  • Selloff was overdone today. We should head north to 103.5/104 is my call. I think the massive selling and profit taking from 108 is over. Cash has been freed up in GILD, googl, amzn, tsla and others.

I dont think we test the highs for a couple of weeks but do feel we rise and go north-just my prediction

Finally someone says it. The rev from licensing the generics there is all gravy and pure profit. They are not manufacturing there for any reason. Purely a profit like a franchise would in McDonalds or other business.
Again I would urge and say that Gilead would not have had any or extremely little opportunity to get any revenue in the poorer countries evidence by the per capita income and history of other expensive drugs.
Good move on Gilead and unfortunately a little profit taking by those who had gains to take in GILD

I dont really think this is the case. I think its consolidating here and a knee jerk reaction. The support below 100 was strong and it snapped back $3 which is strong.
We're down about 2% abut as you know this one can move in wild swings and be at 105 in no time.

I dont think the market is responding to that but rather still a sell off from last week. The news was announced this morning but the selloff was a retracement and consolidation. It will settle. The news is good as I mentioned before.
We should be okay once the dust settles.
Remember this one has a big short interest.

Well put. Not sure why the premarket reaction or sentiment is down but there are parts of the world where this drug WOULD NOT sell due to its cost and lack of things like insurance. Net is a plus as Africa and India are two likely areas. I believe the article stated India first as the target of this with a large pool of potential patients.
It wont make gilead rich but will be a revenue stream that they did not have.

Fair enough. Do you see consolidation at 101? Market has been selling off but last week has not necessarily been in conjunction with GILD. Gilead topped off north of 108 and has dropped nearly 5%. I see a finite stop that is unmarked that is my gut speaking of course and charts again are uncharted less the 100 to 101 area.
I appreciate the feedback and value it.

I agree if the breakout above 91 occurs. I think the trading low was hit this week at 89ish and I say we have potential to breakout this week into the 93-94 range. Post earnings 100 would be achievable althought high 90's would make more sense based upon historical price movements.

The company is a beast with a with a warchest of future revenue streams such as Star Wars, entertainment parks rev as well as media revenue/merch rev.

Growth and pricing is dominant with return to shareholder and growth rate being key.

  • I am a very active option trader but new to gilead and am considering short term weekly calls but am having a difficult time with the price point based upon the charts. I like it here and see this price range as a serious buying opportunity that wont necessarily move with the broad market and can easily see a price point north of 106 by the end of the week.
Three things-those that really track it like the raleigh trader please comment.
Also what was that wild day about 10 days ago or so where the low dropped to 97 or so before closing 5-7 dollars higher.
Third-this Mylan Combination any threat here to gilead?

    Thanks for the responses.

    I'm thinking 100 calls sept 20th btw

This is merely a combo treatment and there is no impact to Truvada sales for Gilead. Good for everybody and treatment awareness for HepC since Sovaldi has good way up.
Gilead support to arise above 105 Monday and 1107-108 mid point of the week!!

definitely disagree. I feel that there are buying points if the macro picture challenges the broad market as the open seems like it will be challenged based upon ISIS and attacks in Syria and Iraq but.....
Google seems to grow the top line beautifully and is very diversified as a core tech holding. It is lost btw that 585 and 600 range and needs direction but DEFINITELY NOT OVERVALUED!!!

WE'll note this and mark this 200/185 short call as It's likely not even going below 220! You have this all wrong and either shorted it and are #$%$ bricks or regretting you missed this. Reality-you may have missed a little bit but still can get on this fast moving rock solid Baidu train.

400 may be a stretch but I agree 300 is a very likely possibility. For the naysayers, simply look at the earnings and conference cal they just had. Baidu just had a developer conference as well. Also, chinese internet and ecommerce should get more respect as Alibaba should increase some awareness in those spaces.

250 would be a new high but I'm calling it this month!!

  • anuandamit anuandamit Sep 5, 2014 11:33 PM Flag

Highly doubt it. Once this CDS issue is settled, we'll see it trend higher. This is a good environment with IPO's mergers and acquisitions for big banking like GS to make money.

I'm in the camp that we see 190 within the next 6 weeks!

Well written and agree about the iphone 6 spiking the stock. I believe both versions will be available and the lines/sales will be monstrous as will pre-orders.
Expect big and this time Apple will correct any past supply chain issues as the official event was just announced so I know supply chain issues will not be existent this release.
Apple to $107-108 pre-release and 115 after release by the end of the week.

  • So, I'm reading from various blogs and posts that this seems to be the day. Let's say it is. I have some questions. I'm long and I think apple is different than it was 2 years ago in 2012 when the stock price tanked from the old 700 down. This release which I seem to read it as an iphone release and not an iwatch release should release both larger versions of the iphone with an improved display and casing/glass as well as camera. Supply chain is not an issue as a massive demand is planned which corrects the issues of 5S.
With 4G growth Asia demand and what I think to be a global release (I think but not sure), this should rocket to 110 at least through the news.-thoughts on this.

I'm calling for 105 before the release and 110 afterwards. What will really stop this? Why with a PE multiple of 16 will slow this beast down. Remember this also has a juicy dividend that it didnt 2 years ago.

I just dont see a massive panic sell button to be hit.

Let me know your thoughts as I see consolidation before an end of the week breakout to 103 this week.
