    Speculation on yesterday's move...

    The
annual report is supposed to be released before the end
    of this month.
It is possible that the brokers
    received these documents yesterday.

    If they did
then we should be receiving our copies in the mail

before the end of the month.

    A extremely positive
report along with a well written letter from
    Steve
often has an positive effect on the stock price.

Small white lies can get us in trouble.
    Yes?

Which is the truth: A) You bought shares on January 6,
2000 or B) You've been out of PIXR since NOV
    99?

    Everyone here has an agenda,
    Yes?

    Bought some
today, Low volume today but It's held up well with the
market down. I was hoping for a break under $33 to shake
out a few weak hands but I don't see it
    happening.

I don't see any upgrades coming but this stock has
a history and traders should come into it.

Looking for $42-$44 but maybe I'll get lucky and DIS will
buy PIXR out for $100 :-)

    -----------------------------------

Arentz65, I read through a few dozen of your prior posts. I
was a bit curious why you got such a rise out of the
longs on this board. For the most part you appear to be
a very savvy Investor who is a bit pissed off with
how the Internet has messed with the market. It
appears that you have a strong dislike for people who
hype Pixar, you respect Pixar as a company, and you
have done quite well making the best of the cyclical
nature of this stock. (Sorry for stereotyping, but that
is how you come across in print.)

    What I
can't understand is how you can make predictions about
the stocks movement over the next twelve months and
expect others to take you seriously. We both know that
there are a lot of factors that come into play here.
Your personal price targets have been stated before by
other, (mostly novice investors), and they were always
wrong. You are obviously not a novice investor but
somehow you think you have a crystal ball. You are
leaving yourself open for becoming the next Walt. (Those
who make predictions that are too low are just as bad
as those who make predictions that are too high.
    Yes?)

    October should be a

The following article was reported in October of
last year. The numbers were primarily due to revenue
received from the "Bug's Life" video. Looking towards the
fourth quarter of this year, Pixar should receive
revenue from "Toy Story" and "Toy Story 2" Videos and
    DVDs, "A Bug's Life" pay-per-view, and passive
royalties from "Buzz Lightyear of Star Command" the
television series. (Along with some minor amount of
additional revenue from their software products selling on
Windows NT and possibly Linux.) Does anyone else have a
feeling that this is going to add up to a lot of revenue
    for Pixar?

    RICHMOND, Calif. (CBS.MW)
-- Pixar Animation Studios on Monday reported vastly
improved profits in the third quarter that smashed most
analysts' expectations, thanks to video proceeds from "A
    Bug's Life."

The company said its profit from
operations was $32.3 million, or 63 cents a share, compared
to net income of $867,000, or 2 cents, in the
year-ago period. On average, seven analysts who responded
to First Call's survey were looking for a profit of
    just 29 cents a share.

    The stock (PIXR: news,
msgs), which closed at 37 7/8, jumped to 41 3/4 in
    after-hours trading.

    Revenue soared to $79.2 million

    When should a short cover?

    at_last_at_last at_last_at_last Sep 7, 2000 11:56 AM Flag

Hmmm, now appears to be a good time to cover or
    buy.
Events in the month of October may bring a bit of
attention to Pixar and its extremely low stock
    price:

Pixar's second movie "A Bug's Life" starts show on
Pay-per-view starting on October first. Two weeks later,
Pixar's "Buzz Lightyear" stars in a new Saturday morning
cartoon that is created and produced by Disney. Three
days later, the original "Toy Story" and Pixar's
blockbuster "Toy Story 2" release on DVD. One week later,
Steve Jobs meets with shareholders to share his latest
thoughts on the future of Pixar.

    In addition to
the products being released by Disney and Pixar in
the month of October, there should be a flood of
additional merchandise finding its way to many retailers and
most toy stores throughout the country. (Just in time
for the busy holiday shopping season. YES!)

    To
October and Beyond.. .. ..In November, Pixar employees
move into their new studio in Emeryville, California.
It is an extremely impressive piece of real estate.
(The fact that it is almost "paid for" is even more
    impressive! ;-)

Good luck to all Pixar investors,

    RWB

The next six months should prove the power of
building a library of hit films.

