Someone appears to be quietly accumulating quantities of stock

Today I awoke to find that most of the contracts that I sold with future
    expiration dates were exercised.
(Go figure, they still had several months of time value.)

Hmmm, I guess that is the danger when you write contracts that are in the
money, but I didn't expect them to be exercised this soon.

Oh well, I will repurchase on the next dip.

PIXAR has a movie this year.......

Calamity, a few weeks back you pointed out what a bargain technology stocks were, citing off many names that were selling are discounted prices and pointing these out as a good alternative to Pixar. At the same time you began complaining about how your money was stuck in Pixar because you had bought at 32 7/8 and your money was underwater. (. I hope to never see you cry again about your $32 share price. If you had been unstuck then you might now be stuck in a bunch of loser technology stocks.)

Thanks to your wonderful advice, and the fact that technology stocks appeared to be bargains, I bought a few of those stocks.
Boy do I wish I had put that money to better use and bought more Pixar !!!

There are no safe investments in this market, but Pixar does appear to have potential on the upside and low risk on the downside.

Here's to forty and beyond, may it happen sooner than you expect.

Did Toy Story 2 beat the record set by A Bug's Life?

How many videos, dvds, games, and toys were sold during the holidays?

What are the current whisper numbers?

Input, I need more input, then I will buy.

    Q4 Earnings are next week

Take a look at the detailed two-year chart if you are still wondering where we are heading.

1999 was the last movie years, it was quite a roller coaster but one thing was clear
Pixar stayed over $40 for more than fifty percent of all trading days. There were
just as many up days as there were down days and therefore many opportunities
    to make money.

This is yet another movie year for Pixar and therefore we are back on the roller coaster.

More important, Pixar releases its Q4 earnings report on next Thursday and it is expected
to be a big one. When investors take a look at Pixar's numbers in comparison to the
rest of the market they will take notice.

Pixar is stockpiling cash, assets, and talent. It won't be long before some of the bigger
Institutional Investors and Money Managers start to take notice.

October still looks very promising for
    PIXR

This is an excellent buying opportunity with PIXR at a
    new 52 week low

    October => Cable, Public
television, Videos, DVDs, Toys, Commercials, and lots of
public exposure for the Pixar name. Increased consumer
awareness could lead to an increased stock price. Of
    course, only time will tell.

  • at_last_at_last by at_last_at_last Oct 11, 2000 1:37 PM Flag

Wow, October has been a bust.

    This month
weve seen the release of Buzz Lightyear of Star
Command on daily television and A Bugs Life on
pay-per-view. Neither of these had an effect on the stock
    price.

Next week is the release of Toy Story on DVD and
Toy Story 2 on Video and DVD. Hopefully these will
have a positive effect on the stock price. Ive heard
rumors that DVDs are now selling better than computers.
Perhaps with tech stocks falling out of favor we will see
more backing for entertainment stocks. (We shall
    see.)

The week after next is the Annual meeting of
shareholders. One has to wonder why it was delayed for so long.
Hopefully, it was so a lot of good news could be readied for
    release.

Good luck to everyone invested in Pixar.

May the release of two blockbusters on DVD bring new
    fortunes to the bottom line.

Let's all worry about reduced revenues.
    What
are we investing in here, a technology stock or an
    entertainment stock?

No one here can provide facts about
how much Pixar will earn from DVDs sales.
    (They
don't ship for another two weeks.)

    No one here
can provide facts about how much Pixar will earn from
    the Video release.
(It does not ship for another
    two weeks.)

No one here can provide facts
about how much Pixar will earn from the Buzz Lightyear
    television series
(It just started and Pixar isn't
talking about the size of their cut.)

    No one here
can provide facts about how much Pixar will earn from
related toys, video games, and general
    merchandise
(The holiday shopping season does not start until next
    month.)

No one here can provide facts about what software
products Pixar will release over the next twelve
    months.
No one here can provide facts about how much money
Pixar will earn from products shipping on NT and Linux
    platforms
No one here can provide information about the timing
    of revenues from the above.

    Yes, you can
assume that revenues will be reduced (because the
    analysts say so).
Of course, last year the analysts
released Y2K estimates that were low by nearly thirty
    percent.

What we do know is that "for the first time in Pixar's
history they are receiving revenue from weekday
    television, pay-per-view, and NT".
    We also know that two
of Pixar's biggest moneymakers are releasing this
    month on DVD.
Hopefully this will add up to
    something big for Pixar.
    The employees deserve a better
    stock price
    Long-term investors deserve a better
    stock price
And a few million shorts deserve a
    better stock price

Here's to new highs in the new
    Millennium
May it happen sooner than you expect !!!

  • at_last_at_last at_last_at_last Oct 4, 2000 3:56 PM Flag

    Ah, umm, nothing?
    Already in the stock price
    ??? (BS!!!)

So far I have not seen a single
number for the amount of per-ordered DVDs.
    So far I
have not seen the Disney marketing blitz for the Video
    and DVDs

    The shareholder's meeting is
    interesting to current investors but
    (excuse me) it will
not raise consumer awareness and it probably won't

    attract new investors.

    The marketing campaign,
the numbers, and associated press releases
    are
much more interesting than hashing around last's years
    accomplishments.
These events have the potential to bring in new
    investors.

The ABC premier of Buzz Lightyear of Star

I believe that the premier is this

(Sorry if this is a repeat the system didn't
appear to take my first attempt.)

    The "Buzz
    Lightyear" television series started yesterday.

    It is
very cute for a kid's show but it will probably take a
    few
months to build up a following and a retail
    line.

The "Toy Story" and "Toy Story 2" Videos and DVDs
    don't
ship until October 17, by then the marketing
    campaign will
    be in full force.

    The
Shareholder's letter should arrive sometime this week
    or
    early next week.

    Can't guarantee that these will
change the stock price, but they
    will increase
    consumer awareness.

    If record breaking numbers are
released for the sales of Videos & DVDs then
    we should
see some sort of improvement. The patient should be
    rewarded.

Personally, I believe this to be an
    excellent long-term investment, but
    if you looking for
a short term trade you might try buying at the
    current lows
and selling at the end of the month
after the "Toy Story & Toy Story 2" commercials
    have
had a few days of air time.

Wow, this board has become quite.
    Guess it is

Has anyone else seen the "Toy Story

    So far I've
seen two mixed in with two hundred Nike
    commercials.
I guess Disney is saving the advertising budget for
    October.

Once again, October looks very promising for

    Thank you

"the biggest revenue generator of all".
    Although, I
agree that the VHS release of "Toy Story 2" is going to
be huge, I tend to believe that the DVD
    is going
to be the big surprise. (Lots of players selling and
    lots people buying DVDs. ;-)

From what I recall, shareholders need to be given
    30-day advance notice
    prior to the annual meeting.
Since not every shareholder has an Internet connection,

the report should be arriving before the end of next
    week.
