    When are earnings?

  • Is not as bad as some here claim:

“You’ll recall that our financing plan is to raise to $50 million to $60 million over the next 12 to 15 months. To that end, we’re looking at a variety of different structures ranging from smaller staged financing to larger, more comprehensive solutions. While we’re not in the position today to say how this will all play out, what we do know is that we intend to complete at least the first phase of our financing by the end of June… Based on our current plans and projections, which remain subject to numerous uncertainties, we intend to raise $50 million to $60 million over the next 12 to 15 months… Failure to receive additional funding by the end of June 2014 will force us to delay, scale back or otherwise modify our business, operating plans, and/or pursue strategic alternatives… here’s a lot of activity around the financing, and we are talking to a bunch of different people about a variety of different structures. The focus has really been about the long term business plan and making sure that we’re securing the capital that we need to execute it. And we’re focused specifically on counter parties who share that interest… I would say that our plan to complete at least the first phase of financing by the end of June and we would expect to have a full set of information for investors about what that financing looks like when we announce it. And to complete it by the end of June, it means we’d have to announce it by the end of June.”

Okay so failure will lead to delay, scale back, business mods or strategic alternatives… The last one there could interest short term traders because a sale of the company would probably return at least 2x from today’s price and possibly much more. In spite of what the shorts want you to think, The IP here has significant value; shopping the company for a buyer that knows how to unlock value could/should be next...

I had June $10's that I bought months ago for around $2.20 and today was the first day that they've been worth anything... Not long ago they were down over 50%... It was so nice to see them come back :)

  • Just wondering what others think... I see a gap in the chart of a big name and highly suspect we'll see a recovery. I'm starting to see Twitter integrated with more and more television programs and suspect we're just starting to see the beginning of a big and beautiful relationship.

Looking at it again... Someone is giving away October call options so I may buy some of those while there cheap.

He's the same sort of investor who skipped on Amazon in the $60's because he couldn't see the potential there. Now Amazon is up over 500% and he still can't see the potential there.

You are right, Twitter has an important future and someday many will be wondering how they missed it. That's okay, let them cry about missed opportunities ;..( and hold what you can for better days. Good luck with your investments :)

    Darn near ready for capitulation

Capitulation could happen at any time now; all it takes is for a few more share holders to give up.

Another form could come from management. If they can't find financing at reasonable terms then they might as well sell the company to someone who has the deep pockets to make them a success. A company like DOW Chemical could easily buy Metabolix for $100Mil and justify the price for cash on hand and their series of patents, pending patents and FDA approvals. Whoever said that everyone should be laid off is a fool; the company's patents have value but so does their research team. If you want to sell a company you need to keep as much in place until the seller can decide who stays and who goes.

Management has a fiduciary responsibility to the shareholders and if they let this company go into BK without first hiring a firm to shop the company then their assssssets will be on the line. A simply announcement that they have hired a company to consider strategic alternatives would probably cause this stock to double or triple overnight. Even peelow knows that hundreds of patents and their recent IP has significant value (although he won't admit it).

The removal of Eno was a step in the right direction, but now the clock is ticking and something needs to happen soon. They can attend dozens of conferences but unless they are shopping for a partner or a buyer we are still going to have concerns going forward.

Metabolix may be a gamble but it is a gamble based up science, hundreds of patents, valuable new IP and more. Here below a dollar it is an inexpensive lottery ticket but with much better odds for the buyer.

  • At some point the weak hands are all gone but not until after one big sell off...

Done it and apparently the results vary by customer. Many of the top name companies have RetailMeNot in their results and usually in the top three... Lesser name companies may be dropping them out in favor of less name coupon companies. Time will tell how this plays out. I think this is a great time to be investing in any of the top coupon companies.

jos wrote: "Read Lynne Brum's Metabolix Blog written this morning. All this company needs is for someone like Starbucks to say , "This is an interesting idea" and this company will change directions. Perception alone will finance the company's growth. One large company (any large company will do) saying, "You know, maybe Metabolix has something here", and the stock is at $5. From $5, there is an equity base to sell and financing is available. All the number crunching you and Normey are sharing will be out of the window. The company and stock price will take on a life of its own. Of course, I could have written this passage two, three, four years ago too. "

There is much value in this company but building a refinery from scratch is not the right way to unlock it. No amount of funding in the world will turn this into the rocket we are all looking for. They need to open it up to the highest bidder and see how high it can go. Products for the construction world have even more potential than paper coatings but it's not going to happen unless someone big gets behind it and invests in Metabolix.

  • Do it while they still have cash in the bank and investors may see something for their patience.

Announce that they are looking for new owners and let the bidding begin.

The products and patents they have do have value but you wouldn't know it by the way this stock trades.

    Sentiment: Strong Buy

  • It takes a lot of patience before a little restaurant becomes a McDonald's but this one is on it's way...

With 303 restaurants open they have only 35,116 more to go before they catch up

Little companies like this have huge potential as long as the locals like their food.
Growth is happening and hopefully accelerates in the come years '-)

    Sentiment: Strong Buy