    In October,
several of the "Toy Story" characters are immortalized in
    Disney's Saturday morning cartoon lineup.
    In October,
Pixar's "Bug's Life" begins its run on cable's

    In
October, Pixar's "Toy Story" and "Toy Story 2" release

    In October, The first
trailer for "Monster's Inc." premiers to audiences
    nation-wide.
In October, Steve Jobs meets with shareholders to
announce his plans for growing Pixar.

    Dozens of
companies hold licenses for creating and selling associated
merchandise I wouldn't be surprised if October also brings a
flood of new Disney / Pixar toys, costumes, clothing,

Pixar is very close to the 12 month
    low.

Last year Pixar made approximately "$0.63" in one
quarter due to the sale of "A Bug's Life" videos and
    DVDs

This year Pixar is predicting approximately the same
amount for rest of this year from the sale of the
    following
    products:
    --------------------------------------------------------
    - RenderMan Artists Tools 4.1 for Irix, Windows NT,
    Windows 2000 (07/25/2000)
    - Disney Gold Collection
Edition of "A Bug's Life" video and DVD (08/01/2000)

    - Buzz Lightyear of Star Command video and DVD
    (08/08/2000)
    - Pay per view Bug's Life (10/01/2000)
    - Buzz
Lightyear of Star Command the television series
    (10/14/2000)
    - Toy Story / Toy Story 2 box set !!! $$$$$
    (10/17/2000)
    - Alfserver Linux (End of summer release)
    -
Linux for Intel Processors batch version of MTOR 2.1
    (End of summer release)
    - Christmas toy sales and
    related merchandise

    Guess what folks?

"Buzz" is a much stronger revenue stream than
    "Flick"
Think about it, we could see new highs in 2000, and
    "Buzz" could push us there.

    To Infinity and
    Beyond !!!!

May it happen sooner than you expect.

    Annual Shareholders Meeting, hmmm

    Who,
What, When, Where, Why ??? The last time I contacted
investor relations I was told (via email) that
    "it
will happen before the end of the summer"
Unfortunately, that doesn't narrow it down much.

    It
would be really great if a few of the analysts calling
in to the Pixar Q2 conference call would ask about
    the
Annual Shareholders Meeting and why it wasn't
announced in June. (Like every prior year.)

    Pixar Selects Silicon Graphics Octane2
    High-Performance Visual Workstations As Production
    Platform

    NEW ORLEANS, SIGGRAPH, July 25 /PRNewswire/ -- SGI's
(NYSE: SGI - news) long-time customer, Pixar Animation
Studios (Nasdaq: PIXR - news), has made a significant
purchase of more than 250 powerful new Silicon Graphics
Octane2(TM) visual workstations for production of its fourth
animated feature film, Disney/Pixar's Monsters, Inc.,
targeted for a Holiday 2001 release.

    The Silicon
Graphics Octane2 visual workstation, introduced by SGI
last month, is a new desktop line with more
visualization power than any other UNIX workstation. Octane2
brings together the most robust implementation of
SGI(TM) VPro(TM) graphics; an optimized crossbar
    architecture; the latest high-performance MIPS RISC processor;
and multiple industry-first features for power users
in technical and creative professions. Pixar is
providing these workstations to its entire digital content
creation team, who will use the workstations for 3D
    modeling, painting and animation.

    ``We've always
looked to SGI to provide the most advanced visualization
technology,'' said Greg Brandeau, vice president of Computer
Operations for Pixar Animation Studios. ``We chose Octane2
for its unmatched speed, power and features that
enable us to produce a more visually-rich film. These
important tools will help our animators manipulate complex
models and images, as well as complete the film on time
    and within budget.''

    ``Pixar Animation
Studios' selection of Octane2 as its production platform
for Monsters, Inc. tells us that we're on target and
consistently delivering the kinds of visual graphics products
that make a difference in keeping our customers at the
top of their industries,'' said Greg Estes, vice
president and general manager, Telecommunications and Media
    Group, SGI.

(It appears that some of those crying
for a stock buy back may not get their way. Pixar is
finally starting to spend a little bit of their bank roll
to buy better tools. Note to the C-Man: this is one
more way to put more value into the business. Better
tools will help speed up the production of future
    movies.)
