Look what happned with Apple.... that was clear favoritism with the striking of Samsung patent by the government..... Japan's rulling was overturned because UDC purchased Fuji's patents making Japan its home turf.
Surprising... it appears that UDC is playing in the wrong camp. One will have to read the reasoning behind the decision. Japan upheld... Europe annuled.... and the US.? otherwise this is of not consequence.
Let me add. Apple has "offended" Samsung more then once, Nothing new. Next, they pushed the US government to basically annul Samsung patent . Samsung is ready for battle. If and when Apple come out with a OLEd phone they will be sued world wide... Samsung has filed multiple OLED patents and regardless of the "quality" of the patents Apple will infringe. The smart thing for apple was to cross license. Tim Cook is not about innovation and R&D but milking the cow. He has not produced a single innovation since he took over. I am surprised Samsung is not buying OLED ... even for 3bil it would be worth cornering the OLED market. It will place LG and Apple under their finger. Go figure
290m is a drop in the bucket. For apple it is BAD news. Once more Apple is playing the buly in a period when all of its so called patents are getting old and irrelevant. They hardly have any OLED patents and that is were we will see the future form factor.
yes it is... the stock was up until mid day and then down on low volume which increased toward the end. LOL... shorts are playing with fire. .... although it also could be day traders.
I am sure that the judge will hear the request for an "impartial" expert opinion (i.e., the president of a competing company). He will then consider the request to have UDc expert. He will then ask to reschedule so that he can rethink the requests. My guess, however, is that they will deny all requests and validate the patent. Give me a break..... published in Nature and cited by everyone as a breakthrough....
Sorry, I didn't read the end. Personally, I decided to getout of ALL mutual funds. They are a scam
investors in those mutual funds holding the bag"
I don;t get it. People who invest in these funds are not invested in lending stock and anyways the proceeds don;t go to the funds but to Fidelity. So why should they hold the bag. This would be a major lawsuit.
Add to it an LG line of TVs in the second q. of 2014.... with double the capacity of OLED phones combined!
That is apparently a separate line... perhaps with the investment of Apple (maybe AUO?)
I actually got that from the UBS discussion:
"and on August 1st t...converting one of their Gen-8 sized lines...d will be making TVs in the second half of 2014....And that line if you calculate how many 100% yields that could make, almost 2 million TVs annually. "
Nice, particularly the LG TV - 2mil annually = 180mil phones = X3 or more revenue

"But experts and retailers alike say the plasma TV's death has been a long time coming, and new TV technology such as OLED and 4K screens has sealed its fate."
