I have been in this stock for a long time and know only too well about this management. And, what recent run? There has never been a run at all because management trips the runner every time this begins to show some improvement. Like I said before, this company used to make raise its money from grants when it was a research company. Now, they make it from the stockholders. They won't even log the 35 million dollars onto the balance sheet.
It was really quite ruthless of the management to fire most of their talented and loyal workers. Now they want to buy another company. This is quite an insult to those people who worked for them for all those years? Management is positioning themselves for the next boost in stock price to make themselves some more money. Oh wait, they did a secondary the last time when the stock was at around 4 bucks a share.
I believe you voice the sentiment of many here. I have been with this company for over 12 years. I know the history better than most. It's another Atlas Shrugged event, (from Ayn Rand's book). They had the best stem cell portfolio in the world and basically gave all of it away, (to the shock of all of the investors), and now they want to diversify, and (with our money). Unbelievable! Something, once again, is not right.
We have been dispensable and will continue to be. If you don't believe me, let's all check back in 5 years.
And this is why the big guys get paid the big bucks to decide what to do with our money in the future. Which starts on Monday---
You haven't been around long enough to experience this company management has done to share holders over the last decade or so.
True. This 250 million shelf action is more than a splinter in the accounting practices of this company. And, this may very well take this stock into a hold or sell position.
Nothing to do with a hostile takeover. This is how the management will continue to shuffle money into their corporate pockets while diluting the value of the stock in my opinion. The stock PPS is down considerably and now we know why. This 3 dollars P/Share is ridiculous. Geron was once a research company and the only money they received was through grants, etc. Now, they are "...a clinical stage biopharmaceutical company, focuses on the development of telomerase inhibitor, imetelstat, for treating hematologic myeloid malignancies." Currently they get their money from the stock holders and from what I can interpret, straight from their web page---"We currently seek to acquire one or more oncology products, programs or companies to diversify our business." Why in the world diversify? They were already diversified when they were the owner and developer of the best Stem cell portfolio in the world. So, now, they really want to re-diversify. Really!
When they buy another company, this will result in the stalling out of any progress in our PPS, in my opinion.
Of course. And as soon as they own around 90% of this stock, it will skyrocket. Just like netflix--
Hey, at least they are paying attention to their potential market. When they hit the magic numbers, I think we will all be chasing this up the mountain.
That is because they have been diluting the heck out of this for a decade and probably plan to do another one in the next year or so.
