentiment: Strong Buy
The dividend distribution will be quarterly instead of yearly. You should be getting a check in the next few days.
